    Food £202.95/£150
The last £50 or so of this is actually rolling into February. I went to Lidl to get a few things when I felt ill and decided to stock up.
    Food Donation £3/£3
My local tescimos has a crate for this so it makes it easier, although not planning on going to tescimos in Feb
    Brand Downshift 5/5
This wasn't too bad. Haven't tried one of the downshifts. I'm kind of hoping the results are good because it's one of my favourite supper/lunch to work things so if it's cheaper, then it's all the better
    Spends £159.65/£200
This was kind of what I expected
    Fuel £95.69/£100
The trip to Yorkshire for Christmas was included in this and I've still got a third of a tank
    Medical £7.85/£10
Had this as my beauty category but didn't use it, hardly ever do. Only had to pay this on Thursday, could have waited but the infection couldn't
    SFD 19/20
Missed by one day due to an infection, better to be safe than sorry
    Packed Lunches 15/15
This was another easily attainable target. I don't like eating in the canteen unless it's a plain baguette and I've got into the habit of not taking money in so I have to take lunch
    Exercise 9/12
Haven't done any exercise this week due to a migraine on Monday and taking a few days to rest up

The good news is that I really don't need to go shopping for a while and I'm away for a week in February. Going to count this trip as normal with SFD's and such, but the budget for the trip is coming from my savings.

On the plus side, I have paid £200 off my credit card. Hoping there will be some left at the end of the month that I can shift over but I've got at least four birthdays in February so a bit of an expensive month and I don't want to go into my overdraft again.

I think more along the lines of, "Last one in's a pansy" or "it's a shortcut, honest"

    Evening all

Thanks to all who mentioned me I know it will get sorted and I will get there.
After it now sinking in we are going to contact the legal aid, and give them a full income and expenditure. As I feel there breakdown isn't a true breakdown for us it's like a generic for two adults and two kids. There no gas or electric costs or food so will see if can get contributions down a bit. I know have to pay something but think what there asking is a bit much.

Anyway on this month I managed

    · SFD 18/20 (better than I thought)
    . Shopping £260.11 /£250 (not good)
    . Petrol £105/£150 :j
    . Packed lunch 20/20 :j
    . Exercise 20/31
    . Downshift 5/5 :j
    . food bank £3/£3

All in all not to bad so bring on February am raring to go :j

    Hello lovely people!

Another NSD today.in fact, of the cash we've had available to spend this month (after known expenses), 44% has gone into savings rather than shops.

Thank you for an amazing challenge & see you in the next one!

  • Hi all,
Not been a great month for all sorts of reasons - youngest not a great sleeper, illness, bad weather, no internet for 2 weeks and a broken dishwasher. Also been struggling with feeling low for personal reasons and I didn't want to bring everyone down by coming on too much. However, I did keep to,the challenge and managed 18 SFDs and 15 of the 15 exercise sessions. Did have chocolate though so complete fail there!

Not done all my sums yet so not quite sure how I did but do know that the dishwasher did throw my budgets so it won't be great reading.

I will see you all on the other side for a, hopefully, better February.
Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

A year ago I started noting down what I spent and where. I had 9 NSD in Jan 2013 and spent over £730. Fast forward to Jan 2014, month 3 of joining Kat's challenges, and I've had 17 NSD and spent approx £260. Plus I've managed to put £1240 away! (£800 of that was from extra earnings, but £440 came from being frugal) result!

    Thank you Kat!

Hoping Feb can be as positive :T:T:T
