    Good morning,

cycled to work this morning in the pouring rain as I wanted the fresh air and didn't have any change for the bus back if I'd gotten a lift of OH in the morning (his course got cancelled so no lift back). Plus I put all the remaining money in my current account towards my CC so I'm not tempted to take out a tenner and break it for the bus fare. So the rest of the week should be SFDs and I should make the target.

Going to read the terms and conditions properly of the Halifax account and then change maybe once I got paid and the DD that come out on the 1st are gone. Will also see if they have internet savings accounts because I like how I can see all my "pots/envelops" together on one page on the online banking site with RBS.

    EDIT:

Just had a look at their application. It only gives you the options of Single, Married, Widowed or Separated? So they will see me as a single mum, although I'm not?

You can open Websaver accounts with them and name them whatever you like with Halifax. I love their online banking, it's as good/better than RBS for me. They don't have the function to set a goal, but I find the detail on their current accounts a lot easier to work with.

I do my grocery budget from pay day to pay day then the SFD's and exercise etc for the calendar month.

applemuncher - I buy the lunch bags made from recycled plastic bottles for my kids, you can get them on ebay or the dotcomgiftshop and they are hands down the best ever. They are silver lined so keep things cool but they are so fantastically easy to clean, they have no crimped corners where bits of yoghurt get stuck and starts to smell and the outside is all wipe clean too. One bag does all year and DS is even using his for the second year.

Today will be a SFD, I am working from home this afternoon, cleaning and making vegetable soup this morning, then school run and ironing later.

    Morning all,
Today will be a SFD which will take me to 1 as I'm not going anywhere! I think by th end of the month I would have managed 14 so not all bad I guess.

DD is off school again today but should be back tomorrow as her temp has come back down and she is back to her normal self thank goodness! Temp was up to 40c last night and she was shivering but that seemed to be the peak of it, was a bit scary and was ready to take her to out of hours but 111 advised me how to manage it and all was fine.

Jobs for today are looking at all accounts and shuffling money, think I'm getting obsessive lol we will also be doing colouring in and playdough, cos thats how we roll.

    SFDs: 15/20 (I think)
    Food budget: £270/£240
    Lunch: £1/£5
Brand downshift: 1/5 (smartprice nat. yoghurt)
    Foodbank: £0/£3
    Exercise sessions: 4/15
    Social: 3/2 (1 unexpected one)

Had a fab night out with bessie last night - £14 for two carveries and bottle of wine.

    Planning a SFD today.

Thrifty - I switched to the halifax and it went smoothly. I didn't get the £100 at first but when I complained I got it and a bonus (can't remember how much now) for my inconvenience. Really easy to use their online banking system too.
  • Hello Chicks..... office is winding down. Gonna get onto Febs challenge as we speak(type) - super tired from archery last night but I met a rather lovely boy in the other class so that woke me up a little. Very funny guy and we traveled home in the same direction (not together) so I got to flutter my eye-lashes...:rotfl:

Now then... a theme. I need a theme....

So, not trying to get ahead of ourselves but... does he like travelling??
    ;)

Glad to hear everything is going well. I am getting psyched up for another nightshift.
    :)

Today is spend-free day number 18. I love nightshifts as I sleep all day so don't spend any money.
    :D

Hope everyone is having a good day. I am really looking forward to February's challenge.
I won't get any bank pay at the end of February as didn't work any extra shifts in January (not through choice, there was just nothing available). However, dad said we can use the council tax money towards the credit card so that's another £160 or something like that.
    :o

    Have a lovely evening.
    Hugs.
