You know when you have to laugh, otherwise you'd cry...
After paying off more of my ccard with my emergency fund last night, I drove to the gym this morning and discovered I had two flat tyres, thanks to two screws being in them! Unfortunately neither tyre could be repaired so I had to have them both replaced. To make me laugh more, they are the two tyres that I bought brand new, only 4 weeks ago and I now can't afford such decent tyres so had to buy a worse quality pair today :rotfl:
Poor you - that is sod's law isn't it.
PheoniX - We went out as a family (us and 2 kids) in December on two separate occasions with other families and when it came to ordering we all agreed to have two bills running for our table, one for each family so we only paid for what we ate. The people we were out with were not struggling financially in any way but they wanted it this way too. There is no way I would split the bill down the middle anymore.
I have raided the store cupboard today and have made a batch of white chocolate and coconut muffins, a small white loaf and five bread rolls and loads of gingerbread (would have been men but the little man has gone awol) so they are hearts and I have frozen half the dough for another day.
I have been on the Sainsburys website and priced up all the fruit and veg we need in £/Kg and I am going to the local greengrocer tomorrow to compare and hopefully buy.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi all I've not posted for ages but have been reading everyday, have got 14 NSD's and have downshifted my hairdresser from 41.00 per cut to 27.00 so pleased with that too. I get paid tomorrow and am a few pounds in my overdraft but at this point normally I would have been maxed out for at least a week and a half to my overdraft limit. get paid tomorrow so will have to work hard to resist spending. I feel much more in control of spending and have worked hard to do balance transfers and cut costs in general. Thanks for all the posts they are motivational and I have been extolling the virtues of this forum to everyone I know.
Might have to spend some money tomorrow as Ted the dog looks like he might have a poorly ear but he seems happy enough at the moment using my feet as a pillow!NSK 28 days later # 49 £2 Savers Club 2014 #75 20p Saver Club #42

Hello!
Another SFD here, have not been out all weekend and have spent it in my onesie:D but I've been doing lots of jobs like reshuffling accounts again, washing, cleaning and all that boring stuff that needs doing.
DD is poorly againshe has had a nasty cough in the last week which has got worse and now has a temperature so I think the doctors tomorrow because she isn't getting any better.

Afternoon folks!
Just finished day 7 of 8 at work and nagged myself to update my spreadsheet and make a post on here. Like many I am finding the time to read and keep up but time for posting is not as easy.
I normally get a quick twenty minutes at work where I can read and catch up. Was going to post the other day but I couldn't remember what my SFD total was. The answer is..16. Which means with five days to go I should make the target. I think this is the first month since I started Kat's challenges that I am cutting it so fine.
I have £140 odd left in my purse but don't actually need to spend anything. There are a few bits I could do with, but they can wait until Saturday. I have loads of food in still, not so much fresh but again, I can wait until Saturday.
I got paid on Friday. Only went £30 into the overdraft. I'm not sure if I will get charged on that or not. I think I have it free up to £250, but only time will tell. What I did forget was that I was getting an extra days pay for NYD in this period's pay. So technically that is another £100 that I can add to the CC.
I am in a bit of a dilemma though with making a payment to the CC. I'm a little scared to make the payment at the start of Feb due to ending up overdrawn this month. But if I don't, my minimum payment will go out and I will end up paying twice. It's 0% so won't make a lot of difference but it will put my totals wonky again. They won't be nice clean numbers, LOL.
I've got four days off, well, six if you count the weekend as of Tuesday. Going to look at some potential houses, help a mate out moving a sofa and sort some more stuff to go to storage/the tip.
I hope everyone that is feeling under the weather, or caring for people/littlies that are under the weather are getting lots of rest and taking care.Feb NST #4

Oh no Fmess - what bad luck... typical isn't it?
Well, needless to say I didn't just watch 'one more episode of the Bridge'! It is totally addictive isn't it Thifty? Did you enjoy it Moomin? I have to admit we do pay for Netflix as it does stop us going out or buying DVDs like we used to... I think it's worth it for us.
Well done PhoeniX! So happy for you - hope you have something nice planned for when you officially become DF tomorrow!
Hope everyone's poorly little ones get well soon...LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j
