  • Where has the day gone!

    Mr A due between 6 & 8 (which I've now realised is a bit of a PITA as I can't go for my bath until they've been :o) - it was a £1 delivery slot though .....

Had a lovely walk on the beach earlier :) chilly and a bit breezy in places but sunny & really enjoyed it. Went a bit further than normal & thought 'madam' might sleep this afternoon so I could catch up on a few bits - errrrr no chance! ;) She's out cold now though!

Done 1 load of washing - another to stick on either after my bath (need today's clothes in it to fill it up) or might wait until tomorrow

Ironing still to do! (I usually wash on a Saturday and iron on Sunday - but didn't wash until yesterday! :o)

Nearly had heart failure earlier - logged into my bank and the balance was dire ..... I was sure we get paid today but it's actually tomorrow :o *sigh*

  • Pay day :T

Have been & fed the budgeting pots as I've been really (really!) bad at doing this for ages :(

Visa bill is ginormous  I thought I'd been better this month too :o

However, there is over £200 in vets bills on it so that doesn't really help - I will have to take money (again!) from the account that I'm trying to build a buffer so I can down-grade their insurance policies :( and also a whack from the car tax / servicing pot (car tax not due until June so can build enough to pay it by then & don't have any servicing costs but .....)

Good news is Jan groceries is looking about on target - always overspend on this as many of you know.

Milk alone comes to nearly £40 / month so it's really hard ....

    Quiet Feb coming ..... :o

  • Rising, my local Sainsbugs has the George grills for £14.45 (assuming you mean the compact one) - dunno if you have one nearby?

I've got one to try out since as you say it'll be rather cheaper to run than using the oven, plus I like the idea of having chargrilled chicken breasts to go in my summer salads :)

  • Hm, what make do you have Beanie? I got one from Ald1 and it's en route to the charity shop as it only seems to heat the top 1/3 - more of a grill than an oven

    Sorry for hijack Rising!

  • Is the halogen an oven Beanie? :o

I hate sticking the oven on just for me BUT I like the added bonus of the heat from it :o I really struggle to get downstairs warm (one small radiator in the lounge, one at the bottom of stairs & the heat goes straight upstairs :o & a tiny one in e kitchen which is useless) - the onlty time its warm is if the ovens on!

BUT it would be good in the summer when you don't need the extra heat :D

Will keep an eye on Aldi- if anyone sees them, please let me know:)

Rosa- I love chargrilled chicken in my salad too - yum!:)
