My goals for 2014:
Be nice to myself.
In a nutshell this means I start to lose the accumulated weight and I get out and exercise. I've got a wardrobe full of clothes that are a tad tight, so my first aim is to fit into these, one by one (and then wear them out).
Marg
How I relate to this Marg!!! I am with you on this one! I have a wardrobe from size 12-18 - it's ridiculous! It's gonna be our year....2019 goal

I stopped smoking 9 weeks ago and know that I won't restart. I've tried many times including taking Zyban (nasty stuff).
Read the reviews for Alan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking on Amazon and buy the book and you WILL stop. There's no scare tactics (you know why you should stop already). And you must continue to smoke while you read it!!
You have nothing to lose.
My next task is to stop drinking, but I want to get Christmas and New Year out of the way first!!
Good luck everyone!0 -
I like the sound of this thread. I've recently logged back into MSE to motivate myself for 2014. I also need to get my signature up to date too. Really, really want to go for it this year.
1. To clear 2 x credit cards and 2 x overdrafts.
2. To save £7500
3. To lose 2 stone in weight
4. To secure an interview for my chosen University course.
5. To continue to de-clutter my life - not just possessions.
6. To use a spending diary to track my spending.
7. To take up the clothes spending challenge (if there is one for 2014)
8. To buy no unnecessary toiletries or beauty products until I have used up the ones I have.
9. To run kitties for each outgoing I have each month and to save up for bigger things like car tax.
10. To make more time for myself so I can relax and de-stress.
I think actually writing these down will motivate me to keep going when things get tough!Time for some debt busting in 2015 - Light Bulb Moment 4/4/15

Well there is no reason we can't support you to put your weight on JoJo and reach your goals!!!:) x2019 goal

Great idea for a thread. I agree, writing it down makes me feel more like I need to stick to them! I have been thinking a lot today about what my goals are for the next year. My goals are -
3. Save enough money to go on holiday next year (could be argued that I shouldn't be doing this but I would rather pay back my debts slightly slower and have a holiday)
4. Start to save for a house deposit (same as above but this is also very important to me)
6. Similar to above but I also want to give myself a small budget each month for small treats. If I deny myself any treats at all then the urge to splurge will take over I think. .
Hi there - I totally agree with your points above re holidays, treats and things that matter to you. Everyone's journey is different. Some take the 'scenic' route and some go straight from A to B. I like the scenic route. I want to live a little whilst I'm debt busting. I think I would crack up if I didn't have a holiday to look forward to and have treats but my idea now of a treat or a holiday is very different to what it was in the past and of course it's all budgeted for and isn't on credit. And it's about compromise. If I have a holiday, it means it impacts somewhere else. For me, it's about living consciously and aware of my decisions and the implications of these. Before my LBM is used to make decisions with no regard whatsoever of the consequences.
