Goals for 2014

Well, firstly there's the debt to pay off - approx £7K - and although it will be hard going, I do aim to pay it all off within 2014.
I have some other financial goals, like building up a buffer in my current a/c, starting to overpay my mortgage etc, but I can't until the debt is gone.
I only have two personal goals this year: get back to doing more walking because I miss it terribly. Unfortunately, I don't enjoy walking on my own or with groups, so this is really dependent on finding a new walking partner.
My second personal goal is to meet a man. I've been single for over a decade and was perfectly happy until about 6 months ago, and gradually I've started to feel like it would be nice to be involved with someone again. Trouble is, I don't quite know how to go about it now - it suddenly doesn't feel easy in my late 40s with plenty of middle age spread
Of course, if I'm really lucky, one person might satisfy both goals :rotfl: Two for the price of one would be very MSE!0 -
I realise that at 56 I have more years behind me than I have in front of me.... I have spent the last few years being very negative and inward looking so I want 1st January 2014 to be the springboard into a more positive attitude and lifestyle.
Not expecting overnight changes but my aims are to
Live as OS as possible - make do and mend, reuse, reduce, repair and recycle, home make and home grow as much food as possible
Eat healthily and seasonally - buying from local shops and the market
Keep a diary - to log daily achievements and to plan for the days and weeks to come and to monitor spending

Another fat and poor one about to post.:rotfl:
1. To pay off the last of my debt after a long, hard 7 year slog. Also to start budgeting and stick to it properly.
2. To lose weight, about 3 stones.
3. To carry on with my PT business and hopefully work towards it being FT.
4. To learn something new. A skill, language. Not sure what yet.
5. To make my garden productive again to cut costs as much as possible fruit and veg wise.
6. Secure garden and get some chickens.
7. To look after myself.
8. To de-hoard house of all clutter and carp. Sort out storage.
9. Get house required. Save for new windows and start making it look like a home and not stig of the dumps type hovel.
10. To have an emergency fund in place by the end of the year.

So true!
My goals for this year are:- Pay off all my debts - about £7000 by next Christmas. This I will definitely achieve.
- Lose about 10 stone in weight. This I may not achieve completely, but I will be a lot healthier.
- Plaster and decorate the living room and paint the kitchen.
- Avoid alcohol. Makes me sound like a real bore, but it really doesn't agree with me and I don't really want it anymore.
- Have a family holiday in the summer for a few days for less than £500.
- Try not to be as snappy with my kids. We've had a stressful year, but it's not their fault.
- Spend when it is only absolutely essential - avoiding the shops and shopping online for food and other essentials to avoid temptations.

I'm fat and poor too so I'd better make some goals for 2014! :rotfl:
1, Pay off 10K from the debt. Last year started really well but it all fell apart last autumn so hopefully I've learned from this and 2014 will be the year our debt really goes down.
2, Save at least 400 towards next Christmas. 300 in cash and 100 in Amazon vouchers from Swagbucks.
3, Get back into gardening and stop sitting on my bum!
4, Eat healthily and lose some weight. Specifically NO TAKEAWAYS!!Total Debt at LBM (Dec 12) 22,255.26
New year New LBM!

Another one joining in...
My goals for 2014:
1. Be debt free by Dec 2014.
I've got no cc debts any more, just the mortgage, but I am not declaring myself 'debt free' until that is paid (keeps my mind focused). Should have enough saved to clear it off by the time the fixed rate ends in Nov 2014.
2. De-clutter the house.
Will stop me eating, good exercise and I can see if I can make any money from selling some stuff. Win-win situation
3. Be nice to myself.
In a nutshell this means I start to lose the accumulated weight and I get out and exercise. I've got a wardrobe full of clothes that are a tad tight, so my first aim is to fit into these, one by one (and then wear them out).
MargDebts (incl Mortgage) at LBM (24/09/08) £102849  Now £0. DFD 1st July 20190 -
