  • So basically we're all fat and poor? ;)
(I hope everyone takes this as the joke it's intended to be!)

Definitely sounds like it!!! LOL - I've often thought that for me there is a connection ( I used to spend when I felt down about my appearance. I still feel down a lot of the time about how I look but I have just tried to channel it into other things, not spending!!!)

  • Fab thread!!!

    1. Save £5000 (want to buy a house so this will be a start)
    2. Weigh 10st 7lbs (long long longgggggggg road)
    3. Get into exercise (I am a lazy sod)
    4. Keep to my shopping budget (Not good at this at all)
    5. Get a job (This should probably have been number 1! Oops)
    6. Pass my driving test (Theory passes 13th December 2013)

I am sure that is it.

We should keep this thread active while updating on our goals as we achieve them.

  • I joined a similar thread last January and we all updated in December. Out of the 5 goals I set I achieved 3 completely, 1 75% and the other I changed my mind. Make sure to come back next year and update!

    * work on social life. This year on my birthday I felt really lonely and decided I won't feel that way again next!

Hi - I felt really lonely on my birthday this year too. It was awful. :( I should have made plans but I didn't because I had a low mood. I vowed that that wouldn't happen again either. Let's keep to that vow x

Already started! I dropped the price of an item I'm trying sell on ebay (it's third run now) by £10 - I figured I'd rather sell the item for a bit less than I think it's worth and have that money to put towards debt, than keep the item that I don't need. Never had trouble selling this sort of thing before, but there's a first time for everything.

I won't own a rapidly depreciating cash guzzling lump of plastic. metal and rubber otherwise known as a car. I will use my Honda scooter for personal transportation and hire a car when I absolutely need one.

I will save 10% of my income.

I won't upgrade my cell phone, computer or TV unless they die on me.

I won't make any impulse purchases.

I won't waste a single baht (I live in Thailand).

I won't take a holiday abroad. Thailand is paradise on earth, anywhere else is an anti climax.

I would totally agree with that Asiacat! We went to Oz, HK and Thailand last year for a month, LOVED Thailand, would return in a heartbeat if we didn't have so much debt!!! Yes, this trip contributed to the debt, lol.
