  • Excellent thread,
    My goals for 2014 are

    1. Finish and submit my dissertation
    2. Finish my Tefl course
    3. Pay off the credit cards - 8000? Actual figure was 4600, didn't borrow any more thank God!
    4. Declutter and reorganise the whole house.
    5. Save 5000.
    6. Be good at my job - be organised, confident.
    7. Get a boyfriend. a nice kind solvent (!) man.
    8. Loose two stone.
    9. Complete a half marathon
    10. Drive on the motorway
    11. Make and keep male friends
    12. Write. everyday.

    I think that covers it.

My goals aren't going so well really. Been distracted and caught up in time wasting activity. Plus just eaten pretty much a whole smarties Easter egg..........I think I need a rethink!

    Hello all

May I join your Goals for 2014? I know I am a bit late to the party but you all seem to be progressing in the right direction and it seems such a supportive thread.

I am currently on a self-managed DMP and on Income Support after my partner walked out leaving myself and our toddler up the creek... so to speak. After a few months of feeling sorry for myself I have decided to stop living in the Land of Mopesville and make a new, super-improved, highly productive, fun life for the little one and I.

My goals for the rest of 2014 are...

1)Become self-employed, I hate being on IS... I have always worked and need to work to feel like I have a purpose. Being self employed will create the flexibility I need to make sure LO is well looked after.

2)I need to lose 42 lbs... months of comfort eating and never dropping all that baby-weight have pushed me up to a size 16/18. I have a wardrobe full of size 10 and 12 clothes... I refuse to bin them. Fat!!! You gotta go.

3)Heal naturally. I have a nasty hiatus hernia (thanks to pregnancy) and the doctor's put me on strong PPI's that supress all the stomach acid. These tablets have a lot of side effects (I lost a lot of hair last year and had very bad stomach cramps because of them) but I think losing weight and eating less carbs will improve the situation no end. I have researched this on the net for quite a few months now... and this seems to be the way forward.

4)Finish writing my sit com. It's for a local Am Dram Soc... I enjoy writing and they are easily pleased lol... so it works for both of us.
I have been very demotivated with writing since the end of my relationship... I think I have had a bit of post-natal depression to be fair, however my energy is starting to garner momentum... so I will crack on with this asap.

5)Clean and de-clutter house and keep on top of it. The house is relatively tidy... but is full of Eb@yable junk... I want a lovely minimum fuss habitat by the end of the year.
Out with the old and all that...

6)Pass my driving test. I have failed three tests now... bloody reversing backwards tut. My theory expired in December so I have that to sit again... I have let the world slip by the last few months 'sigh.'

7)Stick to grocery budgets every month. This is sooooo hard.

8)Add to my full & final settlement fund. This will be easier when I am working again. At the moment... being on Income Support, there isn't any money to spare.

9)Give love, patience and kindness in abundance and hopefully receive the same. :heart2:

And that's about it. Thanks for reading all. xx

Many thanks for the warm welcome DollyRocker. :)

Yes losing weight is soooo bloody hard, I can diet really well until my little one goes to bed and then it all goes to pot.
I seem to graze most of the evening whilst watching TV or surfing the net. But today... it has to stop.

    Good luck with your goals.
