Hi,
Long term lurker but thought I should join in.
1st debt - Halifax 0% £ 2697.38
2nd debt sainsburys loan 8.54% = £7954.09. (This is the total if i let it run full term. If i pay this off early, the total will be less!)
Total = £10651.47
I most probably won't be debt free by Christmas but I hope to make a big dent in the total!
ThanksI will win a big prize one day!0 -

Any tips on cutting grocery spend? Its just me and a cat but i spend loads... I dont have a car so cant shop around so im restricted to online shopping really....
the cat eats a lot for a kitty but i dont waste food....
There is a grocery challenge on the forums, what they recommend is to work out exactly what you're spending for the first month (write it down or keep receipts) then try to reduce it gradually. For online shopping try MySupermarket - they compare your basket against the other supermarkets and tell you if you'd be cheaper somewhere else. It's worth trying a cheaper brand as well for some things. I don't notice much difference between passata for 90p or passata for 29p.0 -

My current car is an R reg Fiesta, it's had a bit of a battering but just keeps ploughing on, love it! My grandad bought it when it was 2, then my Auntie had it for a few years (they both live in London so when I got it it had really low mileage) and then I got it in 2010 I think it was. If I won the lottery, I'd have it spruced up and aircon, heated sides added etc, and keep it running forever. :rotfl:
It's pay day tomorrow so I'm looking forward to making some payments. The manual one (savings against Loan) tomorrow, then the standing orders come out on the 1st. :beer:0 -
Hi everyone,
I haven't been able to post for a while, but finally got our new house and moved in this weekend.
I think the new place may slow the overpayments a bit, because the bills are all likely to be larger here. Hopefully I will still be able to make regular additional payments, but kind of waiting to see what the levels of the bills turn out to be.
I have been saving my spare money in a separate account, keeping it safe and earmarked for paying the credit card, but also available for emergency use should things go wrong.. Is it still ok to report this offsetting as debts being cleared? Or should I wait until I have actually paid it to the credit card account?DFBX2016 #024
Target = £10804
Paid = £24340 -
DD265 I'm with you! I have to avert my eyes from all this fiesta hate :rotfl::rotfl: I wish I still had my old fiesta, but mine did die (head gasket cracked) and I was really sad to see it go.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand! Welcome 29Found you're number 142, welcome to the challenge!
Argomatt I actually tend to declare when I've just put the money to one side as well. It will sometimes be a few days before I transfer it anywhere. Good luck with the new house!0 -
