  • I feel so smug when I do my shopping and it's under budget - like HAHAHAHAHA Tesc0 you can't trick me into buying a load of crap I don't want and you WILL deliver it to me for free this week :D

ah, has Kerri popped then?! She must've by now surely i think she was due on the 2nd?/

Yes it was the 2nd, but that means it could have been any time from Christmas to next week I suppose!
I'm aiming for....£15000 as my figure please :( it looks quite daunting seeing it in writing,
though I have made a start on it!

Ok, have added your total now. Good luck!

Forgot I actually mean to chip in on the online shopping - really interested to see this £10 thing - is that a monthly subscription to cover all deliveries? I don't order food online, but that sounds like something worth remembering for future.

Yep it's £10 a month for deliveries at any time of any day with a minimum order of £40 - I think they do an off peak one that's a bit less but you don't have as much choice with days then :)

Ah, that would be quite good if I regularly spent over £40! It's really rare I'll spend more than £20 on food, unless it's a big stock-up week.

Am I allowed to ask questions here when thinking about how to best economise?

My Q is, who online grocery shops? Does anyone do tescos block delivery charge? I'm wondering if this would be more economical and help with meal planning.

I wish I had a chest freezer for bulk buying meat and batch cooking!

Sorry if this post isn't right for the thread, not sure of the rules yet.

When I looked at the block delivery charge I realised that it worked out more expensive than booking the cheaper delivery times - having said that I work from home so can facilitate the £3.50 slots. It's like everything to do with the supermarkets make sure you don't trust what they're telling you and work it out for yourself. Another tip I was given was not to just import your 'favourites' into your basket week after week but to check the offers each time for the best savings. I have a big upright freezer and I do think it's worth it's weight in gold perhaps if you have the space you could try and save up for one out of your grocery budget?

A meager offering this week as January is going to be one expensive month. Seems the world and his wife has their birthday in January in our family!
