Some of you may remember that I was made redundant in July. Sadly, I've had no luck finding a job yet, so where I had hoped to use my redundancy to pay off all my debts, I'm having to be a bit more selective about what I pay off and when.

On the plus side, I managed to get a 0% balance transfer from the worst of my credit cards so that has bought me a bit more time to pay that off.

£2483.91 paid off in August, making a total of £10987.90 for the year to date for #124

I'm way past my target now, but that was based on me working at the time, and not having a redundancy cheque. I'll keep going with the challenge though, as I do want to pay off as much as I can. I'd like to think I could make it up to a nice round £15000 by the end of the year, as I have a couple of 0% deals coming to an end that I'd like to get paid off before I start incurring interest; but that does rather depend on the work situation.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

I hope you find a job soon Karb.

Good luck with the interview Mat-Lock.

Nolongerindenial. Don't be too hard on yourself. You can only pay off what you can. there are many of us that won't pay off all the debt before the end of the year, me included, but even if we only pay off an extra £10 its a step in the right direction.

You're right debt is not worth loosing your health or marriage over. Lets face it what can they do, stand you against a wall and shoot you.......no. You're doing what you can to sort the problem along with the rest of us. We are all doing the right thing and if it takes a few years so be it.

One thing for sure I wouldn't have been so far along with the payments if it wasn't for this thread. Just keep checking in as we are all here for each other.

Now I do have an update but have forgotten my figures so will be back later to update.

Sorry to hear that lots of people on here are struggling with their 'situations' at the moment, it has been the reason why I haven't posted sometimes because I don't want people to feel any worse when they see others reaching their targets or making payments. BUT I just wanted to say I was where some of you were a few years ago and didn't know which way to turn but little changes eventually make big differences and I am happy to report today that another overpayment has gone out on my mortgage which means I have met my target!!!!
    #78 £15,964/£15,000
But also like alot of people on here this isn't the end for me and I am going to keep going to pay off as much as I can before Christmas and then hopefully be finally debt free by 2015!
Keep going everybody, it's been a long journey but I think I can finally see my destination.

    Morning all.
Even though I havn't been around much I have still been reading all the posts.since loosing a second job I have been living off a cc a bit which was one of the things that got me into trouble in the first place.i am going on holiday tomorrow which although I am really looking forward to it money wise it's a struggle.Ihave decided to keep my total the same for now and record dd's that come off each month.will try and get some over payments going when I get back.
on the bright side:) I have been getting calls from the agency again and have done my first shift for 2 years.i have had someone staying in my spare room this week and a possibility that someone else may return.I have sold afew things on ebay.Lastly but not least, there is enough money in the bank to cover this months dd's.
    have a good day everyone.
