One overpayment to credit card and one of my mortgages. Total now stands at:

    #058 £12,160.05/ £12,600(96.51% paid)

I've worked out that the payments I've made this year have been over 60% of my total income each month - quite proud considering I have two teenage kids to support on my own. The way I have achieved this is not to buy anything for myself this year, had no holidays and cut my food shopping in half by cooking every meal from scratch. Although I work nearly 50 hours per week, it has become less of a chore as time has gone on and I think it is now my way of life. I've even lost a stone in weight by not eating out or buying takeaways. Will definitely continue but may treat myself to a few clothes next year.:D

    April 2021 £85,000

I have an interview for a promotion at work to become our team leader. Wish me luck. If I nail it then that's more salary to pay off debts.

  • I dont think I have a cat in hells chance of paying my debts off this year :(

And trust me when I say it hurts like crazy to admit that, I just want to curl up in a ball and cry my eyes out as I have given it everything and even put my personal finances back into complete disarray and put my family through hell, and took my business to the brink of going under.. I had a huge loss of temper yesterday followed by breaking down in tears with my wife because of the pressure im putting on myself and its not worth ruining my life and marriage for the sake of a few grand.

I now have to let the debts wait a little, they will get there due payments and will reduce, but I can not afford to go bust business wise to clear my arrears..

I will get there eventually - and will keep my progress updated

Don't worry if you don't get it paid off this year. I know I won't get mine paid off by December, but the way I'm looking at it is, I have paid more than what I thought I would since I've joined this great thread. It's kept me on track and encouraged me to pay off just that extra wee bit more that I have found I can afford after looking at my finances and cutting out on things.

Don't get yourself worked up and into a tizzy. Take each day/week/month as it comes. And Just remember that even it it seems a little payment it's still something :)

It's not worth making yourself upset/ill. You WILL do it eventually. I promise :)

I've found that coming into this thread so encouraging and welcoming no matter how bad of a day/week/month I've had the support on here is amazing.
