Hi All,
#204 signing in.
Well I managed to have a good start today paying a big chunk due to the fact I had an almost double month salary (new job and didn't get paid properly in first month so definitely kick started my frugal ways plus had some money paid back that was owed to me!).
However, was slightly annoyed when I took in some cash to the bank to pay part cash on one of my cards and the cashier told me one of the £20 notes I was paying with was counterfeit and he would have to retain it!!! I asked him to show it me against a "proper" note that I was also paying in and to be fair, you would never notice unless you scrutinized it carefully. Needless to say, was none too happy losing £20 just like that and the cashier was not very sympathetic. I felt like a criminal when he was filling out a retention of counterfeit currency form and put my address and bank details on there! lol
The moral of the story guys is be on your guard and check your notes!
On the plus side, my status is now:
#204 £4375.00/£18854.36 (23.20%)

My girlfriend went through the wardrobes on Sunday and cleared out about 4 bags of clothes and I noticed half of them still had the tags on.
I questioned why she bought stuff and then never wore it. I got a scalding look back so I just scarpered back to the lounge.
She could have made some money back but she isn't a frugalleer like me haha straight in the charity bin they went.
Haha - no you're definitely not meant yo point out our stuff to us! To be fair, I did give selling items on eBay a go, but just found it was a lot of effort for the money. I'd often get just 99p for an item, but people took days to pay for things, so I'd have to make 2 trips to the post office. It was only an extra mile, but if you're only making 89p after fees...
princessfrugal that's a shame! I was talking to someone who worked in a bank note printing facility last week, and they were telling me about how to spot fakes. Sadly it's in your pocket before you get a chance to realise...0 -
