Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2014!

I also agree that 'living a little' by spending a bit of money on treats regularly is a good thing. If you can still maintain a reasonable quality of life while also paying more than the minimum off the debts (and not getting into more debt!) then that seems like a good balance, but I understand that different things work for different people!
I'd get out of debt much quicker if I stopped going to the pub every weekend! But I'd be miserable if I never went out so its a trade off really.
Anyway, £35 paid off the debt this morning! Still on 30%....

I have an obsessive personality, probably useful being self employed. I have a total of 5 cars in varying state of restoration, one of them on the road at once, one due to get sold when I get a new Power steering rack fitted within the fortnight (i still need to order it).. two that have been garden ornaments for 6+ years and one thats just about ready to get a MOT within about 4 hours work and a cost of £0 and get put back on the road.
One of the garden ornaments needs some fuel line and completely wiring up (relatively easy as its going to be a track car, only needs the brakes bleeding and MOT spec wiring (lights wipers and engine) and then it can get an MOT and await me booking a track day, might get finished this year, then theres my baby that I am doing a complete restoration on. This year I have spent ~£1000 on car parts, which is a lot of money and could have been spent on clearing debts, but one of them was a engine I have wanted for over 6 years and the right deal came up at a silly low price that I could not refuse! Since then I have sold nearly ~£700 in unneeded parts so this years car fun has cost me just ~£300. Dont get me wrong these cars are not very financially valuable as a whole, all 4 that are not on the road would probably see £1500, one of them will double in price when I get it MOT'd before it gets sold clearing the outstanding £300 meaning working on cars this year has a net cost of ~£0 for endless amusement!
Money doesnt bring happiness, Love brings happiness and I have two kinds of love, the love of my family, and the love of my cars!£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Hello again everybody,
What I meant when I last posted was don't spend your time wishing days away waiting for pay day but also don't get yourselves into debt by spending too much money and then feeling depressed because you've got none!
30 years ago when my son was a baby I had no money but managed to get by. We went to the park, had picnics and went on bike rides all relatively free! When he went to school I managed to get a job and then started spending money to the point that I was over £50,000 in debt and wishing days away until pay day! Thanks to this site I have mended my ways and now am debt free except for 2 mortgages but what I can't get back is the time I wished away!DF by Christmas 2014 #78 £18,964.15/£15,000

I get paid 7 days a weekso im always wishing I was being paid more and pushing as hard as I can, the work I do now shows in 3-6 months in increase in money in...
I think we all know what you mean - your quality of life is more precious than money, but at the same time when you have no money and owe a lot of money, your quality of life suffers as people chase you for it.
I dream of the day when my bank balance says £0.00 in big black writing! im working towards it but realise the time with my child is the most precious thing I have and seeing the smile on his face on a day out (be it to the park, Thomas the tank day out etc)£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
