  • Morning All

I've slipped back into a bad habit at the beginning of this month - we've had 4 meals out/ takeaways and it has taken a sizeable chunk of my food shopping money for the month so can't pay as much debt off. I'm annoyed at myself and could use the excuse of long hours etc, but that won't pay my debts.

Going to go food shopping soon and try to pick up some bargains to counterbalance. Might have a few more veggie meals and less meat to compensate.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Current payments stand at:

    #058: £6,021.85/ £12,600 (47.79%)
    Blitz that mortgage
    Jun 2016 £152,000
    April 2021 £85,000

i'm really annoyed. OH does not keep track of his finances and we have just worked out that in february £161 was spent on virtual xbox stuff.........he swears he didn't buy it, the support people said itt was common when you buy a particular thing and there was some kind of hack, so angry and frustrated tbh that is a lot of money... i'm not saying he need s to check daily like me but a bbit more control would be good, i can't do everything!

  • Hi everyone

I haven't posted for ages, so #153 here a bit of an update

No extra payments yet for me, however I'm updating my s/sheet using my spending diary & my outgoings are definitely reducing, and I'm aiming to spend less that I earn (obviously essential before I can start making extra payments!)

What's the saying... "slowly, slowly, catchy monkey"? Or have I just made that up?!

Well done to everyone who is managing to make over-payments - you all give me hope that I will soon be able to do the same, so thank you! :o

Managed to get my car insurance renewal down by £65, pleased with that, especially since Admiral didnt hike it up from last year and kept it the same, so an overall saving :D Highly recommended!

Paying it all in one go by debit card so must remember to leave that amount in my account! So used to transferring all my spare out :D

What a pain! At least you've spotted it now. I have to confess though, I'm not one that regularly goes through my statements either. I have a good idea of what my bank balance should be, so I'd notice if something unexpected came off though...

they were really small payments of like £6 or less, so you probably wouldn't notice at a quick glance. crazy though!

still 12 days until pay day :(
