Best/Worst (or most disappointing) wins of 2013...

Well it certainly was quite a slow year for me, but all the effort was worth it as my best wins were a cheque for £1000 and 3 nights in Barcelona with flights (we're going next year so fingers crossed when we return I still classify it as the best win :rotfl:)
The most disappointing was the quality of items I received from an online clothing store. One even had a security tag on it which confused me!! (as online would have had a warehouse right?! i.e no need for security tags) They also didn't respond to my emails about missing clothes etc but eventually I gave up as there was nothing I would have wanted on there as compensation!0 -
Due to having less time to enter comps due to work, i had few wins this year but
my best win was 2 x gold tickets to watch the cricket England v Australia - it wasnt my thing, but i certainly made my friends hubby very happy and to see others enjoy a win made me just as happy.
Most disappointing was the Uk art lovers on facebook £50 email voucher for art on the website cheapest costing £250.0 -

I won the art lovers one too, very disappointing!
I also won a book from bundles of books blog, but I never received it. I emailed them about it and had a reply to say they will check but I've heard nothing since and that was weeks ago. Now they are ignoring my emails!!!
My best win was a twin home phone set with answering machine.0 -
Loved every single one of my prizes this year, all have been used by me or given to charity.0

Have only won 2 things in 2013 but both have been brilliant so don't really have a best&most disappointing.
May 2013. Holiday to centre parks for me, my husband and our 4 children in one of their luxury lodges with spending money, competition organisers also threw in highchair, travel cot and upgraded us to make sure we were within a few mins walking distance of the main facilities for the little ones, all very much appreciated extras which were kindly offered by them (no way I would have pushed my luck asking for these after winning!) total was over £1000 of holiday
December 2013: 42" hd tv, home cinema system and sky's top hd+ package free for a year- all being installed next week
Fingers crossed 2014 is good to you all0 -
Only comped for half of last year, and won relatively low value items - but my best wins were either 40 Warner Brothers DVDs or a lovely £50 New Look voucher - loved both of them!
No disappointing ones, did win some Duct Tape though which was funny! :rotfl:0 -
My best has to be our wedding photography. I'd been entering competitions, then went away to Florida, where my boyfriend proposed in front of Cinderella's Castle - then we got back to find a letter saying we'd won a wedding photography package. I'm not too sure what I would have done if we hadn't got engaged, haha. I have won more expensive prizes, but that was just perfect timing.
Disappointing prize must be that My Family Value pack or whatever it was.I like to make money
Best wins: £3,000 luxury holiday, holiday in Cornwall, £250 Murad Skincare hamper, angle grinder
:j Make £10 a day challenger - it pays for trips to Florida! :j

Love this thread
Best (as in most valuable) - a year's supply of dog food. We have five huskies (!!!!!!) so go through it very quickly and this has saved us a lot of money!
Best (favourite) - either the solid wood owl table I won (gorgeous piece of furniture and so so heavy!) or the 6 months supply of bouquets which has made my lovely mum so happy
Disappointing - an item of clothing from Karma Clothing on Twitter. I am never ungrateful for wins and have donated this to charity as part of my January clearout but it was a horrible white cropped vest top with I Love England on it. I don't even live in England and it was just so tacky looking. Hoping someone can get some use for it for the summer or fancy dress!Feb wins: Angry Birds mug, £250 Perfume Shop bundle0 -
This is a great idea of a thread.
Best wins
A Lego train set. My little boy had started full time school and they had a Lego train set there. He didn't stop talking about it. But when I looked at them, there were £80.00!. A few days later I won one on twitter, his face on Christmas Day you can imagine
Also a huge Thomas and friends bundle of toys I won from a baby magazine. It just turned up, only after googling it I knew where it came from. My youngest is autistic and is Thomas obsessed. Since Xmas he has played with every single toy daily.
Worst
The higgley picnic bag. Came with loads of coupons to have a picnic. I looked everywhere for the food and couldn't find any of it!.
A sliver jewellery cloth cleaner, but it's the way the competition went that is the worst. Jewellery shop on fb given away '50'pieces of jewellery. Had 41 people enter. ANd from what I can gather from what was written on there wall before it got deleted that many of the so called winners received silver jewellery cloths!Thank you to all the posters

Good luck to all the compers.:T0 -

TOTAL 2014 £1250
TOTAL 2015: £500 winning:2 tkts to theatre, Cap1 Footie, weeks holiday in lakes.0
