As Nanamia has said, for anyone who thinks Manchester escapes the grim weather, trust me "sunny manchester", is never sunny. There is are rare day in the middle of August when you shout quick quick get the sun lounger, get the suntan lotion, and by the time you get outside, the suns permanently back behind a cloud again.

This sounds a lot like my Welsh hometown! In the words of the Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert, "it rains so much in Wales that I was 13 before I learnt that you can actually take a cagoule off!" :D

I'm glad to hear your foot is on the mend, and I'd recommend arnica cream to help with the bruising.
It's good that a cheap little thing like having your nails done makes you feel happier, it's worthwhile doing if it helps you, just ignore people being huffy about it. I bought my friend some OPI varnishes at a bargain price from HomeSense for her birthday and she LOVED them, she's like you and feels so much better for just a simple thing like having brightly coloured nails. It's the little things that make it all worthwhile you know :)
  • BBThree - That's great that you treat yourself & get your nails done. I got a voucher for a local beauty salon that does nails for Christmas but I've never had my nails done before. Still to make an appointment but I fancy getting my nails painted purple (my fave colour).
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

K stands for a word which is often preceeded by 'door', and H is followed by 'shoulders, knees and toes'...

Busy couple of days here. 7 big sacks full of clothes and toys to charity and some bags of rubbish in the bins too. I will be free of clutter!
DS2 had his twelve week jabs today poor baby. Had to smile at the expression on his face though. He's such a smiley baby and he was beaming at both nurses until they stabbed his little thighs. Then whilst screaming the look he gave them made absolutely clear he didn't want to be their friend anymore.:p

Then an afternoon at a huge indoor play centre near us. It is really good tbh. Adults can go in with LOs, so I've had a workout. Mum sat with baby DS2 who loved looking at the colours and hearing all the children. She had her new Kindle Fire I bought her for Christmas to entertain her, she LOVES it! DS1 had a "nice, lovely time" bless him. Only thing is I now seem to have yet another cold:mad:
Got a playdate planned tomorrow. Four mums (including me) all with boys born weeks apart, we met at a baby group. Now we all have a second baby, three of us had our second baby the same month- weird eh? Anyway it has been great as we have been a support to each other. DS loves playing with other little boys too so good to have a network of friends for him :-)
Slightly stressed about Christening, weekend after next. Was trying to keep it small but have had the "where's my invite?" question from cousins.....
On the plus side outfit I bought DS1 from M&co is great. 18-24 months fit beautifully, with adjustable waist pulled til its teeny. He might grow into 2-3 by the time he's 5 lol.

Heehee i have just cracked my clay face mask laughing at that, thankyou OMO
freespirit i do hope that you can get you problem with the paperwork and your KH sorted out. i know exactly where you are coming from re worrying about stuff, i let the most rediciulous things get to me and they do eat you up inside. it sounds to me like he was claiming you as a business partner for tax purposes something his accountant probably advised him to do:mad: hugs and calming vibes for you

MRSMONEYPENNY thankyou, isnt it awful that feeling in the pit of your stomach, like you say sometimes over the most silly thing, that other people would just get up and sort out straightaway and it wouldnt affect them, im glad you had a lovely day on DH birthday, and i know what you mean i cant open the pinterest email until i know i havent got anything that needs doing for the next two hours :rotfl:

    Hi All

I havent posted for about a week so I have got some serious catching up to do, and so will post with proper responses later,
Basically, the reason I have been MIA is because I had a bit of childish meltdown worrying about the biopsy I had on Tuesday and shut myself off a bit.
I know a normal person would have probably been worrying about the biopsy beforehand, but because I have real issues with hospitals and surgeons (as some of you will know I had 2 operations and a really bad time last year), I was far more worried about the fact I had to attend very minor surgery at a hospital, that actually stopping and thinking about what the surgery was for.
The hospital visit and biopsy was actually fine, but once they said that the results take 4-6 weeks, I suddenly realised what I was there for and what they were looking for, and had a bit wobble.
Monday to Wednesday I worked from home anyway (resting comedy foot injury) and Thursday I went into work and it was horrible as my head was all over the place, and Friday I went into work after no sleep, and foot pain and basically stressing about the biopsy. My boss said a few words to me (not much more than hello really) and I burst into tears and was crying all the place.
He was absolutely lovely and said "just go home, don't log on and work, don't answer your mobile, and just rest. Oh and BTW it's not a holiday or sick day, it's just a have a rest day so don't worry about it and don't record it anywhere". I started crying all over the place again cos he was so nice :o
I did nothing on Friday at all except had a good sleep, and slowly over the weekend with a lot of help from DD we did a project and de-cluttered both our wardrobes. (With her mainly doing the taking stuff in and out bit, and me mainly sitting on the bed and supervising)
Hubby took 3 bags to the charity shop on Sunday morning, and clearing out space cheered me up and distracted me.
I think basically my wobble is sort of over and I just needed to get it all out of my system and having Friday at home doing nothing was needed as my head was all over the place.
So sorry guys. I admit I had a wobble, which is embarrassing as its nothing compared to what other people deal with) but now I am back xxx

Oh BBTHREE i have been worrying about not hearing from you since last tues hospital appt, omg dont you dare be embarrassed, after all you have been through in the last year, plus the hosp bit plus the reason you were having the biopsy, if you didnt have a wobble after all that i would be worried, you should be so proud of yourself for even getting there and going through with it, i am absolutely terrified of hospitals, drs, operations etc and i know the hardest part is turning up. What a lovely boss you have, it makes such a change to hear of a nice caring one, and im so glad you went home to bed, it probably did you a world of good. Next you can treat yourself to some nice new clothes to fill that wardrobe again!! And you keep getting your nails done, when my DD1 does mine it really lifts me so i know what you mean :) Ah someone who does know Mary Mungo and Midge yayy, BTW you do make me giggle i cant believe you whacked your foot on the door frame

PLODDINGALONG :) ahh my lovely sending you hugs x
AMEY omg peanut butter brownies sounds divine
FLUFFYSOX thankyou :) oh i used to hate taking the kids for their jabs i used to feel so guilty when their little faces suddenly went from smiley to crying

  • Have completed todays challenges :)

Women are more likely to ruminate when they are depressed. This includes crying to relieve emotional tension, trying to figure out why you are depressed and talking to your friends about your depression. However, rumination has been found to maintain depression and even make it worse. Men, on the other hand, tend to distract themselves when they are depressed. Unlike rumination, distraction can help reduce depression

    1. Complete daily sudoku challenge
    2. Complete brain age test on DS
    3. Go a whole day without television (catchup tv will be on all day tomorrow :D)
    4. Make homemade pizzas from scratch, including the base
