Evening everyone!
I had another crack at the Boots sale, I had thought of a couple of other things I could get that I'd have a use for. Then when I put something in my basket I found one of the main things I had originally wanted is now sold out! Argh! I give up, I'm obviously not allowed to get things in sales0 -

Is Puffin a browser which lets you do flash? I've never heard of it before but just googled it. Ive always done adpoints on safari without a problem. Hopefully your points will reappear if you leave it for a week or so, they might think you've lost interest and try to entice you back?
OMO thanks for the app suggestions, that'll keep me even more busy for a while! It's nice to have some background noise whilst attempting to do the boring household jobs!
CupOfChai I hear the 75% off sale starts online at around 4am on Wed if you fancy your chances? They might add more stock for the sale too if you're lucky.0 -
Nanamia-the corset is gorgeous, but didn't fit. On the plus side, it's because it's too big, even though I'm sure I measured myself properly. So I've contacted them about exchanging it for a different size, but I'll have to pay to send it back, which is annoying.
And yes, I did watch 7:39 last week. I'm a big Sheridan Smith fan, and I really enjoyed it. I can't remember if I mentioned it in here, or just to DH, but it reminded me a bit of a book called Let's Meet On Platform 8 (another Carole Matthews one).
Just in case word hasn't reached anyone in here yet, big rumours about the Boots 75% sale starting this Wednesday. I'm out that day anyway, so I'll pop into a branch and see what I can get. Can't be bothered to queue outside for it to open, mind you. I'd rather be in bed at that hour!
Edited to add-I see it's just been mentioned!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Thanks Arthien and Ruth_honey. I might have a bit of a look but I don't fancy my chances much tbh, I'm at work/in bed asleep because of having work in the morning, so by the time I can get a look it'll probably have been stripped bare!
Ruth_honey I thought the exact same thing about 7:39! I didn't watch it but to begin with when I saw it advertised I thought it actually might be an adaptation of that book.0 -

In a typical depression, rather than sleeping less, eating less, and losing weight, the opposite is seen: sleeping excessively, eating more, (especially carbohydrates) and gaining weight. Feelings of guilt associated with depression are also more prevalent and pronounced in women. Women also have a higher incidence of thyroid problems. Since hypothyroidism can cause depression, this medical problem should always be ruled out by a physician in women who are depressed

Cupofchai similar thing happened to me on the boots site and I gave up ha haven't got the stamina anymorexxx
Ruth I love watching Sheridan Smith too, I'd put the "let's meet on platform 8" in my wish list. I will get it when I've finished this one, really enjoying it (Cottage by the Sea) I tend to be a little like that, find an author that I like and read all I can. I've done a little googling but nobody seems to be crediting the story "The 7.39" to Carole Matthews tho. What a shame about your corset (good that it's too big) hope you manage to get it in the right size xxx
Freespirit oh no! that blooming pesky nerve again aaarrgh!!! Even so you managed today's challenges, you really are a superstar. Which documentary did you watch ? xxx
Thanks for asking my lovelies, had a great catch up this morning with our lovely neighbours, administered special Nanamia TLC, cakes, coffee and a lots of chuckling. Then this evening DH of one of this mornings visitors popped over cos he'd missed the cakes haha so a good day all in all. Gutted this morning though after being strict with myself all week I managed to put 2lb on, it's a total mystery unless it's my "star" week ! Only time will tell. xxxThe secret of Christmas

Freespirit the strangest thing happened this evening. I was showing dd the really old cartoon app, and I clicked on a Christmas cartoon from the 1930's. Well I guess it was from around then as it had a Charlie Chaplin toy in it.
And I knew every word of it and what was going to happen next.
I asked both the kids if they had ever seen it and they both laughed and said no. And I suppose it's not the type of cartoon they would show on TV now, and I don't actually remember ever watching it before either. So now I'm wondering if I watched it when I was a kid and it just got stuck in my memory. Of all the things to remember. A crackly old Christmas cartoon. :rotfl:0
