BBTHREE I'm so sorry to hear about last week, sounds horrible and perfect justification for a wobbler! Huge hugs - don't stay away next time, come on here and cry/rant/throw virtual things at virtual walls.

Today was an eye-opener. As you'll have gathered, I work closely with a number of people who are on very, very good salaries. (Unfortunately my proximity to them does not reflect my own earnings, it's pure circumstance!) So today I was invited to the very big meeting, with all of the very big bosses to discuss something important to my area of work. This never happens to anyone so I was very excited to see what was behind the door, so to speak. Well, talk about the Wizard of Oz! I'm not sure what I expected of a room full of people on £200k+ but let's just say I left wondering how they'd got themselves dressed this morning! Plenty of opinions, but my word, what a dose of sh*te! Let's all take comfort - we could be rich, but blimey we'd be stupid with it :rotfl:

Nana, sounds as if Australia offers a great quality of life. My niece and nephew both love being outdoors so know this move is the best for them. But we will have to get working on that teleportation machine, won't we? I almost don't want to ask this but do you have your next trip planned yet? It's such a big and expensive undertaking, I'm already thinking about how to put some pennies away to cover a visit and my sister hasn't even left yet!

Keeping an eye out for jobs now, just in case the new boss doesn't work out. I'm meeting with the headhunters on Friday so hoping I can encourage them we need someone who er...spends less on curtains! Been feeling quite suffocated where I live, there isn't much in the way of jobs, so I'm very lucky in my current role, but in the past I've turned down better paid jobs elsewhere because I've got my mum to think about (early onset dementia for any newbies catching up!). Now with sister moving, nearly everyone has been saying "How awful, that's you stuck here forever now..." (not realising my sister doesn't do anything for my mum) except one person who told me today I was being ridiculous and that she'd learned far too late that you have to put yourself first. I think it's the same thing I'd say to someone else but it's very hard to do isn't? I just think I'd worry about my mum if I was far away, although in truth she's well looked after and hasn't the foggiest who I am, never mind where I am! Starting to think I could perhaps consider the wider North (Manchester here I come NanaM!) but lots to think about.

The other pondering me and OH have been doing is around adoption. Does anyone have any experience of this, from any angle? I have two colleagues who adopted within the last 2 years and another who is in the assessment phase at the moment, so have some people to ask but would welcome any thoughts.

Also, KH are my initials! Can we use TFWWATW for the exes instead? (You can all use your imagination for that one :rotfl:)

hope everyone is well, hugs good wishes and enough positive vibes to get us through the day

BBthree, special hugs to you and your gorgeously cheeryful painted nails, its no one elses business what you treat yourself to or how you spend your own money and if having happy fingernails brightens your day then poo to those who get narked by it.

loved the way of describing what KH meant. re the longer version i think i worked out the first three letters but after that im afraid i was guessing LOL.

I really shouldn't try to use my brain so early in the morning before I have fed it coffee and food - I can't even start to guess at what that might mean :o or does that mean I'm just more :A ;)

i just saw this on pintrest
You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them , they should have behaved better!
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead of them.

im going to step away from pinterest now or nothing will get done (again) today.

    Good Morning :D

Well isn't life a funny thing. For years I moaned that I had to work the day the Boots 75% off sale started and I couldn't get anything.
This year I have really nobody to buy for and I'm off work. And it's only 70% this year.
    Typical isn't it. :rotfl:

I have had a look on their website but the few things I might have bought are out of stock.
Just had a peep at the sale thread ( it does make me laugh) and people are talking about the carnage in some of the bigger shops this morning.

I have decided to get my Dad a Loomm snack bowl from Lakeland for Christmas. It's the one I have that comes in the holder. I will pick one up next time I'm near a shop. He will then be finished. That will just leave a few bits I can't get until December, calendar, biscuits etc for my gt Aunt.

The kids stocking are going to be done through the year as I see bits. But this year they are going straight into the bags, so I know when I have filled them.

Beings as I am still not dressed ( quote to come later :D ) I feel very organised this morning :rotfl:

If you have an iPad and like baking/ cooking the Lakelade app is really nice.
It is full of recipes. You download different magazines, Christmas, Summer etc and they go into your Newstand.

They may be an android one, but I don't have anyway of checking.
