    Congratulations pinksteps!

peppapig thank you, yes it was a lovely day, went out for a little walk with my Oh, and collected some twigs and pine cones that I'm planning on using for Christmas decs! OH thinks I'm mental, but it was good fun anyway!

Was just sitting with Oh watching the TV, and IT BROKE HALFWAY THROUGH THE JOHN LEWIS AD WHICH I HAVEN'T YET SEEN ALL THE WAY THROUGH! aaarrrgghhh! Luckily we've managed to get it working again but that was an upsetting five minutes I can tell you! We've not even had it four years yet so would have been gutted if it was permanently broken!

    Jo xx

Pinksteps that first cuddle will be just as lovely however long you have to wait for it. So glad you'll be able to see little Ellie via Skype.
Newthrift, well done on sorting the bank account and good luck with the ISA.
Pinknfluffy that wrapping is inspired, hope you don't have too many to do or you may not have started early enough lol. I always intend to do some really impressive wrapping and then I end up doing it just the usual way.

Off to bed now. Have got DGS (almost a whole year old now) tomorrow so will need my energy. Night all. :)
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Morning all!

Well I got my pickles done on sat eve, spent about 3 hours doing them! Think I went a bit overboard on the onion buying front *blush* Still, you def cant have too many!

Im hoping to finally finish the wrapping today, if I can be bothered. Ive got a headache and Im not feeling so great so really hope Im not coming down with anything... I remember one Christmas a few years back dh and I had the flu, it was awful! Couldn't eat or drink and had to take in turns watching the kids whilst the other went to bed for a rest!

Have a good day all x

Never too many pickles! I hope you are feeling better now?

Wow! Those look fab :) if I can keep my totals low enough, I'm considering splashing out on beautiful gift wrap and ribbon this year to really showcase my pressies :)

    pinksteps congratulations

pinknfluffy love the wrap must take ages to do

managed to do a fair bit today picked up some presents in argos all on offer and got a gift card to spend on something else.
picked up the cellophane from lidl thanks for the heads up chrissyg hardly any left and only had clear/red stars so got one of each.
finally collected my debs order gift set with freebie off grabbit freebie was 7 mini products 4 perfume, lipstick and something else so they will go in dd advent calendar.
picked up the sain flip magazine gift/food guide a few recipes I want try the mincemeat brownie tart looks good and they are doing mince pie & gingerbread ice creams so might have to try them too.
*Nectar double up starts tommorrow* hoping to get ds the game he has asked for that's his main present sorted if they have it

need to dig out the xmas wrap stash and see if I need anything else.only thing I can think of is gift bags as alot of the kids present this yr are small so putting them in bags makes it look like there is more under the tree without spending extra.

*Lidl are meant to be doing the Dark choc bars 1/2 price 17p this weekend*

Thanks for the lidl heads up, I wanted to make nigella rocky road with plain chocolate this year :)

Well it turns out I was sent the very voucher by mistake  (personally addressed to me!) it was for new customers only (didn't say that on the voucher). It has out a big dent in my planned cheap presents :(

We've had the luxury of a comfortable income since July (managed to pay all debts) but DH is now getting worse and I have this awful black cloud looming that I'm wasting what precious time I have left with him working 60 hours a week. I'm taking a loss on the flat so we can get shot of it and buy a shared ownership house that will not only give DH his much longed for garden, but ease the financial burden so that I can cut my hours back and actually spend some quality time with him. As our current flat is also shared ownership, it means we have to convince the government to drop the asking price - it has been on the market since may this year, no second viewings and definitely no offers :(

    Evening lovelies!

of the people who bought these bags did they arrive in speedy time and are they a good size?

As Chrissy said mine took a couple of weeks to arrive and it is big enough for taking lunch to work and a bottle. I have got it for BIL's girlfriend and tucked a scarf in with it.

feisty sending you hugs and hope that you manage to get the flat sold soon and reduce your hours to spend time with OH!!!

Got all the presents downstairs last night and I sorted them in to piles for each person down one side of the living room - realised now that I will need to start wrapping tonight :rotfl: :p Was going to wait until December but...well I have never been THIS organised before.

  • Well, Jess & Fred are still together although she is desperate for a divorce! The hospital did another procedure yesterday which she says was painful and they have discovered a narrowed artery in her neck. Not heard from her since, but it is hard to believe she has been there a week now.

fiesty sorry things aren't so great fingers crossed your able to get them to agree to drop the price so you can get the flat sold.

gettingtherequickly thanks for the update on JJ I know her stay has been longer than expected but hopefully that's a good thing and they are finding some answers

kat360 love the decs only 11 day till ours can go up though still haven't decided on a theme yet

got ds game in sains today using double up with some other bits ended up with nearly £100 worth of stuff and only spent £11 cash :D
they also have 1/3 off xmas gifts set not as good as 50% at tesco but loads of stock ( think they may even be in the double up as that included xmas gifting but not totally sure)
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
