Pixtotts I have some of those retro reflector type baubles….They belonged to my Grandma and will be on my tree this year!:):)
I've just succeeded in buying a few from a lady on facebook :D!!

Can't remember who mentioned it but the big soap and glory one is missing the face cleanser this year :( I love that stuff :( it's got face wipes instead :/

Now I need your expert help...
I need to make some really really easy but christmassy tasting biscuits! Could someone help me out with a recipe pleaseee :)

I usually just make normal biscuits and decorate them christmassy, but I have Christmas cookie cutters from Avon for the party wed, so need the taste to be christmassy because I won't decorate. Ooh and needs to be something that doesn't spread as the biscuits have slots so you can stand them on mugs...

Oh forgot the whole reason I came in! I got an email from Hobbycraft club, their October newsletter when scanned has 25% off make your own crackers, "for club members only", now I don't know how they check it because I'm sure the code in the email and the barcode aren't unique... if anyone wants to try it I'm happy to forward the email :) x

  • Well, I have been finally a bit more organised, have written my cards, wrapped some presents. Was thinking about my mince pies over the weekend, got the mincemeat, but although I am a reasonable baker, I can't make pastry properly, my hands are too hot to rub in the maggieann so that it is nice & light, so thinking about buying pastry, on the other hand, I may try & make the pastry in the mixer, decisions, decisions!

I booked the ferry home during the week, office will be closed from Christmas Eve, going the Saturday before, so will have a decent break, which I will need as rellie probably coming from Egypt again in new year as he will still have a current UK visa and it seem sensible to make use of it while he can. He has told me that he is going to re-arrange my living room for me, it needs to be done, so I may try & get it done before Christmas, if I have time

I have got to make an appointment for physio, been diagnosed with arthritis in one of my knees and have to learn what I can do to protect it and give as much strength as possible and more importantly, how to switch off to the sound of crepitus as I go up the stairs:o

Have a good day & week everyone and hello those just joining the madhouse. Noticed that we had a stranger called Nanamia here, hope you have a well deserved holiday. Anyone know how OMO is?
A smile costs little but creates much :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just been to pick up my Boots goodies - literally as two of them are for me from OH! I've rounded up the addresses of former colleagues and friends from uni and have even made a spreadsheet (this is not like me!) - we bought cards in the sale last year but won't have enough. It makes me sad that the younger generation don't really send cards so I'm attempting to buck the trend, I am doubtful any of my friends will send one back but it's the giving the counts!

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Morning All :)
It's feeling quite chilly here - even more so in work as the heating is broken and i'm told it has been since last Wednesday  (I have been out the office since last Tues!)
Been a busy bee all last week and through the weekend so I haven't had chance to catch up, I am just going back to read now - all 4.5 pages
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
    Mum to two boys :heartpuls
  • Hellooooo sorry I have been so absent! Will try and read back tomorrow.
I have been desperately trying to sort my house out, Ive rearranged my bathroom, kitchen and living room (which looks like a bombsite now!) We had a mouse invasion which started it off, I'd been meaning to sort the kitchen for ages and well mouse droppings are a great incentive:eek: the things had been everywhere and made a nest behind my free standing shelves! I must confess I was so exhausted I started on the chocolate panettone... But its not as nice as I remembered so wont bother replacing it.
Hopefully the mice have been banished and with no tasty morsels or places to hide hopefully thats for good. The whotsits had eaten into the dog food and the pasta! Honestly!

WILLOWLOULOU oh you have my sympathies blooming things they are my worst nightmare and i have lived here 15 years and had 2 separate ones in the kitchen, like you say they flipping get everywhere. One downside of living in the countryside :(

I think it'd be nice to start a new tradition together.
    *Baking/gingerbread house making Christmas Eve
    *Attending midnight mass/Carol service/local panto
    *New PJs Christmas Eve
*A new, or new to you, ornament that has meaning to you both for the tree/house
*A walk in the park Christmas morning
    *A Special breakfast in bed
I'm sure others can think of some better frugal ones! One tradition I'm hoping to change this year is leaving all the wrapping until Christmas Eve! :naughty: :rotfl:

MRSCHRISTMAS oh what lovely ideas, quite made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside reading that :D

I make good pastry, I just somehow always make a good batch but if it's on offer will ALWAYS buy shop bought to save hassle. I had a touch last week, went to my local little sainsbob & they had 5 packs of shortcrust in the yellow sticker shelf for 10p a pack. I bought all 5 & stuck them in the freezer for Christmas bakes. :)

Anyone know what date the Tesco Christmas savers vouchers are available from? Need to get ds a HUDL 2 & hope to double up on boost as well. Which should make it free if my Aug-Nov points calculations are correct :)
