and I am going to browse books for my older children for Christmas.. has anyone any ideas on what they might like that we don't already have??
They don't do vampire crap.. 19 with severe dyslexia, 16 both male and 17, 14, 12 and 10 female
I'm still reading back so don't know if anyone has recommended these but I've recently read the maze runner series (first book just made into a film) and completely recommend them. A bit similar to the hunger games but the first book is just so well written practically every chapter leaves you hanging and wanting more. The chapters are quite short too so an easy read.Hobnobs are like marines0 -

willow_loulou thankyou for the gingerbread recipe I love gingerbread!!!
Also having mouse problems here, next door did some building work last year and it chased them all out and into our house (kitchen extension means we arent sealed to the outside). We've always had them in the loft but now in the kitchen too, it's amazing where mice can get to! Our 2 cats are useless mouse catchers too, well pix caught one.... well, I say caught, she injured one, broken legs and a trail of blood all round the kitchen... useless cats!!
Buzzybee90 - oh no, peaches and clean better hadn't of gone! I love the stuff! just getting to the end of my current bottle so will let you know if I find more

Something to give you a laugh. Nipped into M&S last night to pick up a couple of bras I had to order in, didn't have my size in store. First time, queue a mile long so left to do pick up in Debenhams, arrived back to much shorter queue. But then had to suffer the indignity of her announcing the sizes had to be checked, fine, but there was no need to let everyone in the queue know my size, especially as I am not that small
Once was bad enough, but she must have made the announcement half a dozen times as she checked everything:mad:
Bought a Coca Cola beanie in Primark, £5, tad expensive, but it is branded so paying for that, and it is part of the build up to Christmas, wonder when their ads will start?A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Getting there quickly, if it isn't too late, if you grate the fat and freeze it, you can just add it to the flour fold it in with a round bladed knife and add the water, you get a lovely crisp and light shortcrust pastry with 'no touch'. If you freeze the blocks of fat first then you just grate and add it.
As for the bras, feel proud, she was probably envious of your d!colletage.
Today l need to decorate the vestibule for Halloween, with the help of DGS, then l must do some shopping, as l am doing the 'stuff' for my friends Halloween party buffet.
As for Christmas, l have made a start on writing the cards and retrieving the paper for wrapping and the baskets for hampers out of the loft, if l want to hide the contents l overwrap with silver food wrap (a roll of which l managed to 'aquire' years ago when doing carnival floats) it still looks Christmassy and just needs the top bow cut and it opens out to display the cello wrapped hamper. Maybe you could cover the inside with Christmas patterned doileys , or put lametta over it (the whole strips before you tear it) IYSWIM. Or get a bike bag from poundland0 -
Ps is it wrong that I have started listening to Christmas songs already
Nope. I was listening to Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album 'wrapped in red' yesterday.Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Something to give you a laugh. Thank you for everyone's kind words. I had a little cry last night when I told OH but luckily I do have another part time job (will be 4 days) I can drop in to which is to be employed by his mum and dad and learn the business. I will then just do some other bits and bobs inbetween for something different. Also it has sunk it more now I have told people, will be a long 8 months but I'll keep plodding on :-)
bethl79 it's never to early for anything Christmas relatedI have been listening to a few songs when they pop up on my iphone, I've also downloaded a christmas text and ringtone ready :rotfl: only cost me £1.99 which was worth it for the jollyness.
thanks freespirit I will have a nose around some bargin shops for Christmassy coloured tissue paper.
I am hoping to do another batch of Christmas cards tonight, all being well I shall be done by the end of this week next week writing them. Do I remember someone saying that the Aldi christmas special buys start 2nd Nov?? :j
Going to have to start wrapping bits of gifts soon as it's taking to much to restrain myself :rotfl:Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I seemed to have inadvertently bought the makings of a marvel comics hamper for ds so figured last night that I might as well go the whole hog. I have a mug & chocolate set in vintage decorative box from Iceland & a couple of gift sets, hand wash & shower gel from £land & an aftershave & key ring set (he is 7 but.. just don't ask!) so am now going to wrap it in marvel comic paper (need) and add a new lunch box set & back pack, so if anyone sees any marvel comics stuff that looks like this;

please let me knowI don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
