So glad to see you back on Nanamia and glad hubby is home. I'm sure a nice break with family is exactly what you both need. X

I was in Wilko's today. They had some gorgeous decorations out. I really fancy the large jingle bells for the tree and a couple of their lovely glass baubles. They also had a section with make your own cracker stuff and make your own wreath kit, it was a sort of pick and mix idea.

We also have a Range due to open in the next town. I've never set foot in one before. So looking forward to seeing all their Xmas stuff x

  • nic2075 im loving wilkos christmas range this year have brought some lovely cellophane ribbon and 100 gift stickers all for a pound each and such good quality. The large jingle bells sound lush I may have to have a look!

Any more shopping is off the cards till payday but everything is so tempting as every where I go has lovely christmas things. X

Well you fabulous lot. I was full of good intention and yet fell at the first hurdle! I've had my hands full and have been spinning plates in the air again since DH came home. It's been a bit of a shock to see how weak this recent trouble has left him to be honest. And I've not got into a proper routine including my Christmas chatter yet.
I've been beavering away tho and have finished Christmas gifts and wrapping thanks to Linkys list from last year. Go me xxx
    Thanks Linky miss you xxx

Thank you for the pms. You will probably never know how much they mean to me. And how they've help through some tough times. Thank you all.

Newbies welcome to this wonderful haven. I'm hoping to stick with you for the exciting weeks to come. Ho Ho Ho xxx

On Tuesday we fly to November in the sunshine with DS. I will have more free time to catch up with you all xxx

Oh nana, I have missed you so much! I'm so glad you're back, now we just need OMO and we will have the original elfsters back. I'm so glad to read DH is home, I'm sure the sunshine will do you the world of good! Xxx

Nana - lovely to see you back again. Hope you have a fabulous time in Oz and enjoy the comfort of being with your far away family. Enjoy. :)

Feisty - thanks for the info re Candy Cane. Like Newthrift, I liked the smell in the shop but won't buy it if it doesn't smell when burning. I bought one last year and that happened but unfortunately I can't remember what it was.
Pinknfluffy, thanks for the recommendation of Christmas Eve as a good Christmas Yankee fragrance. I shall have a good sniff of it when I go out tomorrow and might even treat myself. I was perusing them today but other than Cinnamon Stick couldn't find one that I really liked. Actually I'm now worried that Cinnamon Stick might have been the one I bought last year - oh dear, has anyone else tried it? Oh, in case I don't get to post before the weekend, hope you have a great week away.

I loved cinnamon stick until a family member came in whilst it was burning and asked if we were having / had curry for our tea. 5 minutes later her husband came in and asked the same. I have a real issue/paranoia about the house smelling of savoury foods and so it has put me off a bit :(

Well my lovelies I have been very naughty and bought the Yankee advent house gift box. I was planning on getting it cheaper than the original £24 it was listed for back in September, but then the Yankee website sold out, our local candle shop sold out and the shop assistant told me they were limited edition and the price on ebay shot up, I made a panic buy lol. I'm hoping this will become a yearly tradition :)

I just got a email from somewhere I actually don't remember where... but it was telling me homebase have money off lots some stuff... but then I found their "Christmas looks" page, and well it was all down hill from there to be honest... http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/static/christmas-looks

I'm sat mostly in their winter lodge look, BUT, not blue... I really like wooden decorations, woodsy natural stuff, and owls, owls of all shapes and forms, I think we had 20 owls on our tree last year.....going kind of Scandinavian with some white and red this year I think ...
totally in love with these old school style decorations though > http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/green-glass-bauble-with-reflector-front-276849
my grans decorations are almost entirely made up of ones like that... x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....

It's so wonderful to be back with you all. Thanks to each and everyone of you for welcoming me back into the fold. Feisty you are so very right we do need our Linky I feel half dressed without her! Come back Linky the world is not ready for a naked Nan !
Pixitotts Ooh that link was lovely some beautiful things. I've had a few peaceful minutes lost in the moment.
Had a bit of a Groundhog Day here. Packing oh goodness me I'm making a right mess of it. It's a long and very boring story but DS had to cancel and repurchase tickets last week using a different airline. We originally we booked with an airline we've used before and built loyalty scheme points with which meant an extra baggage allowance giving us 40kg each plus 10kg hand luggage each brill I thought. Fab for taking DGDs birthday and Christmas presents etc etc. oh no change of plan. Now 30kg each and 7kg cabin allowance. Well I've packed, unpacked, jiggled you name it. I've closed the door on the numerous cases and will attack again in the morning. And breathe aaaaaaaaarrrrgh phew. Gotta loose a minimum of 20 kg. inspiration may strike whilst I'm sleeping, keep your fingers crossed for me :)
To top off a rubbish day, bought a huge lightweight case, like an artists enormous portfolio only to find it exceeds the permitted dimensions on Emirates flights. Roll on Tuesday lunchtime when ithe luggage will all checked in and out of my hands :) Night night lovelies, see you tomorrow xxx

Oh Nana, I shall give you a bit of advice that I reserve for DH when things are getting stressful; in the grand scheme of things does it really matter? All I mean by that is, don't let the stress of all this packing/re packing spoil your lovely excitement of seeing your wonderful Aussies. I promise you that once you get there, the headache of stripping all your packing out will be a distant memory and you won't even care about what you managed to bring and what you couldn't. Take everything out, strip your clothes, personal care to the absolute bare minimum (you can always borrow/buy when there). Then put in the heaviest of your DGD presents. What is left will just have to be posted (not very MSE I know). Wishing you lots of luck my darling Nana xxx
