Well you fabulous lot. I was full of good intention and yet fell at the first hurdle! I've had my hands full and have been spinning plates in the air again since DH came home. It's been a bit of a shock to see how weak this recent trouble has left him to be honest. And I've not got into a proper routine including my Christmas chatter yet.
I've been beavering away tho and have finished Christmas gifts and wrapping thanks to Linkys list from last year. Go me xxx
    Thanks Linky miss you xxx

Thank you for the pms. You will probably never know how much they mean to me. And how they've help through some tough times. Thank you all.

Newbies welcome to this wonderful haven. I'm hoping to stick with you for the exciting weeks to come. Ho Ho Ho xxx

On Tuesday we fly to November in the sunshine with DS. I will have more free time to catch up with you all xxx

  • Welcome back Nanamia! :hello:

If anyone is after alcohol miniatures for hampers or stockings (I was blabbering away about them a few weeks ago), Asda had them in today on the regular spirits shelf.

Off the top of my head there was Hendricks, Grants, Monkey Shoulder, Sailor Jerry, Glenfiddich, Tullamore and possibly some others, all £2 - £3 :j

Nana - lovely to see you back again. Hope you have a fabulous time in Oz and enjoy the comfort of being with your far away family. Enjoy. :)

Feisty - thanks for the info re Candy Cane. Like Newthrift, I liked the smell in the shop but won't buy it if it doesn't smell when burning. I bought one last year and that happened but unfortunately I can't remember what it was.
Pinknfluffy, thanks for the recommendation of Christmas Eve as a good Christmas Yankee fragrance. I shall have a good sniff of it when I go out tomorrow and might even treat myself. I was perusing them today but other than Cinnamon Stick couldn't find one that I really liked. Actually I'm now worried that Cinnamon Stick might have been the one I bought last year - oh dear, has anyone else tried it? Oh, in case I don't get to post before the weekend, hope you have a great week away.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Evening everyone, Good to see you back Nanamia, glad DH is home!
DS2 is one today. Very mse, elefun (preloved from facebook page £5) bouncing zebra (£15 bought from a friend) - both like new but no horrendous packaging to remove and no assembly. And a Noah's Ark with lots of sounds abd music from B&M bought earlier in the year. (About £10/£15) and a bath toy for £5 from smyths. We blew up about 6 balloons too and he has loved them the most lol.
Was a bit stressed out with work but tomorrow is my last day b4 a week off so will spend some quality time then :)
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.

Welcome back Nana, hopefully you'll find time during your trip to pop in. I am very jealous of the sunshine :)

Peppapig - we like Cinnamon Stick in this house and I definitely had one of these for autumn/winter last year and picked up another one for this year. I like the foodie smells from yankee so have that one, sugared apple and vanilla lime on the shelf waiting to be burnt. Once my exams are out of the way I may treat myself to another one, even though I know I won't be using it for ages!!
What I haven't worked out yet is what to use the ends of the candles for when the wick is finished - at the moment I keep them in the kitchen to use as sort of air fresheners when I've cooked something a bit pongy, I just leave the lid off for a few hours.
  • lazysheep - I scrape any left over bits of candle out of the jars, and then use them on my tart burner! Works just as well as the wax tarts, saves money, and saves waste!

I try to reuse any large jars, usually for gifts in a jar, or a couple of years ago I put tealights into the 4 I had left over and we placed them out on the driveway christmas eve - very pretty, and obviously made things much easier for santa hehe!
