Email to say I can collect all my tesc@ goodies tomorrow.
Saw a friend today who I haven't seen in 2 years, always the one to speak her mind, she commented on my gray hairs :-(
On closer inspection once home, she's right, its definitely more than one or two strays now ... And I'm not quite 38 yet!
Nothing festive to report, had induction at new job first thing, and a rubbish evening spent battling with dd1 over doing her homework. Those of you with grown up children, how on earth did you survive the teenage years lol.
Counting down till Friday when we leave for a week in the caravan, I don't care if it rains all week, just really looking forward to a break. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Can I ask who all decorates the outside of their house at Christmas? I have never done it and would like to this year. Just some lights along the garage roof guttering (attached to the house) and maybe a free standing reindeer or a Santa climbing a ladder light. I always worried about the extra cost of electricity and how easy it is to link it all up. But I love seeing a few lights outside as you drive along.
The inside of my house is like Santas grotto, but not too many lights. Just the tree and wrapped round the bannister.
I do. But I find as the years go by, and my DS gets older, I am getting lazier and putting less and less out
Although I bought a special outside box for the electrics, my brother only got as far as drilling a hole through the wall and feeding the extension lead wire through it so I could have an outside power source, but never got around to actually installing and connecting the wire up to the outside box
So I put the leads for the lights through the bay window, and pull the window as far closed as I can without actually cutting the wires, then stuff the gap with newspaper.
I can't say I've noticed a huge difference in the cost of the electric, but then utilities always cost more in winter.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

DanielleNic87 congratulations
princesskitty lots of babies have phases when you just feel like you were just getting into a routine and then it goes out window again its hard esp when you aren't getting much sleep but thing do settle down again you just give it a little time, go with the flow and try not to stress. none of mine have ever been sleepers or even seemed to really need much sleep either 3-4 hrs at a stretch max if I'm lucky or they are ill at least until they hit the teens when they seem to make up for it 10 fold and a crow bar or stick of dynamite is required to pry them out of bedtotally don't take after me as I always slept 12 hrs a night
Nic we have lights in the window but living in an ethnically diverse area alot of our neighbours don't really celebrate xmas so always been a bit cautious about doing too much external decoration but would love to. have been thinking about getting some xmassy path lights this yr.
m&s have some curly ended xmas canes 8 for £2 so more expensive but very sleigh runner looking
Can't remember who said about the cardfactory elf & book set but did see them in my local one they had 2 different elves, reindeer or santa toy versions all with the same book. don't really need another elf but think I might get a reindeer one for taz as one of our elf gifts.
JJ, omo & nanamia hope your all doing as well as can be at the mo
Oh and forgot I picked up some xmas scratch cards as they had red cracker shaped xmas ones[/QUOTE]
Which shop did you find these in please? They sound like they would go nicely with my Taste of Christmas mugsSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Evening Lovelies!
Hope we are all well!
Just came in to say a box of 10 twinkies in b and m for £2.99 a absolute bargain with a date of 3rd Jan 2015. The pop tarts have until at least March on them.
Had a somewhat bad day, someone phoned in sick at work, we also received some bad news about a charity we work with. I'm also cold and my shoulder appears to have ceased up, so off to bed with me soon where hopefully Dad will be quiet rather than being a pain in the bum.
Love and hugs to all! xx0 -
Spent all afternoon shopping in Bristol! Normally busy Tuesdays but it is swapped for Thursday this week. I finally managed to pick up my The Works order! The books and make your own cracker sets are lovely! Annoyed with myself that I picked it up first though as it was quite heavy! For some reason I thought they closed early and if I left it till later I might forget lol! Spent ages in Primark - they had some lovely wrap! Didn't get any but might another time. Picked up a few things - didn't see any nice festive jumpers though that I liked. Went to Poundland and later 99p store and discovered they had a frozen advent calendar there too! Thought it was meant to be exclusive to Poundland! Later discovered a 2nd Poundland has opened! Haha.. nearer other shops I guess.. the original is fine but in a smallish store a bit further away from main shopping area. I got some choc oranges of course! Oh and some silver foil baking cases - I don't see many of them around and looked online and they were £3 or more. This was £1 for 50! I thought they would be good for mincepies! They are one thing I'm going to give my auntie in her hamper. I also got some red velvet bows - probably to decorate the garland which I hope to get for my stair bannister soon.
I was just walking along to go to another shop and I saw the Molton Brown store had the words " Factory Store" on it! I went in intrigued holding my the works, pound land and primark bags
They had some nice stuff discounted. 2 hand washes or body washes for 22 instead of 32 - they also had a nice boxed set of hand wash & hand lotion for 25. I got talking to the ladies in there - they were very nice. I asked if they had any minis and they did! I thought it would be a no! They had mixed sets of 30 or 50ml bottles well reduced. 24 30ml bottles for 24 - £1 each. I said I wanted them to put inside crackers. They both agreed that was a great idea - one of the ladies asked me where to get the cracker stuff from so I think she wants to do the same nowI said The Works or Poundland :rotfl: I don't need 24 for crackers but will give a few as parts of gifts to friends or in stockings. I also thought they would be good as teachers gifts, wrapped in cellophane with a ribbon or in organza bags. They are also great for travel. If I don't use them I can sell them on ebay easily.
I went on to say that I had some other MB stuff already lined up for presents - (she asked me if I had been doing any Christmas shopping). I said I had got 7 MB items, mainly full size for £50. She looked shocked and asked where and I said on QVC a few weeks ago in a tsv :rotfl: I'm dividing that up for presents you see - for sisters birthday, and part of mum and brothers girlfriend's Christmas presents!
Oh I forgot to say that the lady asked if I was on what she called the 'guest list' (email list) I said I didn't think so. She asked if I wanted to be on it. Me: Do you send emails with special offers? Lady: No, just information about our new releases. Me: oh.. no thank you!hehe

pinknfluffy we're away for 1/2 term too can't wait and I'm sure we'll have fun no matter what the weatherthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
springdreams - my aunt was born with her front 2 teeth! The thought of a teeny tiny new born with teeth freaks me out a little bit!! lol.
Now while not totally Christmas related but one of you might be able to help... You know the thin brown or white tissue paper they use to wrap fragile things in shops when you buy them does anyone know where I could get my hands on some? And cheap paper bags, you know like the ones they use in old style sweet shops....
I'm taking my painted stuff to a Avon Christmas party thing next week and I'm being hopeful that I might sell something!
x
I would guess your aunt's mum suffered from day one with breast feeding then, if she did breast feed
I have bought tissue paper from Tesco, Card Factory and The Works.
I would look on eBay for the cheap paper bags.
Good luck with your Avon party.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Just running in to say that Avon have a special on bath bubbles (500ml), if you buy 4 of those in the offer at £4 each, you get them for £5. There may be a delivery of £3.50 to factor in, but if doing a pamper hamper, it may be worth considering.A smile costs little but creates much0

MrsChristmas wrote: »Made a start on the finishing touch's of the stockings today. It's put me in a really good mood as I think it's one of my favourite parts of the preparations. The stockings are loosely based on american 'holiday' theme/colours, red, greens & white as it just say's Christmas to me... I love how the Americans do Christmas.
DDs (8&11) have each:
Rainbow coloured hairbands, a candy cane lip balm, a metal loom band tool, a giant Christmas pencil, chocolate coins, a tube of love hearts in Christmas design, a malteaser reindeer, a giant candy cane, a giant multicoloured twist lolly, pack of red, green & white jelly beans, chocolate orange & a teddy to sit on the top.
Still to get:
Giant round lolly in red, white & green, hoping to find a Christmas PEZ, socks/gloves, a small waving cat, highlighters/markers/pens & a snowglobe.
I hope you don't mind me posting what I have so far & what I intend to get, just hoping it may give others some ideas.
I follow this lady on YT & here's her stocking stuffer guide
