freespirit sorry your back isn't better but glad to hear you are taking less painkillers. I had the Good Housekeeping magazine a few years back and was the same as you, loads of recipes but I only liked a few! Congrats on finishing your presents, what a relief! You may have already said (sorry) but what is in your 'Just add ice-cream' hamper?
Peppapig thanks for mentioning the Santa Stop Here sign, I know my DS will only be 4 months but I really want to get one! I have to confess I bought a sign for the bedroom door handle the other day with his name on it!I just read your signature, how have you been doing with 2014's challenges??
pinknfluffy thanks for the info on the tubs of chocolate, will keep an eye out. Although i'm sure it would be posted on here!
CHRISSYG wow what a bargain with the steamer!
mrs-moneypenny I have a few must watch Christmas films - The Muppets Christmas Carol, Santa Claus The Movie and The Nightmare Before Christmas!
msgigglewick glass blowing sounds fun, you'll have to upload some pics!
CazD2008 well done on being nearly finished! I hope your job is transferred closer to your home.
Ed-P I like the kite idea. I think it would be one of those presents where he might possibly not be too impressed to begin with, but would love it when he was actually out doing it. I'm 32 and I can imagine i'd enjoy a bit of kite flying again!
04624181 love the Christmas day outfits!
Pinksteps what a lovely memory of your dad. x
BBTHREE hello again. Sorry to hear about the BD, I do hope it has improved for you a bit.
Ruth-honey I've had some lovely presents over the years but I remember when I was about 11 I was thrilled to bits to get an electronic typewriter! It was state of the art technology at the time!I used it all the time.
Feisty I don't blame you for just wanting to look online and get the presents. Sometimes you have to look at what's better and what your time is worth. It can be worth spending a little more to save stress and time.
DanielleNic97 congratulations on baby Oscar! :T How lovely. I hope you are doing well through these first few weeks.
Hello and welcome jobo88 and kitkat34! :hello:0 -
I found a lovely little Christmas jumper the other day for wiggle with a cute little reindeer on the front, can't wait to dress him in it! As mentioned above I also bought a personalised door handle sign so Santa knows where to stop.
I was pleased to find a lovely copy of the Night Before Christmas book in M&S for £2.99, I can't wait to read it to him on Christmas Eve. Even though he'll only be 4 months old I'm still going to bake cookies to leave out for Father Christmas - silly I know but I can't help it!
We're having a bit of trouble with him at the moment with his sleeping. He was doing well for a few days, going down around 7pm, waking for a feed at 2am then sleeping again till 6am, but now he's a bit all over the place again. Some nights he takes hours to go back to sleep and we're now at a stage where he screams before every sleep at night and during the day because he's so tired as he won't go to sleep! We also really want to get to a stage where we can put him down and he can settle himself to sleep, but not sure the best way of doing it. He's 11 weeks tomorrow so feel he should be a bit better at settling himself now. It's not easy!0 -
So sad to hear of the death of Lynda Bellingham. I wasn't a fan as such, although I do like the gravy ads, but she seemed a lovely lady and I really admired the way she wanted to take back control of her life. So cruel that she couldn't have her wish for one more Christmas. RIP.
Princess Kitty, I don't think it's silly to do all those things at all - you're just a Christmas nut that's allAt least on this thread you know you're not alone! Re the signature, thanks for asking. The good news is I've gone from no fruit and veg to speak of to at least having a banana and blueberries with my Weetabix (well the Aldi version) each morning, so that's an improvement
. I do try to eat veg when I it's given to me but must confess I'm still really only doing carrots when left to my own devices. We did start having fruit during the evening but then you hear all the news about not eating too much fruit because it's bad for teeth and sugar intake. I still have a lot of work to do! Keeping in touch is going ok although joining Facebook and 'friending' people has been part of it so I suppose that doesn't really count. Again more work to do there. The cycling has gone right out of the window
because I developed a frozen shoulder at the beginning of the year and the lack of movement in my left arm has meant cycling is a bit of a risk for now. I'm def going to get onto that one as soon as my shoulder has proper movement again. I'm probably not the best one to advise on Wiggle's sleeping pattern as mine were little so long ago and I've sort of wiped that side of things out of my memory. What I would say is try not to get wound up about it and never ever compare the way yours sleeps with what other people's babies do because you'll drive yourself round the bend lol.
Welcome all Newbies. (I'm waving but my smilies aren't playing ball so can't add that one). It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

He is very young to have a sleep routine already, and to be self settling.
It will take a lot more weeks, if not months or in the case of my DS years, before a sleep routine is established. My DS was almost 3 years old before he slept through the night.
My 14 month old twin nephews, who I have overnight at least one weekend a month, still do not sleep through the night. And for about the first year of their lives they woke every 3 hours through the night. It is only recently that they started sleeping longer than 3 hours at a time.
Each baby is different. Yours may get into a routine soon, or he may not ..... Try to get some sleep yourself whenever you can, and don't despair if your LO is not in a sleep routine yet. It will come with time.
As freespirit has suggested, try a dummy. Also give him a comforter of some sort (my nephews like cotton bibs, and my DS liked a cuddly toy which he still has) so that he can use that to self sooth in a few months time.

P.S. When he reaches his teen years all he will want to do is sleep all day and stay awake all night and into the wee hours of the morning !Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Its possible he has teeth coming through. Mine self settled and slept through 11pm till 7am at 10 weeks but at 4 months started waking and fretful, 2 weeks later he got first teeth and didnt go back to sleeping through again till 10 months once all his teeth came through.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Your DS had a full set of teeth at 10 months  that was quick.
Teething is a possibility. But then not all babies get their teeth through around the 4 month mark either. Mine got his first 4 at 5 months, but my twin nephews only got their first two teeth at 11 months, and still only have 2 teeth a piece, but the top two are starting to peek through. They were still grizzly through the night though before then.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
