Just a reminder to the Scottish contingent on this thread that from tomorrow (20th October 2014) there will be a 5 pence for each single use carrier bag (both plastic & paper).
So remember to take your bags with you as your shopping trip might not be very MSE if you forget!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Hi all,
Hope everybody is ok and is in a festive mood:snow_laug
Not sure if you all read my post about what you eat on christmas day? I was asking people do they do the full works on the day or do a buffet style meal. Think Im going to go with cooking a big meal on christmas eve and then us having a buffet style tea for christmas day. Have asked the kids and hubby and they want to try the buffet tea so we are all systems go. Actually looking forward to it now xx
Keep the christmas cheer coming everyone. Hugs to everybody who needs them xxx
We've had Christmas dinner on Christmas eve for about the last 15 years, and find it just lends itself to a much more relaxed and happy Christmas day, and makes the festivities last longer!Hobnobs are like marines0 -

Oh yeah, I forgot to say what mine was, didn't I?
It was a joint 18th birthday present/Christmas gift (even though the dates are 6 months apart!) from my family. My first motorbike! Obviously I knew I was getting it, but it changed my life. In a good way and a bad way...
It gave me independence, probably led to me getting together with my now hubby, but also messed up my leg when I came off it and smashed my knee up.
I do enjoy selecting gifts for people and trying to find something they'll really enjoy. I hope I'm good at it!
Might go out for a ride this afternoon and swing by Home Bargains on the way back. Haven't been there for a little while, so hoping I can buy a few stocking fillers.dropsofjupiter wrote: »We've had Christmas dinner on Christmas eve for about the last 15 years, and find it just lends itself to a much more relaxed and happy Christmas day, and makes the festivities last longer!
It's just the two of us on Christmas Day, so we have the turkey roast dinner and if we get peckish during the evening, we have some kind of dessert (cheesecake, maybe?) or some cheese and crackers.
Christmas Eve is always fish and chips. A tradition we've been doing for a while now. On Boxing Day we hope to have leftovers on a pizza. We did this last year on the BBQ and I hope it'll be dry enough to do it this year too.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi everyone, can I join in the festivities? Been lurking for a while and have gotten some fabulous inspiration from you all!
I have been quite organised with my Christmas planning this year, and have already completed my candy cane sleighs, wrapped up some little Cadbury's bars to look like reindeer, and have today tested out my first recipe in a Jar!
Will post pics as soon as I'm allowed to.
I'm bang into crafting and such and have loads of ides for Christmas crafts (got a few ideas from pinterest!) that I'm planning to try this year for round the house! I'll post things as I do them! Hopefully they won't all go disastrously wrong!
Keep up the Christmas crafting!

We've been paying for bags here in N.Ireland for over a year now. It's amazing how quick you start remembering to take your bags with you lol. Although we now have a large collection of 10p reusable bags ATM. But I'm planning on a sort out of those and giving the rest away as we really don't need them all.
Congratulations to Danielle on the birth of Baby Oscar!!
I'm only popping on for a quick catch up. Will be on properly later on. Kids are off to a birthday party soon so I'll get some peace then. They have a better social life than me ATM:eek:
I have just ordered 2 Molton Brown sets off their website for DC teachers presents. Done 2 separate orders so saved £20, got free gift box each and 2 freebies for me:TPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0
