I must have read this thread last year but forgot to subscribe to it.
I looked at the first few pages this morning and read lots of "Happy Birthday to Black Cat" messages for last January! I feel so guilty for not thanking people at the time (have gone back and done so now).
I've enjoyed reading the last few pages too - only 9 more Saturdays? I'll remind my OH of that when he gets frustrated with me for preparing for Christmas before December
Oh - and a very happy birthday to everyone who's had one this year!
:bdaycake:0 -

Had to smile earlier, mother came round as she had locked herself out and needed a spare key. Reminded us of when my dad came round a couple of Christmases ago just before he passed, he had dementia and locked himself out, thankfully he found his way to mine and we were trying to keep him safe until mother could pic him up. All of a sudden he announces in the hall that he's heading home as he had found his door key, in his hand was a 6" Santas Key on a big red ribbon, he was adamant it was his front door key. Funny how memories have a way of making you smile when feeling down. Silly old sod!0

Totally forgot about my helicopter when I wrote the post. I think I am more excited about this than he will be. I hope it gets him loving the outdoors again.
I could get him this kite so we can spend Christmas day designing it and then fly it another day. That way he can enjoy his Christmas present on the day.
I don't think the quality of that kite would be that good tbh? And i don't think a 12 year old would be very impressed with a kite that came with crayons!!! Could your budget stretch to a stunt kite of some sort? I think that would appeal to his ageSpreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Pinknfluffy, its Mrs G's Christmas elf thread on FB - I would advise you not to join unless you have lots of time on your hands lol. I've lost loads of time on there but I love it and can't resist. :j If you're on FB you can search 'Christmas Elf Antics' and then join. You'll know you're on the right site if it's got a big blue banner across the top with 'You've been elfd' on it!It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Hi all
I haven't posted for a long long time, and just wanted to stay hello to anyone that remembers me.
Honest answer is I had a serious case of black dog due to things going on in personal life but I am over it (ish) now.
I am still xmas obsessed and luckily I had bought a lot of stuff in the jan sales, and in the last few weeks I have sorted hubby and both kids apart from their main present each which will be done when love to shop vouchers from hamper club arrive in a couple of weeks.
I have done most wrapping (now stored in large Xmas bags from home bargains) and only need to wrap a few delicate things I have left till last minute and also assemble and wrap hampers (but all contents bought).
I have also been buying at least one food item a week since late aug (usually 2 or 3 lately), and they are also stored in a large Xmas bag.
I have already bought my yearly new Disney Xmas bauble (though slightly gutted they have changed the design as it doesn't match any of the others)
I still need a trip to primarni for Xmas pjs for kids for Xmas Eve and a Xmas jumper for me for national Xmas jumper day (12th dec) then I am done.
I hope everyone is ok and hugs to anyone who is finding things a challenge at the moment. (Apologies I will never be able to catch up on posts)
Xxx
P.s is it just me is boots Xmas catalogue a bit meh this year?
The contents are fine but just look better on the shelf than the catalogue makes them look.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
I love hearing about the things you've all bought for gifts. The t shirt from Matalan that was linked to a few posts ago is very cute.
Probably been asked before, but what's the best Christmas gift you've ever been given?Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Evening! Sorry I haven't actually made it on to post for a couple of days, it's been quite busy here.
chrissy fingers crossed they re-locate you
Today my brother and 5 cousins have been round and a couple of photographers have been and we have had pictures taken. We are having an A4 more formal picture for our Grandparents for Christmas (which I will give them boxing day as we will all be there) and then we have had some other pictures done which we get on a disk + a more informal relaxed picture which will be a 6x4, one each for the parents and one for Grandparents. Quite excited to see the pictures.
Present wise I will pick the last couple up next week on my day off and I think I have finished
Out for a meal this evening but we won't be late as OH is driving tomorrow (lorry) and I am able to go with him which will be nice. Don't get much chance to go with him anymore being so busy.
Right quick power nap and then time to get ready and go.
Have a lovely evening allChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I just want christmas day to be so relaxed and fun this year xx Not sure if you all read my post about what you eat on christmas day? I was asking people do they do the full works on the day or do a buffet style meal. Think Im going to go with cooking a big meal on christmas eve and then us having a buffet style tea for christmas day. Have asked the kids and hubby and they want to try the buffet tea so we are all systems go. Actually looking forward to it now xx
Also ordered this for my mum hamper.
