aliaslotte is posted cake a thing? Sounds beyond bizarre to me!

I had a bit of an oopsy yesterday, and managed to take a lot of paint off my car :( caught it on a wall in a car park, I'm so annoyed with myself, this is the 3rd car I've had, the nicest car I've had, 3 months in I've clipped a mirror and this, I didn't so much as scratch either of the other 2 !! grr! Apparently I did a "proper job", I'm not actually sure how much it is costing, I know the more expensive one dad decided against using was £350 though :| eek!

picked up the asda gift guide a few of the bits I like won't be available till end oct/beg nov so will have to remember to keep an eye open for them then. they will be doing a frozen gift set -pvc bag & eau de toilette 2 for £8 so may get that to go with my nieces other frozen bits.
they are doing a build your own rocky road house kit so might get that instead of doing a gingerbread one this yr?

They have some lovely bits in the asda gift guide, I have my eye on the frozen stuff too for dd's stocking, also the Thomas bath set for ds.

I spent the entire day with my kids, my friends (who we lost 2 weeks ago)s two, my friend and her two. My friend is a fellow Xmas fairy and seeing all six kids enjoying themselves the topic soon turned to christmas and it's really improved my mood. So this evening I've been through the cupboard and sorted out dd and ds especially. So just main present and stocking fillers to get :)

  • Congrats pinknfluffy, that's a fantastic achievement! It's such a relief isn't it? Well done you.

aliaslotte cake through the post does seem a bit strange! I can think of worse things to come through the post though! :p

freespirit how are you? How is your back?

I finally bought a Christmassy magazine yesterday, I bought 'Your Home' Christmas Made Easy - it's fab! Great content and only £2.99. I also picked up the Asda gift guide so enjoyed flicking through that.

I was going to get a tub of Heroes for the Christmas food cupboard for £4, but am I imagining it or did someone somewhere drop the price to £3 briefly last year? I might be making that up or wishful thinking! :p

Afternoon everyone, i have had a right morning i sat down to have my breakfast and something flew past my head i just assumed it was a big moth, but it was a robin, i managed to get it trapped in the kitchen before the dog got it and opened the window so it would fly out which it did, i then looked up what it meant as i am so superstitious and it said it meant a death in the family soon, it really upset me and shook me up especially seen as the baby is due any day now, when i calmed down i read some more and it can mean big changes ahead, which obviously is the baby but the last time two birds flew into the house our other dog died soon after :(

PINKNFLUFFY well done you, its a fab feeling isnt it? But worth all the going without to get it

ALIASLOTTE how weird, perhaps it is someone who knew about the break up and was trying to cheer you up but forgot to put a note in? I tell you something i need cake in the post today :D

PRINCESSKITTY aww thankyou for asking, some days it feels easier and i think oh good its going but then the next day it is bad again, but i am taking less painkillers so there must be some improvement, i have got my shop being delivered this afternoon and am dreading it without the kids here to help lift it all out the boxes and then take through to the kitchen, i might just take the frozen and leave the rest in the hall till they get home :p

Edit: ooh thanks about the mag will look out for that

Freespirit, please don't worry. My Mum has also always believed that a bird coming indoors means a death in the family, just as she'll never have mistletoe indoors because it's unlucky. It's never happened to us but my friend regularly has birds come into her house because they nest just outside and she's never noticed any links with people dying. Well done on getting the little robin out before anything untoward befell it. Sounds like my sister's worst nightmare though - she almost had hysterics the other morning when a pigeon flew a bit too close to her when we were out walking the dogs lol. :rotfl:

Aliaslottie - don't eat it! There was a very similar plot in one of the Agatha Christies and the cake was poisoned. :D

Princesskitty, thanks for the magazine info - think I'll get that one too then. :)

Bought a 'Santa please stop here' sign today at B&M. I had one the year before last (DGD is always here for Christmas Eve/Christmas morning) then couldn't find it last year and left it so late to replace it that I couldn't get one. Not gonna get caught like that again lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

  • Note to self: nescafe spiced orange cappucinos are no where near as nice as they sound! Oh well, the rest can go in teachers staffroom hamper lol.

Thank you everyone! It feels wonderful, new job & debt free - this may well go down as one of the best weeks of my life x

Re the Minecraft Lego - oh my goodness I cannot believe the prices! Amazon have a few smaller sets for £8-£10 but seems to be a figure & 2 or 3 bricks!

Princesskitty - I'm sure asda or tesco did the tubs for £3 last year, end of Nov time? I remember going to grab a couple and they were almost cleared out.

Can anyone remember when lidl have the cellophane rolls in? Also looking out for their annual 19p offer for the choc bars.

Off to browse pinterest a while, enjoy the evening everyone xx

this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Thanks mandco. Will pop in tomorrow & have a look at choc. Asked the manager 2 weeks ago at our store, but he was clueless!
