Have copied below from the Grabbit thread - thanks to Joanygq for the original post (Grabbit board, B&M bargains thread)

"Noticed my shop local to work (Westwoods) had loads of American sweets in. FAR cheaper than Spar/ Mace etc

Big bags of twizzlers 340G for £1.99

Double size babe ruth bars for £0.89
Peanut butter M&Ms and other flavours for £0.69
Seen these in other shops for well over £2 each

Could be handy if someone is doing an American style Christmas/ movie hamper"

    Hope it helps someone. :)
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • CupofChai - could you put her together a hamper focused on her like of baking?
The book people have a flash sale with lots of baking/cookery books
b&M and hb also have lots of nice bits in
Maybe add an apron, oven gloves etc?

Sorry, I am obsessed with hampers so thats all I really think about these days!

Hugs to all who need them x

Just placed an order with the book people, got a couple of crime fiction collections for dh, a doctor who book for dd2, a couple of xmas activity books for the elves to bring, and the nutella cook book for dd1 (going to team it with a nice big jar of the stuff - she loves it!)

DD1 and Dh are at a concert tonight, so DD2 is tucked up in bed whilst I watch nothing on tv and sip a rather yummy gingerbread latte! My fav, and asda have them half price so picked up 4 boxes!

Well I've just sat and made the rest of my candy cane reindeer. I'm absolutley shattered, I've been doing extra hours in work this week and it;s taken it out of me:eek: I'm beginning to think I'm a teacher instead of a classroom assistant:eek: In from 7.30 in the morning and not leaving till 5pm this past 2 days:(

springdreams I haven't used any double sided tape on mine this year........ well that may change depending how this lot survive the next 8 weeks :rotfl: I may need to fix them come closer to the time again.

I have just used Pritt stick for my eyes and nose on them. Scooped a lump onto each eye and plonked it on there. I'll let you know if they survive:rotfl:

I'm not doing anything else tonight, kids are in bed so I think I'll head to bed myself soon. 2 more sleeps till Friday:j

Evening everyone, must just tell you we had our first is she/isnt she in labour drama tonight :rotfl:when DD2 was driving home from work she suddenly started having really painful cramps, now she has suffered with pain ever since she was about 9 so she is quite hardened to it by now and has to be in considerable pain to say anything so when she rang me on the car phone and i heard her i knew it was bad, i told her to pull over and stop as soon as she could (she was on a dual carriageway) i rang her OH and told him to get to her and drive her car home asap and told DD2 to time them, anyway she had about 6 of these intense pain spasms but they didnt get quicker so we decided it was Braxton Hicks and not real labour, she is fine now, but it was nice to hear two men stopped in different cars to help her and see if she needed an ambulance and one stayed with her until her OH got there, there still are some decent people out there :D I wonder how many more of these we go through before he arrives :rotfl:3 1/2 weeks to go!!

Hi Junior J, poor you with the surgery, really hoping things get better for you soon.

I made both sleighs (for family) & snowman soup (for the school to sell last xmas).

For sleighs I got two candy canes, a terrys choc orange bar, mint poppets, mars bar, freddo and a mini chocolate santa to drive. I added glue dots (which i have seen in pound land today) to the bottoms of the chocolate & stuck them on top of each other. I wrapped some ribbon around too.

Snowman soup I bought disposable icing bags from pound land (20 for £1) filled with hot chocolate, some chocolate chips (to stop the hot chocolate going on the marshmallows), white marshmallows. Tied with a small band, added a candy cane & curled ribbon around with a tag.

Thanks for the recipe lol , I shall look out for the glue dots. Also should look for offers on the chocolate oranges

JJ send you hugs and i do hope that things get sorted for you very soon
