Smyths had loads of Frozen stuff even after their 25% off over the weekend. I got some for my girls from The Entertainer too. Toys R Us have them in too. We have 4 Argos stores here so I'm happy to collect if anyone needs it.

I went once... and O..M..G ... I didn't know *that* kind of person existed.. I swear their staff were found in caves and judging by the overall aroma of the shop they hadn't been acquainted with soap! The native 'shoppers' were equally vile and unwashed, if not worse.. I swore I would never set foot in there again. The prices were comparable with other cheapy places so I don't need to traumatise myself... but I'd rather pay twice the price and not deal with the people in there.. I know that makes me sound like a total snob but really they were pretty ghastly.

Pigpen, surely all the 'vile' people who live where you live don't only shop in Home Bargains?

Unfortunately I don't live near a Smyths, and don't have an entertainer here. I have just been informed that there's a Toy's R Us just opened last week in our local shopping center in town. Am heading in there tomorrow so going to check that out also.

no they go to Asda too! lol.. I can avoid those places.

I can just see me peeping in the windows to see who is in before deeming a place safe to enter haha!

It actually made me a bit sad that these people were never taught to care for themselves better. Soap and water is not hard to come by. No wonder this town has such a bad reputation if this is what outsiders see.

I'm not a 'people person' at the best of times, I can't handle crowds or busy and it just flicked every OCD nerve in my body...

I love Home Bargains,B&M, pound shops Charity shops and car boots.I was a single Mum for 15 years and they have been my mainstay for kids stuff whilst I paid off my exes debts. Now I could spend a bit more I find that I begrudge paying it,I would rather spend my money on time with the family,a nice home and a car.I am a snob too,I don't like to look poor:rotfl:

Christmas wise I embroidered a little picture for my youngest today and put it in a frame I got from the chazzer for 25p.I drew what is supposed to be her rabbit and did a running stitch round the outline, looks nice.I know its an odd gift but I did one last year for her sister of nice kitty from Big Bang Theory and it went down well.

I am home alone which is nice but I have no techy guru to help me post pictures.

Tomorrow I have yet another Hospital appointment in town 25 miles away, will kill 2 birds with 1 stone and visit some shops whilst I am there. There's nowt where I live in the sticks, just a late shop.:rudolf::rudolf: Vx

  • Havent read back as I'm in the bath and worried ill drop my phone but I just remembered sainsbury have all their Christmas candles in the Christmas tree ones and smell as good as last year's. So realistic! Also cutest little resin reindeer, wood effect with bells round their neck. The teeny ones were still £4 though :o. Since getting my reindeer end of Nov last year reduced I'm reluctant to b uy anything full price there now :/ waiting game beings!! Haha.
Also don't suppose anyone knows where I can get silver base plates (if you know what I mean, not sure what they are called really :/) very cheap. Or near Worcester and could lend me a couple for an evening... myself and another rep are hosting an Avon party, Christmas themed next month, and want to set the table up. Have the red end sorted but can't seem to find silver :( x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

I haven't fully read through, I will do so in a moment. Just popping to say hello, all but 3 people are finished for Christmas now
Successful day shopping with my mum! However, I'm feeling a little silly. Once my OH said that he wanted some timberland boots but settled for cat boots as they were cheaper, they are fine but when shopping today I thought hmm he has been working so hard and I saw some had a think and brought him a pair (£160) - I know don't tell me off!! I got them home and decided to show him as have 28days to refund if need be but he said as lovely a thought he couldn't let me spend that money and he is now feeling guilty as we are taking them back Sunday for a refund and now I feel a little silly :( he kept saying how nice it was but his cat boots are fine and he doesn't wear them that much so he felt they were too much and now I feel silly for not ringing him first (meadow hall is an hour - hour 1/2 drive) and he feels bad cause he doesn't want to sound ungrateful but he was being honest. Oh what a pickle *holding head in hands* I must say I'm glad he was honest though so we can go get a full refund! I will ring back in a mo as I don't feel too sleepy! Oh I'm sorry this is a long post I think I'm just venting a little cause sometimes my brain runs ahead of itself!
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Evening everyone, sounds like argos is annoying everyone today :(

PIGPEN no i am the same, so not a people person, that is funny because i have only been in Wilkinsons once, and it was so busy i had to get out, i think because our HB and B&M are out of town they are never really crowded, you get people like that in every town, sometimes i wonder how these people get on in life they are so awful, cant talk to each other they have to shout everything, stink to high heaven and just skanks, i feel so sorry for their littluns because you know they have no chance

NICKI yes agreed our £stretcher is horrible and stinks

VULPIX good luck at the hospital tomorrow, and hope you get some shopping done

PIXTOTTS sorry my lovely i dont know what you mean by silver base plates :D

NEWTHRIFT we have all been there, bought something for someone and afterwards had second thoughts, in fact i am worrying about one of my DD1s presents, i thought it was a good idea at the time but now not so sure and because i dont spend as much as i used to, i am panicking could i have bought something more useful :)

Oooh I adore charity shops and car boots.. they are like treasure troves.. I avoid both like the plague.. if there is one thing my house doesn't need it is 'stuff' .. so if I don't go I don't clutter.. I am fighting a losing battle with the wool but the clothes etc are reducing!

Well today is good day my DD gets her cast off:j
I've had a bit of family trouble basically my mum is very selfish and constantly winds dd up to the point dd is very upset, so we have had a major falling out ,the last time this happened we didn't speak for over 2 yrs but I suspect this maybe a more permanent split.

I've tried to explain how dd's autism affects the way she interprets things but I've received a torrent of abuse back so im done. I'm just waiting for a letter from my dad telling me how awful I am. Last time he said if it wasn't such a waste of fuel he would drive here to hit me !:(

On a bright note my Christmas shopping list has now reduced by 50% lol
