caz82 yes I spent quite a while watching her's really quite good.
freespirit & nic2075 oh my goodness yes putting up and taking down would take so long. I think you would require an army of people or just leave it up year round :rotfl: I'm sure I would either get lost or headache living in that for December though!

I too would love to go and see the houses in America at Christmas, when it comes to seasonal times they just throw themselves in I think it is fantastic!

Not much else Christmas wise to report here, other than much time spent on youtube now :o and in the land of Christmas. Need to pick OH's brain later to see if he has any gift ideas for his brother and dad.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • ALWAYSAFTERABARGIN hi and welcome back, gosh you are organised having your meal plan sorted already :)

Yes very organised. It was the first thing I did before anything else. I always buy so much every year and either gets eaten for the sake of it or thrown so I have done a meal plan for the three days. Anything else we need I can pop to shops day after Boxing Day. I remember my hubby picking up our marks and spencer order last year and I had ordered the Yule log. He looked at the woman stupid when she brought out this massive box with what I could described as more a tree than a log ha ha. There is only four of us. We had enough Yule log to take us to March. Hubby ended up taking it to work for the boys as he was on duty over the new year. I love marks and spencer food but I have promised hubby I will be sensible this year. I tend to forget that when ordering marks and spencer food online for pick up the portions supplied is for entertaining. However over last few years we prefer quiet christmas and new year so we go and have a meal out with family and friends just before christmas and again early January but keep the christmas period quiet, just us.

Anyway if any of you lovely ladies see any Star Wars bits on offer or in any shops reasonable Let me know. I did see a big plush talking yoda in B&M for 20 quid so still thinking about that. My daughter has not specified exactly what Star Wars bits she wants just says it's up to santa. She should of been a boy as loves doctor who. Star Wars. Loves her ps3 games. Thanks in advance x

Lush Christmas launches October 3rd in stores and October 1st online.

Found another american sweets website, candyhero.com have ordered myself a mystery box and a couple of bits to try as pre christmas stocking fillers. Bought some biscuits out of M&S and a box of chocs that could end up being ours or a gift for the post man.

Have taken out a second credit card with no interest on balance transfers to help bring the credit card bill down quicker my plan is to pay the big amount a month off of the interest free one and make the minimum payment on the current one.

My coke bottles arrived and my lakeland order!

    Love and hugs xx

Thanks! Was wondering when Lush would launch it, I may have to do my annual trip to Birmingham that week! :-))
  • Hi everyone

Been lurking for a little while but have decided to join in. Normally I'm a last minute shopper, but this year I need to be more prepared :)

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and will probably have to buy most of my presents off the internet.

I want to try my hand at the snowman soups this year for the kids in the family. Has anyone seen candy canes yet in the shops? Or is it still too early?

Welcome! How lovely to be due so soon  Sainsburys have candy canes in now :-) xxx
  • Caught up at last! Was buried in my other/original job upstairs on pc when phone just rang asking if there was any chance I could come into work, I hardened my heart/inability to say no and said sorry no, am too tired! Quite proud of myself lol!

Work aside Ive made some good Christmas headway, I bought the Mr Christmas church colour change led canvass fm qvc, I got the other one last year and its so beautiful and magical I was really happy to find te other back in, Ive also ordered the colour change santa and sleigh :-D

Managed to get some Cadbury Winter Wonderland bars for stockings, and after loads of hanging on phone an ipad I managed to get tickets for next years Ashes for dh and ds for Christmas, ds is cricket obsessed and will be really excited. Got a lovely charcoal wool duffel swing coat for dd with cream sheepskin round hood from TU, managed to get an @mazon order of books, calendars and cricketty bits for both, and also bought my first box of mince pies! :-D
  • Hello

I have been lurking for a few weeks, I could not believe it when I came across this forum I finally feel I have found the place where I belong! Ha ha, I begin getting excited about February time and am now in the full throws of my planning.

I have made a good start on present buying and last week I sorted out my Xmas cupboard and made a list of everything I have bought. I have bought lots of the lovely jewellery pieces from Amazon so thank you for that recommendation. I have today in my lunch been to a new Range store that has opened near me and it has aisles and aisles full of decorations. I bought a couple of things for the tree (as I always add to it every year) and a beautiful wooden, white, greyish wreath for the door. It actually is a lot nicer than it sounds.

Thanks for all the tips so far and looking forward to the next few months x
  • Afternoon everyone, i feel very very happy today i have just ordered DD1s last two christmas presents some aromatherapy essential oils and a scratch off world map she has wanted for ages, so that is all my main presents done :T:T:T so next job i need to just finish off stockings (mostly done). I have had my shop delivered and got some more bits for christmas and some bottles of fizzy to put away that were on 2 for the price of 1 deal so i have cleared out my christmas food cupboard and can start to put everything in there now.

AMEYTURTLE oh honey i hope the doctor can give you some antibiotics/painkillers for your ears it can be so painful

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh thankyou so much for your advice i will let DD1 know when she gets in from work, its very much appreciated

MRSINVISIBLE oh well done to DGS bless him! I dont think its cheeky to ask them, after all you put a lot of time and effort into them and maybe they will lay untouched if you dont fill them again. Mmmm pulled pork i am very jealous :)

DANIELLENIC ooh thankyou for the code for matalan :)

PIXTOTTS thankyou, will remember if i need it :)

ALWAYSAFTERABARGIN i will keep an eye out for star wars bits for you
