  • Morning, grey looking day and a definite autumn chill in the air, DGS off to school, already he has 'misplaced' his locker key, £3 for a replacement, grr. Also not making the transition to cafeteria pay per item meals too well. Seems that the £2.20 allowance per day doesn't cover main, side and dessert, so he gets£1 extra to top it up, do you think that is enough? The schools menus are good and varied, but don't include prices online.
I need to phone T*sco credit card today, they were supposed to transfer 2 balances to their 0% card last month. They sent a statement showing they had done this, but one of the sums is still showing on the card it should have been transferred from, 2 calls already with no satisfactory outcome, last chance today, or it gets escalated to FO.
MrsI pulls herself up to her full 5' 01/2'' height, squares her shoulders meaningfully, and puts on her best 'Paddington Bear Scowl' and that is mega scary!
Welcome Newbies, babies and Christmas, how special is that?
Off to make coffee, and phone call, xxxx

Morning, it's grey, foggy and damp here today also. I required both socks and my coat for heading to work...obviously I do have other clothes on too :o:rotfl: However, I hear it should still be coming warm at least for the rest of September so that will be nice :)
MrsI Hope you managed to get sorted with card.
    Welcome to newbies.
Freespirit although I am quite good with technology I am the same and have all my present list written with pen and paper, that way it goes in to my Christmas binder :snow_laug

I have put our piece of beef in the slow cooker, and we are having a Monday night roast which will be nice :D As yesterday we had an eat up tea.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

MrsI .. my daughter lost (or left at Kh's) her dinner card last weekend. That is £2 to replace, I did phone school and they waived the fee as it was at KHs and he was on holiday!

I think I have filled everyones gifts on the Christmas app.. one perk of the baby having me up for 2 hours in the middle of the night.. struggling a bit wit the 'links' thing for the shopping list but it appears most extended family are bought for already!

I need to start picking up bits for my stepdads hamper. And get everything paid off my credit card for the amazon black Friday week thing, that should only take a couple of weeks its not a huge amount... I got my stepdad an Eric Clapton vinyl/CD/DVD thing last Christmas which he loved!

I need wool to knit my mother a scarf and for the MOL a cardy.

  • I've decided secret santa is the most irritating thing ever! because you have to wait to find out who you have. I keep seeing things and thinking that would be good for so and so.... but then I might not have them! hmmph!

    Welcome Cav82 :) x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

  • Hi all, old poster and lurker here. Always end up back on here around September time after kids go back to school. Well I am happy so far with my present pile. Got the kids their pjs. A few DVDs, console games. Always have the stocking presents which include smellies, perfume and nail varnish and make up in Jan. Everything I managed to pick up in the January boots sale. Got all my present wrap, tags , crackers etc.

I have bought my girls their main present already. So it's just a case of crossing of the lists. Both my girls have not asked for a lot so hopefully should not get myself too stressed. I have written out our christmas three day meal plan in order to minimise waste. Look forward to chatting with you all. X

    Hello all,

I've been following your posts avidly and wondered if I can join you too?

I'm a massive christmas head, been browsing and half planning for weeks now but I finally downloaded a christmas present app on my phone last week and realised just how many we buy for
Generally relatives and our friends children, 32 gifts not including our own two! So I've started bargain hunting and so far I've accumulated a fair few online buys in the house of Fraser and kiddicare sales so I've made a start!

I love the birthday plaques, what do I search for online for the kit can I ask?

Went into a local fancy pants shop today and they had they're Xmas shop set up :) lush but oh so pricey, just for looking me thinks!

Looking forward to getting into the spirit of it with you all

Welcome to the Christmas nut house :D

I forgot to mention I bought my first Christmas food item last week. It was our Boxing Day gammon and it was super MSE as I had a wait rose voucher, so didn't cost a penny :)

the allowence def doesn't cover a full meal  dd meals average around £2.50-£3 so I top up her account with £3/4 a wk but she doesn't eat much and takes a drink with her as drinks are nearly £1 otherwise.our school does cashless catering so I can monitor how much she is spending and top up accordingly

    welcome cav82

does anyone get the influenza flu vaccine? had a letter for taz today as they are offering a nasal version for 2-4yr olds this yr not sure wether its a good idea to have it done or not as I know quite a few people who had bad experience with the jab last yr.

haven't done much xmas prep this wk but ds preorder game came and included a free tshirt which wasn't advertised so that's going into the xmas stash :D

looking for marvel avenger themed stuff if anyone sees any good offers thanks
