  • Fiesty Congratulations on clearing the credit card! :j

MrsI Don't worry about falling off the wagon. At least you remember to get back on! :D

I normally give the kids of the family (my cousins children) some sweets along with their money but as sweets are unhealthy I'm trying to think up a cheap alternative for a maximum of £2.50 each. I have girls of ages 8, 9, 12, 14, 16 and a boy aged 9 to buy for. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'd like to buy the gifts on the high street if possible.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

    Good Sunday Morning Everyone :D
I have been reading since I last posted but haven't had much to post and been flitting around all over the place. So whilst OH has a couple hours welding to do in the garage I have parked my bottom with a cup of tea and the laptop for my feed of Christmas :xmassmile
irishrose thanks for the elf link, really cute!
pixitotts eurghh toothpain is the worst. I have slightly skimmed through the rest of the dental related posts as they make me a little nausea. I have fillings and had a root canal last year but still not a fan, luckily still an NHS dentist near us.
mrsI don't worry, this past month I have fell off the frugal wagon too :o as long as we get back on its ok :D
omo glad to see you posting again and feeling a little better, also happy to see fingers is doing well but well wishes for your dad.
chrissy whoop thank you for the decathlon link. My brother is quite hard to buy for but he more or less lives in sweats as he is a personal trainer and works at a gym running classes and things too so this may be very very helpful :D
dollypop I love the arm knit scarves, once you get rolling you can do them in 30mins or a single loop with thick wool I can do in 15mins now :rotfl: everyone is getting them for Christmas and I have made a few to sell also.
fesity eeeekkk well done :T I bet that is such a relief!

Well I have this morning also sat down and gone through all the Christmas presents, properly set the limits per person, priced the scarves and headbands that I made and I now feel much happier with it all. I am now able to make my lists of what else I think I need ready for shopping in a couple of weeks / if I see anything in the meantime. Hopefully by the end of October I should be finished completely - other than the fudge I am making :D

I am now off to nosy at the Christmas shops already online :p

Enjoy your Sunday whatever you may be doing.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

99p store and poundland are wonderful for little token gifts! You could easily find something suitable for each of them :)

  • Hi everyone

Been lurking for a little while but have decided to join in. Normally I'm a last minute shopper, but this year I need to be more prepared :)

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and will probably have to buy most of my presents off the internet.

I want to try my hand at the snowman soups this year for the kids in the family. Has anyone seen candy canes yet in the shops? Or is it still too early?

  • Well done Fiesty!

Random question but I want to get my boyfriend some American sweets etc I know he likes to go with his presents but don't really want to spend a fortune! Does anybody know where I can get them quite cheaply please? X

I got a load of American sweets in B&M last week for a sweet hamper I'm making up. Wonka Nerds and Gobstoppers at £1 each, Reeces selection of sweets ranging from 50p - £1 and some other kind that I can't remember the name of ATM:o

  • FeistyFidget - Thanks for the root canal lesson :)
Sadly my dentist left before 6 months (he was sleeping with the dental nurse), so it never got reviewed, and then had a temp dentist who just did a normal yearly check up no further xrays or anything were ever done. I have absolutely no confidence in his dental work now anyway as my sister has just seen another new dentist who wants to redo her fillings saying they were appalling, and those were done by the guy who did my root canal :/ doesn't exactly fill you with confidence.

kayandy - some of the american sweets are popping up in poundland apparently. Some Tesco's also have a whole American section, don't remember thinking they were expensive in there either, I can't be sure on prices as I was focused on the Iced Tea :D lol

Fiesty huge congrats on being debt free :T

chrissy love that duvet set some other lovely one one there too

DanielleNic87 welcome sains have candy canes already £1.50 so should imagine other will have them soon if not already

3forholidays mugs with various fillers are often a hit and you could always add the money in the middle.

Poundland currently have reese's pieces, lucky charms and willy wonkas nerds. Asda and bigger Teso's also usually have an American section in their sweet aisle.

Congratulations Feisty! Your hard work has paid off! :j
