I'm at work so haven't had time to read everyone's posts in depth but hugs and well wishes to those who need them!
I'm sure there's plenty of inspiration for me when I read back later!
I made a bottle of skittle vodka at the weekend using some "wild berry" skittles, which were £1.40 (I'm sure you can find them for £1 or less) and some basics vodka I had at home (classy bird, me!) I split the vodka into two containers, half had the green and blue ones and the other container had the red, pink and purple ones.
I shook them and left them for about 14 hours, giving them a shake whenever I went in the kitchen and by morning they were done! (a cheats way is to make it in a bottle and put it in the dishwasher as the heat will melt the sweets) I strained the vodka through an old tshirt as you get horrible white bits from the sweets floating in it. I didn't have enough of the red/pink/purple half so I topped up my bottle with the green/blue and was left with a lovely layered effect!
I've decided I'm going to make sweets for people this year as an excuse for my mum and I to have a baking day (like we need one!)Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

OMO - glad to see you have posted, not so much that you have been having a rough time, sending hugs!!
I have not concentrated very well at work today, between thinking about all the bits I need to do when I get home and my head in the land of Christmas, my concentration level is rather poor - also I don't really like my job so it doesn't help :rotfl:
Glad to see that the shops are getting the xmas sweets/chocs in now, i'm hoping to have a good raid for any deals on Thursday. Won't be buying if there isn't any though!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

OMO Sorry to read that you are not 100%. Hope that you feel much better soon.
JJ Ouch to slipping getting out of the bath! I only get to have a bath when I go on holiday (if the accommodation has one) as I've just got a shower at home.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

OUCH ,although im seriously jealous of the bath as we have a wet room and I REALLY miss a nice soak.
I was staying at an outdoor activity centre once and wondered why there was a mop and pail in the corner of the wet room. When someone used the shower we quickly discovered why the mop had been provided - the water ran everywhere! It definitely put me off ever having one!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

This is becoming the bad news thread - my mum rang me at work and informed me that my beautiful West Highland Terrier, Jeff, had died suddenly aged 8
absolutely heartbroken.

Mandco and feistyfidget Thank you for the well wishes......day one went well...the kids both loved it, I think I was more worried about it than either of them....I must admit though it was nice to be able to have the house to myself for once....I've managed to sort my present cupboard (Which has now progressed into a present ROOM) and make lists of all the presents I've already bought aswell as all the things I still need to buy
OMO Lovely to see you back...you're doing a fab job with the caravan pot....wish I could save like that!!!I hope you are feeling better soon!0 -

So sorry to hear this Lulu, 8 is no age and it must have been a huge shock for you and your mum. Sending you virtual hugs.
OMO, glad you managed to post but sorry to hear you're not feeling your best at the moment. I think Arthien said it all.
JJ - ouch, that sounds painful.
Opee - glad their first day went well. Won't be long before you're wondering where your 'free time' went lol.
Had a fab day today, been to The Range, B&M, Dunelm and Home Bargains. Got a few bits for Christmas and some really sweet Thomas pjs for DGS1 - he's 2 and is Thomas mad, bless him. I nearly bought some lovely looking spices in jars from B&M for the 'foodie' hamper that I'm doing but the label said 'best before date on base' and there wasn't anything on the base so I thought it best not to take a chance - don't want to give people out of date bitsIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone, i have had a right night tonight, i noticed my cupboard under the sink was full of water this morning so i emptied it and put towels in there and waited until DD1 or DS came home from work to see if they could see where the leak was coming from, DD1 was having a look, wiped down the pipes to see where it was and it just started spraying everywhere we had to run around getting bowls, buckets, towels, kitchen was beginning to flood, she couldnt get the stopc**k in kitchen to turn off, so i rang HA emergency call out, 2 hours later:mad: someone came, in the meantime we found the stopc**k out on the path and managed to turn water off thank god!! He managed to plug pipe off it had just snapped/sheared off, it was the one to my filter tap that my ex put in, while this plumber was looking around he couldnt believe all the pipes and valves and where they were in my kitchen and how ex has built the kitchen in around them, so they are impossible to get to  he said we were lucky he had the size plug he did because they dont use that size pipe, it would have meant ripping my kitchen out!! I said 'Would you believe me if i told you my ex was a plumber' this bloke couldnt believe it!! So now i need to calm down, my stress and anxiety levels have been through the roof tonight
JUNIORJ omg you poor thing, didnt you chip a tooth earlier in the year? Take care of yourself my lovely
NEWTHRIFT dont talk to me about leaks haha but i still have one in my conservatory roof so need to get it sorted really before winter otherwise i will have to buy another tarpaulin and put over roof
OMO lovely to hear from you, sorry you are feeling so ill, hope you get well soon, and i hope fingers is home and well now x
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh thanks for the info, all info gratefully received because although she meets up with the group at the hotel, she still has to fly, go through airport and find her way to the hotel on her own, so the more she knows the better
LULU i have just made some blackberry liqueur this weekend but i am dying to make werthers vodka this yearoh honey, i am so sorry about your dog, it is so sad when they leave us but when they go so young it makes it all the harder, we lost our last husky at 5 1/2 quite suddenly and we were devastated and thought it was so unfair, sending you lots of hugs x
