Good morning, even tho' it is raining! Show went well, They all got a certificate for something, DGS' was 'questionmaster' for asking the most questions and being enthusiastic about everything. (his mum whispered to me 'why are neither of us surprised he got that one?')
She and I are off for a (window) shopping day today.
I have netted the courgettes, to see if it helps, harvested the first peas last night, yum.
My nephew and his partner got the keys for their first home yesterday, a little 2 bed bungalow. It is lovely, and they are soooo excited, and delighted.

doing a joint birthday bbq this month so got a few of the morries vouchers and stocked up on meat for that :D dont get there very often as its a bit out of the way so picked up a few other bits while there and as spent over 40 got a free mini disney card game so that can go in ds stocking

wilkos have the pick & mix half price so treated the kids they also had quite a few cough/cold products in the clearance section for just 50p each so grabbed a few for the winter stock cupboard.

glad its cooler today and the garden got a much needed watering but also got me thinking as we've been lucky and had a decent summer this yr are we going to get a bad winter too? so going to sort out a winter prep list and see what we need to stock up on been ok the last couple of yrs as we seem to avoid the worst of the bad weather but you never know

off to try and read back if taz will give me 2 mins peace
    hope everyones doing ok tc

We had a meeting yesterday with the LEA SEN Manager, I must admit we weren't expecting much as dd is adamant she doesn't want to go back into education. I was wrong and there is hope for dd to get out and about without us.

She is being referred to another dept so a youth worker will be assigned to her, this person will help her gain as much independence as possible and will take her through various voluntary options and support her while she is doing whatever she decides to try.

There is also a craft based group she can attend when she is 18 next April. This was initially paid via direct payment or self funded at £50 per day but the funding has changed and its now free. Got to love lottery funded projects !

During term time there is a Friday night SN youth group for 13-25 yr olds.

And finally there are disabled only swimming sessions [pool is less crowded ] with trained swim staff in the water.

For the first time in about 12 months there is a flicker of a light .

    Christmas is progressing nicely .

we are getting regular full night sleeps so im almost back to feeling normal again [well as close to normal as I am!!]

I've not posted in ages but been following. Work is manic but good Nd with the holidays in ths mix I'm juggling a bit but all good fun

Omo fab news about fingers and I hope you get a caravan before the end of summer the way your storming most definitely. Your dad sounds a star.

Free spirit I'm sorry I did chuckle health professionals keep telling me chocolate is bad for me but I think pain therapy a la the mic might be the only way I believe it is. Hope you're all healed and this break in the weather has helped with the migraines. Todays weather has been fairly entertaining as I've just stayed in and lisrrened to the rain interspersed with the odd flash of lightening and rumble of thunder. Cool.

Irishrose what is the phone app please. I'm really not organised.

Christmas prep. Ping pong balls finally in the pound shop so my friend grabbed them for me. This is for Christmas games a la pinterest. Some pint plastic glasses for snowman faces to be drawn on and to hold pop corn for film nights again pinterest. Also home bargains Ive brought one of every virtual brand perfume at 89p I think they were well worth it. I didn't like the flowers copy my friend did she wears flowers though I think any or all would be worthy stocking fillers for any girl old or young in my opinion.

Dd is muttering ipad. I hate technology so research to be done me thinks.

    Love to all x

    Afternoon everyone,

RUTHHONEY what a fab idea, who must have thought of that an underground library? I hope none get ruined though if found by troublemakers, hope you enjoy it! Ha congratulations on your win, do you know what it is or is it a surprise book? I love hearing about the shows you go to or have booked, everyone i know who has seen it has said exactly the same thing, the kids are brilliant in it.

I love the idea and might enquire about helping out if they need people to doll out the books. I hope people make use of the scheme as it was intended-and that it introduces people to new authors they might not have read before. I know the kindle free books have done that with me. I end up buying more books from an author I've gotten a free book from. Had a tweet from Matt Dunn today. I've got one of his books to read-plus he's got a story in the Sunlounger 2 collection.

My competition win was called 'Bring Me Home' by Alan Titchmarsh. :T

I'm almost finished with Twelve Days of Christmas, so who wants it next?
    Evening everyone,

PRINCESSKITTY hope everything is ok, as no morning post from you on here????

MRSMONEYPENNY oh that is good news she is doing well :) thankyou DS got me two papers this morning so £20 of meat for £10 will do me great

OMO oh glad to hear from you :) that is fab news fingers should be home this week, hope they sorted out the infection, i bet you cant wait to start looking for a lovely caravan now your pot is bursting :D

3FORHOLIDAYS oh im glad you enjoyed it, i might try and see it before christmas as part of my reward on my challenges, i did want to see dirty dancing but it is on tour

Oooh, I loved Dirty Dancing. As soon as we left the theatre, I was asking when we could see it again. Saw it twice, and was planning on going a third time, but didn't get chance. I adore the film too. I wonder why they haven't done Pretty Woman as a show? They've done so many other things and it has a great soundtrack.

Eta-just channel hopping and Pretty Woman is on Watch right now...:)
Nothing happening here i'm afraid freespirit! I had to go out yesterday morning and didn't have time to post, then I was too tired in the afternoon! We were saying this morning that it's probably better if baby doesn't come today as it's our nephew's birthday today, poor old Grandparents would have two on one day! Of course it doesn't really matter though. :)

Gettingtherequickly koshari sounds yummy! You must be getting really excited about going away. Your washing line story made me smile, glad you found it in the end! How strange would that be if someone just stole a whole washing line?!

Ruth_honey I've read a few books in the past year that have been given to me and that I wouldn't normally read, and it's really nice to read something different now and again. I ran out of books at one stage so rifled through DH's, he only reads autobiographies so I ended up reading both of Chris Evan's books - i'm not particularly a Chris Evans fan but his books were really interesting! Congrats on the Book People win, it's so exciting winning a comp! What did you win?

mrs-moneypenny great bargains! I love it when I just happen across great bargains, gives me a little thrill. Hope MiL is well.

msgigglewick you'll have to enlighten me - what is a Batman Lego tumbler? The first thing I thought of was a cup to drink out of - but at £159 i'm guessing not!! :rotfl:

OMO good to hear from you! I hope Fingers is ok, sounds positive that he might be out soon. Wow the CV pot is MASSIVE! Well done you! And what a great bonus your dad adding £1000 to the pot, it must be nearly in your reach now. :T

Hello IrishRose . It's a dangerous game hiding presents - so easy to forget they're there! I have to put everything I buy on a spreadsheet now otherwise I wouldn't know what was going on! :) I'd say the candy canes should be fine, they probably won't taste quite as good as when newly bought but I don't think anyone would notice.

mrsinvisible hope you enjoy the show at the school and you catch the courgette culprit!

The security tag stories were making me smile. When I first moved in with DH we had mostly his stuff as he had lived in an unfurnished property, and his ironing board still had a security tag on it. I knew he hadn't stolen it of course (I mean of all the things to steal why would it be an ironing board?!) and I have to say we used it for another four years with it still attached!

I quite enjoy biographies, so I might try the Chris Evans ones. I didn't get into David Jason's one, which was a shame. I may try again another time, but it wasn't grabbing me. Paul O Grady ones were good. I think I've read the first two.

hi there another wet morning outside chez invis glad l am staying indoors. Got my first tomatoes off the vines yesterday, they were yummy. Shopping yesterday was ace, M&S clearance section of the outlet shop was heaving with bargains, so cheap they were almost paying you to take them away! Got DD a pair of jeans, 2 tops 4 pairs of knickers and got change from £20. Also got some goodies for stocking fillers and a main present for my Fave coz.
Skype this morning as the nibs are back in china after their visit to their other gran in Canada, looking so forward to it, but as dgd likes me to show her all round the house l had better tidy it up first!
Hope the luggagers get to use the spoils on lots of happy travels, hugs to all of you, xxx
