IrishRose yes I set a limit too, I managed to come in under the limit last year and hope to do the same this year. Very satisfying doing that!
msgigglewick oh blimey not a cup at all!! Men will always be big boys at heart.
CHRISSYG that's fantastic news for your daughter, you all must be feeling a lot more positive about the future. Good luck with the shopping trip!
Ruth_honey I read David Jason's book earlier this year and enjoyed it, but I know what you mean it didn't grab me straight away. I think Chris Evans has done so many crazy things that it keeps it interesting!
Well DH and I went to a classic British bbq at a friends house yesterday - one minute we were outside enjoying glorious sunshine, then ran in when it started raining, then out again when the sun came back out, then back in when it started raining again and so on! :rotfl: It did stop eventually and we managed to enjoy a good few hours out in the nice weather.
We're going to go for a walk in some woods near us today whilst the weather isn't too hot and then into town for a nice smoothie.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. x0 -
Sunny Sunday Afternoon Greeting eveyone
After a few days of lots of rain, the sun is back out thankfully...which means the washing machine is working overtime :rotfl:
omo - glad to see you posting, and fingers hopefully coming home soon ALSO well done on the CV pot :T
irishrose - no some children (and adults for that matter) really don't have any manners! That is a lovely thing that you do for them though at Christmas with the candy canes. I have some left myself, might have to try decorating them up.
I can't remember what else I have read, so I do apologise. It has been a busy week, both at my normal work and in the office at home. Managed to catch up on the housework yesterday and today. Really need to keep to my home binder plan of doing a little per day...I must improve:o
Right, time to get beef dinner ready for later and have a cup of tea.
Hope NAN is OK wherever she is.
Best wishes and hugs to those who need/want.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
I take back what I said about dd ,she bought a skirt /top/ankle boots and a bag for a grand total of £64 and only had to go into 2 shops:D
My PITA neighbour caught me first thing to say they were having a BBQ at 4pm ,plenty of time to get my washing in .When we got back from shopping they had banged on the door waking oh up [works nights] to tell him the same thing except they are doing smoke signals at bloody 1pm !
They have a back garden Steptoe would be proud of with random bits of wood/furniture and an old mattress all over the place and now he has started adding empty calor gas bottles to the mix he currently has 4 under the trampoline while the wood is stored on it !!!!!
sorry for the rant but he is getting to me at the moment.

I send gifts to sick children through Post Pals Charity also, and send them gifts at Christmas, and I think the most I have spent was £3.99 for them as I got them all in the Argos sale:Tirishrose - no some children (and adults for that matter) really don't have any manners! Children in work get a shock from me sometimes when they anser me in a certain way or demand something from me, and I just say no. They don't know what to do or say as it seems they don't know what the word No means these days!
As for the Candy Canes...... A brown pipe cleaner, red pom pom and 2 googly eyes are all that's needed.

DJ book-I'll give it another try sometime then. Maybe I was too hasty to give up.
Any takers for Twelve Days Of Christmas book? Finished it last night, so can post it on in the week. I really enjoyed it. Festive without being too twee.
Hosted a BBQ for the neighbours this afternoon. It was really nice. Some people brought some meat to go on the grill and we had some drinks, chatted and made everyone passing by jealous with the smells coming from the front yard. It was good to get to know them a bit better. The noisy ones upstairs didn't make it because they had a kids party to go to, but we did invite them, so I don't feel too bad.
Hope I manage a lie in tomorrow-I'm knackered!

Evening everyone, i have been a right lazy mare this weekend and just chilled out, yesterday i ran a few errands (got my morries meat
i wish i had bought more papers now) then came home and watched Rock of Ages, i have been putting off watching this because i cant stand Tom Cruise, BUT actually i quite enjoyed it and he was brilliant in it, then The Inbetweeners came on the tv last night so i watched that again, i still laugh myself stupid at the same bits
then today i slept in, read a trashy celebrity gossip magazine with a nice coffee and then watched Jack the Giant Slayer (DD1s choice) but i actually quite liked that as well, the house is a mess but i just dont care at the moment
MRSINVISIBLE wow that is some bargains from M&S outlet for DD,, hope your skyping went well today with DS and family
CHRISSYG glad DDs shopping spree went wellI agree about Mike Smith i was really shocked when i first noticed it on yahoo, what an awful shock for his wife Sarah Greene. I am fed up of my neighbours too atm they are so bloody noisy its driving me up the wall, revving motorbike every day etc i will be glad when its time to shut all the windows down for winter
although tbh i think it might be me getting wound up by it more than usual
PRINCESSKITTY oh that made me laugh about the bbq we have done that on more than one occasionglad you are having a good weekend
AMYSB86 hello and welcome to our thread, you got some fab bargains there, must try and get to HB thankyou
