It was local to me, although you are not the other side of the country, don't think you would fancy coming to Croydon! It may be worth contacting the housing department or social services of your local council.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Was in a bit of a xmas mode yesterday... did some elf prep for fb group... sourced some one to cut some shapes that were mentioned on it and waiting on them to get back to me with a price.. And i found some personalised santa trays (mdf or plywood) to leave santa some snacks for £5.25 posted. Can't wait for it to come and get painting.

Evening everyone,
MRSMONEYPENNY yes it is very humbling, and should be commemorated in opinion, all those poor people who lost their lives, and most of them were so young, my great grandad was only 27, you have got some good bargains again there, hope all went well with MIL today
MRSGIGGLEWICK oh those trays are gorgeous and what good value, i have put it in my favourites to remind me, thankyou#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Hi all. Not sure if everyone has seen the Millets Sale on Kids clothes on the Grabbit board? I just bought a few bits for DS (They didn't have DD's sizes in anything or I'd have spent more), including a puffa jacket for £5! Lots of winter stuff on there would be perfect for Christmas pressies.
I have made a promise to myself to get more involved in this thread. I read everyday but just don't seem to get around to posting much.Savings Account - £0.00

DSIL and nephew are visiting today, a brief one, as he is off to the Philippines next week, to join his wife who has been there for a year and a half, lecturing in archaeology and archaeologising in spare moments. I need to tidy up, (hide mess of life in understairs cupboard) and make something for lunch, can't remember if nephew is veggie or if it is his brother, so salad and jackets with fillings of with and without meat is probably safest bet, l guess.
Quiz last night was a hoot, the quizsetter is in the early stages of altzheimers, so random was the order of the night, and we came a modest 2nd. (there were 2 teams ).
DGnephew came with me from other DSIL and big bro's yesterday, to pick the peapods from the peas he planted, what joy to see the delight on his face, diamonds couldn't give you that buzz.
Need to to up the caffeine and get to it, hugs all round xxx0 -

Thanks Freespirit.
Things are quite exciting in the Hanley household at the moment. Our house is technically a 1 bedroom house but we have an attic conversion. Me and DH are in the attic and the kiddies are currently sharing the master bedroom. Although the house is a decent size and we are in no way falling over each other DH and I have decided that we would like a house where the kiddies at least have their own bedrooms. Cue the long conversation about everything that needs doing in our house in order to sell it/rent it out!
The big job is the fact that we have needed a new roof for a couple of years but just haven't got around to it. DH called a few companies for quotes and we got a good one from a local company although they pointed out a wasp nest that we hadn't even noticed and have said that we need to get rid of that before they'll do the roof. I don't blame them I wouldn't want to get up there either! Anyway, luckily, our next door neighbour's brother works for pest control and say he will come and get rid of the nest this weekend and all being well work on the roof will start on Monday!
Once that is completed we can make a start on all the smaller jobs. We are hoping to have it ready to sell/rent out by this time next year! :T
Because of this it will probably be a modest Xmas this year but it will all be worth it. I already have 10 of the 30 people I need to buy for sorted and I know what I want to get the others just looking for bargain prices.
Sorry for the long post, must get back to work now.Savings Account - £0.00
