Morning Lovelies,
JJ The Sea air obviously agrees with you! You are destined to move to the seaside
MrsM I hope MIL is home with you soon xxx
Peppapig, I'm so sorry for your loss xxx
PrincessKitty, enjoy your last few days of freedom, 6th August will be here before you know it! x
Sorry I've been awol - I'm currently on week 3 of pulling doubles (leaving the house at 8 to nurse until 6 and then doing orders until just gone 9) and I'm shattered!
I've also had a case of the BD as family members have just given birth (spent the entire pregnancy whining and complaining about the pregnancy and woe is them etc) and another family member has number 3 on the way with number 2 being only 8 months old and all her and DH do is fight and argue. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti baby, but with all our infertility issues I would have expected a little bit of compassion, rather than being pushed into making birth announcement paper cuts and hearing everything repeatedly. Two friends of ours have 3 months old and I love them to bits, but these two friends have always been very sweet, acknowledged our struggle/losses and never tried to thrust their babies upon us.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

nitnurse sorry I didn't come back on yesterday so glad you found the code! I should have said in my original post - I didn't think.
junior_j your break by the sea sounds fab. There's noting like it sometimes, it can be really rejuvenating and take your mind off things. Like some others on here I have a rolling Christmas spreadsheet, I just update it each year. It has lots of tabs!! But it helps me stay organised, I would totally forget everything I had otherwise!
3forholidays where did you go away? Sorry if I missed you saying! So glad to hear you had a lovely time. I do enjoy going abroad but I think some of our favourite holidays have been in the UK, there are so many lovely places to explore.
freespirit get the bags! Save the stress!
I'm not sure OMO will see this but when I saw the bags I immediately thought of her - I remember the year before last she used normal gift bags and her daughter wasn't impressed - these would be acceptable i'm sure!
Feisty i'm sorry to hear that people who are close to you are being insensitive, and I imagine it's difficult to say anything to them. I think some people get wrapped up in their own world and just don't think about what they're doing or the effect it will have on others. I imagine that you're polite and just get on with it and they will take this as you are fine. I know it's easy for me to say but try not to think about them too much and stay positive for you and DH. I'm sorry I don't mean to sound condescending and I know I've moaned on here myself at times, but just stick with it as no-one deserves it more than you and your DH.0 -
Whoops been almost a week since I have been on (well Wednesday), I have just read and caught up. Been a very busy week and weekend, along with my Grandad got taken in to hospial Wednesday evening and he isn't great, a big mixture of things, he is OK in himself, I won't go in to detail as some of it is a little TMI but overall my mum and dad (it's dad's dad) are putting there foot down that he is to be more sorted before being sent home due to one particualr issue as it will not be good for him to be home with that...anway.. fingers crossed he starts picking up this week!
dropsofjupiter - I love both of them but I know someone that owl necklace will be perfect for, will be ordering in a moment.
peppapig - my deepest condolences for yours and DH's loss!!!
JJ - sounds (reads) like you have had a lovely time
feisty - sorry that people are not being too sensitive that are close with you, I hope things work out as soon as possible for you both.
I did catch odd bits of QVC christmas in July but I managed to look through all the gifts on my phone app - thank goodness for smartphones. I couldn't decide if to part with my money for a pre-lit tree, so I didn't buy it. Was umming and ahhing over a few other bits but no purchases in the end.
Wrapped OH's birthday presents on Saturday eve as he was on a stag do (the final part of the one where they also went to magaluf). I was expecting him to be rather drunk when I picked him up at 2.30am but he was alright
Just tired.
Not much else to report here, will try and keep up better this week!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Not condescending at all
as for complaining whilst being pregnant, go for it, I completely understand why people would, by all accounts your body feels like its no longer your own and most women are extremely uncomfortable throughout. My cousin took it to the extreme though, kept palming off her 2 year old son (who is as quiet as a mouse and an angel) off on others as she needed 'me' time. Refused to do even the smallest thing like take her plate to the kitchen after lunch, demanded people wait on her hand and foot and even stole our nan's last bit of bread for lunch as baby wanted toast and then didn't eat it as it wasn't to her taste  this has all been from 6 weeks gone and we've heard about it constantly.
Still trying to remain positive though

PrincessKitty29 I don't think that I mentioned that I went to coastal Hampshire (Lymington) - a long way from central Scotland!
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Thank you Susan, Mrs I, DoJ, BEG, JJ, Feisty and Newthrift - this is such a supportive and caring thread. We're just taking one day at a time at the mo. Today hasn't been a good one for DH but I think getting really upset this morning was a good thing because he really needed to let some of the pain out.
JJ - so sorry your head is giving you such a rough time again. Hoping that the London appointment will prove to be the breakthrough you deserve. Glad you had a lovely time at the seaside. I'm another one with a Christmas and Birthday spreadsheet - I roll it over each year too so it means I can look back and see what we got people previously which means I can avoid repetitions lol.
Hoping OMO (and Fingers) and Nana are ok.
Hugs to all that need them.
Cooler here today but still managed to get the washing dry on the line so ironing tonight for me!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Hi everyone!
Yet again, I've not had chance to pop in for a while. Where do the days go???
I've been reading Twelve Days Of Christmas and really enjoying it. Think I'm almost half way through at the moment. It's odd reading a Christmas book in summer, but I wanted to get it read so I can pass it on to someone else in here next. I actually had a tweet from the author earlier!
I had posted in reply to the book people who had tweeted asking what people were reading over the weekend, with the hashtag #SummerReading. I said what I'd read and put the hashtag #NotSoSummerReads! Next thing I know, Trisha Ashley had favourited it and she tweeted me!
It's been so much cooler here today. A nice change, to be honest. I hate feeling sweaty. Was at a party on Saturday night and it was still sticky at midnight.
JJ-when is your London appointment? Happy to meet up with you for a coffee if I'm free and you want to...
Princesskitty-I was talking about you the other day! I'm glad the day went well and the baby didn't make an early appearance. I was hoping you'd be ok with all the travelling.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
