  • pixtotts yay for your new car! :j Hope you enjoy it. Good spot on the first class train ticket - I've gone first class a couple of times and loved getting the free hot drink and biscuits. :D To be honest I usually love a good storm too, but they all seem to be at silly-o'clock in the morning at the moment! Plus we had early hours thunderstorms two nights in a row in two different parts of the country - had we stayed in one we would have only had one keeping us up one night!

freespirit my bags are nearly there, I could do with a few more bits and pieces but I have the essentials should anything happen now. Baby's bag was fully packed but I decided to wash everything so it needs repacking, but i'm going to iron it first - I know this will be the only time in my life I will iron the baby's things! I imagine once it's here you barely have time to wash it all let alone iron it! :rotfl:

CHRISSYG enjoy the peace and Christmas wrapping!

I am currently watching Christmas in July on QVC for the fist time in my life. I seem to want to buy everything that lights up! It's a shame it clashes with the Commonwealth Games but i'll keep flicking back. Randomly my mum just called to say they're clearing out their flat and did I want some 8m flashing Christmas rope lights - well how could I say no?! :p
  • Oh dear, today could be dangerous - I haven't even got dressed yet and I've just bought the 36 piece Kraft Handle Bag Assortment on QVC!

I just really loved the look of them and it worked out at only 52p a bag. I was thinking of using brown paper and Washi tape to wrap presents this year so they would go nicely with them.

Oh no you managed to catch all the storms that is unfortunate :( .
Those bags are beautiful! especially the owl one!!! I love owls!! The would go brilliantly with washi tape and brown paper. Thats what I'm planning on using this year too! :)

Happy Christmas in July everyone! DH is poorly today so asleep upstairs and I'm getting my Christmas fix with QVC.

Haven't posted for a while but have been reading as often as possible. We've had a difficult time over the past few weeks as DH's eldest son died suddenly and unexpectedly last month which sort of knocked everyone sideways. We had to wait for the PM results from the coroner before we could arrange the funeral but it's all taken place now and it's just a case of taking one day at a time and all supporting each other in trying to move forward.

Didn't want to put a damper on our lovely festive thread which is why I haven't posted anything about it before but at the same time I don't feel I can carry on and post as normal without saying anything.

Anyway, I'm enjoying Christmas in July even if it's like an oven outside. I love the hot weather (sorry Freespirit) but having Christmas to look forward to always makes the end of summer bearable. My Christmas prep starts properly once I've had my QVC fix but I have done a few bits over the past few months. I've almost finished a pamper hamper for DIL and I'm doing a manly one for DS. I think we're going to treat DD and family to tickets to the Harry Potter experience - they're all huge fans so I'm sure they'll love it although it will be joint Christmas and Birthday for DD and DSIL as we're not planning on spending as much on the grown ups.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

  • I echo Mrs M, it is very tough when someone dies before they should and having to deal with the legal bureaucracy when all you want to do is arrange the funeral.

Take one day at a time and that will get you through each day, and don't forget, if the situation arises, it is ok to smile or laugh.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
