Hello ladies, sorry not been on for a few weeks. I'm finally working, getting a couple shifts a week as well as setting up another fb page selling fudge and Scottish tablet. So been kept busy.

Hope you are all well? I will have a read back a few pages. X

Oooo Nic, can I ask if it was easy to get inspected by the local council for your food prep certificate? I do love baking, and it is something I have always pondered about, but was told that it can be a bit difficult getting the council to sign off as you need separate hand wash, fridge etc.

Thanks for the tip Nana! I feel your pain, I'm only on day 7 and everything is mounting up and I just want to dive in and get it all sorted - plus I started a pinterest board for organising the home and it's really calling to me ;)

    Morning everyone

Don't worry nana I'm still here just feeling a bit meh :( Nothing major just lots of bits added together. On the bright side DH has booked two days away next week for our anniversary which isn't till 1st April but he said he could manage two nights next week or one night the week after as prices doubled then. Totally agree with his reckoning on that one. ;)

Hope all the poorlies are on the mend and hugs to anyone in need.

Thanks again nana for your concern and I promise to try and pop in each day even if its just to say hi.

Weather has definitely deteriorated here now but I did manage to get the lawns cut yesterday :j

I'm around, just recovering from my foot op!
The op went well but it soon became apparent that I was going to need looking after so I am back at my Mum and Dads in my old bedroom! I couldn't realistically manage to cook and walk the dog all on crutches and not being allowed to put my foot down for the 1st week....
So here I am and it's been fine. I've managed to sort out my Mum and Dads gas and electric bills, sky and my Dads massive overspend on his mobile phone - talking too much! They let him off his overspend for last month and I have now changed the tariff. Mum liked to stay loyal to her has and electric company but when I could save them £290 a year she realised that things have changed. Have now out the dates in my diary to re check next year for them.
I like to think I'm earning my keep a little.
So no other news to report, as can't get far! But am enjoying the sunshine. Hope everyone else is keeping well

Good Morning. Quickly popping on before I head to work.

Nanamia I sig does look a bit strange out of context doesn't it. :rotfl:

FF organisation boards on Pinterest are both a God send and a curse. :rotfl: I will pop on there later and see what you have pinned. :)

Hope everyone is feeling well or just better than they did.

    morning all
had a long weekend off but spent two days of it friday and saturday working in the garden with DH. we went to a local wood reclamation yard (didnt know it was there till googling for old scaffold planks and found a community run place in the city). really lovely people mostly volunteers, sorted out just what we needed cut it to fit and a very good price. so we now have a boxed in bad at the bottom of the garden, an empty compost bin - we dug it all into the new bed and garden looking neat and tidy for first time in ages.

had some shopping to drop off for DD1 and while doing the aforementioned play on google happened to put local wool and sewing shops in found a lovely new shop in DDs village so DH asid i could go and buy something for working so hard in the garden, got some gorgeous wool/yarn its got holes along one edge and you knit/crochet into the holes and end up with a lacy ruffled scarf. got some with a sort of fake fur edging and made DD2 a scarf for her birthday and some red lacy cotton type thread and knitted that up. i think ill claim that but want to get some more to make a frind one for her april birthday.
nsnsmia thank you very much for the kind offer to help with the printer - ive only just seen it DS2 sorted me out. well it sort of sorted itself out, id saved the pattern onto our puter as it said it was only available till 14th march. and when i opened it from there to print instead of just trying to print it from their site all the size/printing options were available. Ive had a rummage and fund a couple of pieces of fabric so might hopefully knock out 2 skirts this week.

seems like we at last have some good news to celebrate in the thread, so glad to read MrFeisty is home, i hope the panic attacs and stress start to ease as he starts to feel comfier in his own surroundings.
glad to see JJ is still recovering well. no more scares young lady stay home and safe we worry about you.

i hope the poorlies start to feel better or at least get some relief from their symptoms

i hope everyones plans are under control and coming to fruition

ive got a funeral to go to this afternoon so am really just going to be pottering before work as i cant really put my mind to anything.

hugs to all and i do hope you get something to make you smile, ive just been watching the pair of robins that last week were sorting through our compost bin as it was full and the lid had been left off. they looked most annoyed as they flew in and found the lid on, after a few scouts round the garden i think they've forgiven me as they spatted the moss we raked out of the lawn and left to blow or be collected as nest lining and theyve also discovered the composted contents of the compost bin had been dug into the new back bed, making it easier for them to pick trough.

Evening everyone, well i got the ceiling painted, 3 coats and the coving is finished now, but as i had to go food shopping, i never got DD1s cake decorated so will have to get up early and do it tomorrow :)

FEISTY that is fab news, hope his stress goes quickly, have a lovely weekend the both of you x

MRSINVISIBLE actually it wasnt as drippy as i feared, although it took a good couple of coats, but that was probably my filthy ceiling :D x

NEWTHRIFT oh what a lovely idea, my DD1s christmas work do, gave those out and they were great and well used. I think you have done fab to get that many filled and only spent £40 well done you

    OMO love the quote x

PEPPAPIG oh you sound like my sister, she loves decorating and is always at it, total opposite to me :D the paint actually wasnt as bad as i thought, although coverage wasnt very good but my ceiling was filthy, it took my sister to point that out :D the colour sounds lovely, yes i know what you mean the water based paints are great arent they and no smell, i now need to buy a special primer and satinwood paint for my built in pine shelving units x

RUTH oh wow they are fab, you clever thing, i remember you saying when you started to learn, that isnt that long ago, i love the colours of the throw x

I think I've been doing it about 2 months now. The throw took about a month. It was a variegated wool, so nice to see the colours changing without having to actually change colours.

Well my lovelies where is everybody? Goodness me it quiet?

Firstly Princess it's so wonderful to hear from you! as Peppa so rightly says welcome home :) Congratulations to you both, do we know if it's a prince or Princess yet? The pre birth struggles will all be forgotten when you get that first cuddle :) Coping vibes whisking your way nausea is nasty xxx
Freespirit Oooh inspire me! I been meaning to scrapbook for such a long time. Our Festive Princess was getting into too wasn't she before she was so rudely interrupted with her 'hospital visit'. Happy birthday to your DD, I do hope you aren't over doing things, challenges, baking, decorating???? Overdue drs visits! Hope you've had a lovely day with her today and that you'll be back tomorrow, telling us what your having with your pint of Guinness for St Patricks day :) xxx
Msgigglewick well I've missed you :( How is your Grandma and your Mum? Argh bullying tutor- I do hope that's been dealt with. When you've stopped chopping yourself into little pieces for everybody else I hope you are squeezing a little "me" time in :) Maybe knitting? xxx
Mandco oh my lovely! I did have a feeling that you weren't quite yourself. I'm hoping that Freespirits and Mrs Invisibles hobnailed boots have done the trick but I'm firing mine off too. Always feel free to off load on us tho, heaven knows I've done it hundreds of times! And it really does help :) I will be keeping a close eye on you :) (somehow that sounded more of a threat thank supportive ) xxx
Feisty I know this is going to sound daft but when DH starts with those symptoms I get him to put his hand on the bottom of his tummy and breathe big breaths in and out so that he can feel it in his hands, do it with him. Sounds silly but works quickly :) xxx
Mrs Invisible news! I love to hear gossip! how were the awards? Did you and your friend enjoy them, what did you eat etc??? Details please :) Hope you managed some time "tending" to your seedling :) xxx
Newthrift I'm helping DD (chief bridesmaid) put together the party/favours bag for DNs hen party in July. So far they've (I'm way too prudish) 'shaped' lollies and straws, badges, sashes, will share your much more tasteful additions with them tomorrow xxx
Ruth you are so clever picking that up from YouTube :) I particularly love the shawl xxx
Betasam thank you, yes the tablets were unfortunately whole (tmi) not "ghosts" we did investigate. Hope you get lucky with rebooking a suitable summer camp venue, had to chuckle at the thought of you and DH watching your CCTV like a tv xxx
Nic good luck with your new venture! when I get to SW target! I've promised myself a bag! I just love butter tablet. Well done with the job too, you go girl xxx

Well the house of Nana has slowed down so much these last two weeks it's almost at a stand still :( DH gets unnerved if I'm buzzing round so I slowed everything right down but blooming hek I'm fed up. I've done so little for so long now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Festive Princess toooo the resssscuuue :) she's advised a minimal to-do-list and it's been going well the last couple of days. Such a wise lady she is :) Tomorrow I'm scheduled for a couple of 15 minute bursts (alarm set) in clearing the bedroom. I'm also going to try and get back into my routine on here cos I miss you all. xxx

B_e_g getting worried :( sending love xxx
Betsie how is the foot xxx
BBTHREE I miss you :( xxx

Linky watching the voice this weekend! I can see where the addition to your signature has come from. Oh my goodness she's done herself no favours on there has she. She so grates on me. Grumble over. I've missed my FM update this weekend. You know I like to know that your 'showroom lounge' is messy. Night night xxx

Well, I did have a little lesson from a friend first, but the YouTube video helped with that particular design.

Enjoy your anniversary break. A change of scenery does wonders. :)

It was lovely here all weekend but much cooler today. I actually got *too hot* sat in the garden yesterday morning!

Happy st. Patricks day, everyone! Any special meals planned? I think DH is making something with pork and Guinness. And he's brought me some Magners to drink too. :T

Mrs-moneypenny What you posted about the robins made me smile. That must be lovely to watch.

nanamia - :rotfl:yes I was going to have a few more naughtly shaped things in but we are going to the Grand National at Aintree and thoguth we best behave :D

ruth_honey - They look good, I keep wanting to learn to crochet, is this easier than knitting? I try at crafts but I'm not the best :( maybe more practice is what I need.

Me and OH went to look at our allotment yesterday, will be getting stuck in with it this Sunday - I might try and pop down before. I didn't do much digging my OH did it as he kept chuckling at me singing the rocky theme tune and digging fast :rotfl:
It's actually my mum and dad's but is HUGE so we have 5 big sections on it (can't remember how big they are now). Thinking if I can get some fruit growing I might make some jams for Christmas :)

Afternoon everyone, just popped on to update my signature and the DFBXMAS thread before i forget, so thought i would quickly pop on seen as i didnt get on yesterday, we had a lovely day, and then DD1 took me out for a special meal last night for her birthday and sort of mothers day, it was a really expensive posh hotel with an a la carte menu, wow how the other half live, it was a first for me, but wow, the food was gorgeous (although too much of it) it was just coming one after the other to the point i didnt think i would be able to eat my main  i expected it to be tiny portions but it wasnt!!! i couldnt even have coffee because it said with petit fours and the thought of more food to eat tipped me over the edge :rotfl:even with my big belly!! We had a fantastic, wonderful time i will never forget it and the best bit of all DD1 used a taste card haha so she got £50 off the bill, im really not made for posh places though i baulk at the price on everything, eg. £8.80 for a bottle of water, £7.80 for a glass of wine that didnt even come halfway up the blooming glass :rotfl: but what an experience :)

Free spirit - which language has DS got you learning?
Lots of birthdays this month. My six year old nephew cried on his birthday on Friday - they have a gorgeous new puppy so he was told to be careful that his presents weren't left where they could be chewed and now he thinks Father Christmas won't be able to leave any presents in case Dexter gets them!
Small trauma regarding the summer camp I help to organise - the school we had booked for accommodation has cancelled the booking so we're homeless at the moment - it's not easy finding somewhere at 'short' notice for 35 people that we can afford. Going to look at another place on Thursday although they have another group in for part of the week we want.
We have had no more vandalism since the CCTV's been up - one suspicious looking man came up the drive (I think he was trying car doors whilst walking his dog) and was a bit shocked when we flew out of the house! I don't watch TV so the view of the drive on the laptop has been a novelty in the evenings recently!
I have a week off work so aiming to tackle the garden and spring clean this week.
    Take care all.

BETASAM i think its spanish, it hasnt come through yet DS is fuming it was meant to be here a week ago, oh bless your little nephew they take things so literally dont they? I hope you find somewhere for your summer camp, how annoying of the other place to let you down. What did the man have to say for himself? OMG some people!! I am so glad the vandalism has stopped though it must have been so worrying for you.

NIC glad the job is working out for you, well done, oh yummy i blooming love fudge and tablet will have to have a nosey
NANAMIA oh you know me so well, yes it has all got on top of me, i am so behind on everything, it is all mounting up, i wasnt very happy with DD1s cake, wanted the white choc to dye red and it came out pink but not even a pretty pink :( still havent iced the guinness chocolate cake i made yesterday for sunday bake club and now i have our st patricks day meal to cook and bake for tonight the house looks like we have had a party for 100 people :rotfl:im well and truly shattered, just having a couple of hours to start cleaning while DD1 has gone to have her latest birthday tattoo done :rotfl:glad to hear you have slowed down a bit and DH is still doing well
    OMO love the quote :)
FEISTY hope you and DH had a lovely day yesterday together
BEG hope you have a lovely couple of days away for your anniversary, as RUTH says a change of scenery does wonders for you
BETSIE glad your foot op went well and that you are being looked after, well done you for saving mum and dad some money
MRSMONEYPENNY ooh your wool sounds gorgeous, you dont fancy doing my garden do you by any chance :) hope the funeral isnt too sad this afternoon
RUTH im doing pork in guinness and honey too and colcannon, with irish apple pie and caramel and whisky sauce to go with it, hope you enjoy yours

Right will pop back later and put challenges on for last few days must get on

My bl**dy post has gone!!! I spent 21/2 hours in the garden trying to get rid of some of the gales disaster, filled mine and my neighbours garden waste bin and 3 big containers, and the lovely bin men(xxx) took it all away. Then I came indoors as I had done enough. Now I feel zorsted, sickish and cold and weak. Now DGS wants to go out and dig up a tree stump.!!!
Nanamia, the awards were really good, some really clever and creative people with now thriving businesses. Friends shortlisting in 2 different categories was ace, and she got framed certificates.
The lunch was a buffet, sweetcorn and cheddar soup, bread rolls, different salads (curried cauliflower salad was one!) cold cuts of meat, and cheesecake or dutch apple tart for desert.
Only problem was that there were not enough seats and no tables at all, so somewhat of a balancing act.
Still no joy from the wonderful choose and book, so back to see GP tomorrow.
Have to tax the car today, will perhaps be able to do it on line, hmmmm. Then check banking and pay credit card.
Bragg now, DGS got a certificate today, from school, a special award for never missing a homework all year! and congratulating him on its good quality.
Should make Tea but too cold to brave the kitchen yet xxxxx
