BLUEEYEDGIRL thankyou but it all depends on whether HA will play ball, im not sure if they will sort it because my ex put it in (he was a plumber) DD1 emailed them last night so we will see, otherwise i will have to find money for a plumber

Freespirit - meetups are groups on the internet where people with the same interest get together. We have several in our area and they range from walks to photography to nights out etc
I've been out with this group twice, but some of the people seem to live and breath these groups. I'm hoping the meal tonight will have a wider range of people...
Shhh - but still no rain. I expect its waiting for me to walk the dog:)2015 £2 Saver #82

morning all
just had a scariest 15 mins of my day
a text from DS2 school saying he wasnt in registration and could i ring to explain why, rang school to say definitely left on time and in full uniform this morning so as far as i was concerned he was there.
receptionist was lovely and said she thought it was strange so shed queried with teacher as there was no mark either way by his name but teacher said she hadnt seen him. he was by then supposed to be in pe who werent answering the phone so receptionist assured me shed go and find the teacher hed had first lesson with and ring me back. i waited and waited finally got a call she couldnt find the teacher so had walked over to the sports hall so she could check once and for all and see him herself before ringing me. he was they and assured her he wasnt late this morning and did attend form registration so shes going to double check with teacher and ask her to check with other students as well that he was there this morning.
And breathe..........
reason receptionist thought it strange is hes been there over 3 years and never had a day off, i knew he wouldnt be truanting because he loves his 100% attendance certificates every month, so was worried something had happened on the way there.
hope everyone is well and recieved no serious damage in last nights storms
thinking of those in the flood areas and hope you get some relief from it soonSPC~12 ot 124

Mrs Moneypenny - really horrible feeling, glad he was there and hope they take the Teacher to task
Well saved £80 on home insurance via g*c*mpare.....they asked if I'd had any flooding.... Luckily not here but expect that some people are really going to struggle to get home insurance now. Really not their fault, as the Govt have been so keen to build on any green belt or brown fields in the South They were warned that they were building on flood plains but ignored the advice. Strange how no one seems to have confronted them with it.2015 £2 Saver #82

Sorry to hear you have a stye, Freespirit. they are horrid, have you tried the old wives cure of rubbing it with a wedding ring? or have you gone for the more scientific hot spoon bathing remedy? Have you got your boiler working again, I hope so.
That trampoline must have been a shock, love the circus comment tho. Also chuckling at the dog thinking it has been for a walk.
OMO you couldn't have put it better.
Hope you can get the leaking roof and window sorted, Hanley, and Feisty, re the mould and peeling paint, if your flat is only 4 yr old, does it have NBC 10yr guarantee?
Mrs money-penny that must have been the worst experience! just pleased it was a misunderstanding and he is there all safe and well. xx
Nanamia I have given BD a swift hobnail size 4, hope you benefit soon from it, hug to you. DD is still suffering, the wound is infected and oozing putrid stuff, so she is on antibiotics, and still off driving.
The 124 mph winds last night here were pretty awful, but, all credit to Nev-the Shred, as all the greenhouse glass is still where it should be. More than can be said for the remainder of the fence and the bins. And now, the blooming sun has the nerve to be shining as if there was nothing wrong.
No more news about the schools, but both heads resigned together with immediate effect, which tells me there is government skulduggery afoot.0 -

Oh you are a braver person than me, that would be my worst nightmare, DD1 was reading our village monthly news booklet the other night and said oh mum do you know there is a flower arranging group? I said yes i do but i couldnt think of anything worse, there is always someone who has to be centre of attention, someone who is bossy and has to be the leader oh dear can you tell im really unsociable :rotfl: Hope you have a lovely time tonightmrs-moneypenny wrote: »morning all

Oh MRSMONEYPENNY i bet your heart was in your mouth, how frightening, im so glad the secretary actually went to find him to make sure he was there to put your mind at rest. And i hope it doesnt affect his 100% attendance rate in anyway, wow that is some achievement for 3 years well done himmrsinvisible wrote: »Sorry to hear you have a stye, Freespirit. they are horrid, have you tried the old wives cure of rubbing it with a wedding ring? or have you gone for the more scientific hot spoon bathing remedy? Omg 124 mph winds im surprised anything is left in the garden, keep safe. If both heads have resigned together then whatever is going on isnt in the best interests of the schools involved i would have thought.

There has been a thing in the local papers here they've been trying to build on some more of the flood plains, and showing photos of them completely submerged. If they go ahead with that I'd be very suprised... xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

It's been chilly but lovely here all day!
River has finally peaked...but apparently we're in for more rain and high winds tomorrow and the rest of the week. Next door actually had a couple trees down last night, one is lay on a barn conversion kind of thing that they are doing up luckily scaffolding was there and took the brunt of the blow only a couple broken tiles on the house. And the other hasn't fallen properly thank god! Or we'd be making a lot of insurance claims it's currently leaning over our fence wouldn't reach the house but was above 2 boats and a trailer! We've cleared them out from under it now. Waiting on the tree man to come sort it out. All the wind and rain has meant they have have just pulled up at the roots.
So been out doing all the outside jobs today, cleaned my windows, loaded up with wood. I am not going out there again! I am frozen!!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
