    Evening all!
I'm sorry to have been so MIA, but in my defense it has been really mental here.
So on the 9th the oven blew up, it went flash and bang and tripped all the sockets in the house, so Dad freaked out and made us swear not to use it because Mum and I were quite happy to carry on using it til pay day (25th) then on the Monday I popped to the butchers and managed to somehow lose my card there, and plus on getting fish and chips in the evening I managed to get a grease mark on my coat.
So then followed buying a second hand cooker (gas this time Amey is not a fan let me tell you!) so Mum and Dad went to collect it, whilst I did an open to close, it was filthy I've spent about 12 hours cleaning it! and tbh we've only just started cooking in it and even then I am convinced I could carry on cleaning it for days.
Pigpen I'm sorry I'll send the bears Monday I promise and I'll throw in some goodies for being soo delayed.
But now I have some sort of exciting news in a way.
My trainee manager has been signed off as sick for the last couple of weeks. So my manager asked me to go to the trainee meeting instead of her, so I went, I had such a good time it wasn't as scary as I was expecting I had fun and made some friends. And it made me realise I want to make the step to trainee. So anyway I then see my manager the following day and he says he is pleased that I had such a good time and that I am feeling ready for the next step, because he isn't sure if our trainee will be coming back and if not I would be a strong contender for trainee manager!
So I am now majorly torn because I want her to come back, and I know my manager has offered her a supervisor role so there is less stress, but I think I'd like the chance to apply for trainee.I think I might apply for other shops trainee manager just to get some experience in applying.
ok thats me done caus I am about to lose my battery.
Love and hugs to all xxx

oh AMEY that must be your run of bad luck over and done with then :) good for you on the job front wishing you lots of luck and hope it all works out for you x

b_e_g thank you! well tomorrow is the phone call day! hoping my band of merry helpers will be happy with the company response (double Dutch to me) something to do with a slant in my bedroom ceiling. I will be glad when they've been ordered and I have a time frame, hoping my GUAG will return and I will be spurred into action :) xxx
Freespirit I was going to suggest your wedding ring then had a little chuckle to myself and thought the bl@@dy thing would probably blind you! I think any gold ring would do tho. I do swear by it. (Please don't somebody come along with a scientific explanation and burst my bubble) ha. Oh no heating, fingers crossed the HA sort it and pretty damn quick. I googled "meet ups " too ha, not for me either. But I can see how some people would love them. Thank you for being my sister from another mister xxx
Mrs M I was scared for your DS reading your post :( oh my goodness what must have been going through your mind. Thankfully alls well that ends well. You seem to have remained so cool and calm :) Aww bless the LOs choosing a Christmas story :) My Mrs M Moment for today was getting a pm from Freespirit exactly when I needed it. Ooooh I love this thread xxx
Msgigglewick I shouldn't laugh and I do know it could have been much much worse but your DDs comment about the circus sending the trampoline actually did make me laugh out loud :) How adorable :) There has been a few flying trampolines around here too, thankfully only "stuff" seems to have been damaged. Oh really well your NYR was totally wated on those sorts. You really don't need to be surrounded by that sort of people. I hope when the sun comes out and you can get out and about you'll meet some lovely like minded people who who will be honoured to call you a friend :) I certainly would be xxx
Hanley you poor thing! oh I think everybody has had enough of this haven't they. We've been let off very very lightly here but I do feel for you all who've suffered so very much xxx
Feisty oh it's no biggie my lovely! You've made an effort end of. Relationships change, people change it's all part of life, we are looking forward, the past is behind for a reason. And lady I and my spies are watching you. Is anything worth your health???? You know the answer xxx
Betsie well I googled meet ups and have learnt something. It's not for me -think hermit!!! But I've a new neighbour who is from Germany and keen to meet up with locals so I will be pointing her in the direction thank you xxx
Mrsinvisible I think your size fours may have done the trick! Thank you :) Oh your poor poor DD, I had a feeling that it was going to be difficult to heal :( bless her. Absolutely impossible to keep dry and cool :( fingers crossed the antibiotics kick in quickly. Sending her a hug, but a gentle one sided one! Aha, I knew there was something wrong with the school situation, heard something on the local tv news. Yes definitely skulduggery ! They think we were born yesterday don't they :( and yet repeatedly get away with it xxx
Caitlyn cooooo eeeee you can't whip in for a sentence and disappear!!! Where are you :) miss you xxxx
Amey exciting times ahead as Pigpen says now the "fun" is over let's hope it's your turn for good things xxx

Morning all. Am I allowed to wish you all a Happy Valentines day, even though this is a Christmas forum? I hope so! No matter what you're up to and wether you're married, single, separated or something else, remember that you're loved by many people and enjoy the day.

I'm up much earlier than I planned, so I'm going to read my book and have a cuppa in the quiet for once. :)

  • Good morning, although cold and dark, the rain has stopped and the wind has died down a bit. DGS is off to school in non uniform to support UNICEF, this time. He is looking forward to today, as his teacher has promised him a fountain pen for improving his writing, hope she remembers! Then a whole week off, hopefully mummy will be a bit better so she can enjoy it with him.
Glad the boots worked Nanamia, happy to oblige anytime!!
There isn't a lot going on in the invis abode, but my lovely friend has suggested another trip to London this year, which would be lovely, so its tighten belts even more and screw the savings out. This week I want to make some spring flower hanging baskets for my lovely friends and my SIL to cheer us all up, I have home grown pansies, violas and primroses, with a bit of ivy and a few other bits, should look ok. just need to buy compost. Off to scrub the kitchen floor and put the rubbish out...... oooo lucky me, eh?

DS2 said he was def in form yesterday morning and his class mates backed him up so not sure what happened, apparently its all sorted now and the receptionist has overridden the mark to confirm he was there. i bet he will be checking for his attendance cert at the end of this month just in case.
