b_e_g apparently the phone call went well? I heard the words just couldn't make head n tail of them haha. Photos are to be taken of sloping roof and they're to be emailed along with more measurements, they will then return a quote and we will see :) or plan B they will be shockingly overpriced and I will be off to ikea to look at their selection. The ball isn't quite rolling but it's on the spot ready :) xxx

Hope quote isn't too  :D. DS has said he will be around tomorrow so hopefully we will be able to sort a bit more of his stuff tomorrow. He said he was after a mirror (just a little one) and I have spotted one on wilco's site so might try and pick one of those up during the week.

    Morning all,
Had a busy few days here the bathroom decorating is almost finished just a towel rail to put up, the IKEA trip went well dd found a wardrobe she liked its being delivered today before 1pm.
I *suggested* to dd that now she is almost 17 it was time to reduce the amount of toys she has usually she has to get used to the idea for a while then sorts stuff out but to my surprise she has bagged a load of stuff including almost all her sylvanian toys for the charity shop !
The dog keeps ram raiding the bags as he likes to play with the figures so we have to keep chasing the little furry thief to get them back .
Hope you are all safe and dry today.

Sounds as though you are on a roll with all your work. Can just picture dog chasing the bags. :rotfl:

Good luck with the sort out.

RUTHHONEY oh everyone has been going mad about that film About Time on twitter, it was recommended by Kirsty Allsopp and loads of people have watched it and all reckon its a really good film, so hope you enjoy, your valentines presents sound lovely

Still not managed to watch it. Hubby is watching some ice hockey game. I got bored. It's been on for hours!!! I quite enjoy watching it live, but on the TV I find it dull. And commentary is annoying. Surely it'll finish soon and we can watch the film...

Ruth hello there :) what a beautiful thing to say, lovely way to start the day. Can I nosey? What are you reading now? I started two more Trisha Ashley's but I'm not good with witchcraft etc even if it's meant to be light hearted so had to delete :( I am reading something but it's not doing much for me ha. Stay safe xxx

Msgigglewick yep! I was thinking along the same lines! it'd be like in an American movie :) Wow. I could whip round and wrap Linkys present stash and do Mrs M's ironing, Mrsinvisible would make us spring baskets, Nicki would paint our windows Freespirit could make us Nigellas Christmas cupcakes, you could do cheesecake, Pixtotts could do cake pops Ruth could run the book club ( tho keep an eye on her cos she does way too much exercise for my lazy liking-ha), b_e_g could help me declutter, Feistys dogs would keep the BD at bay, gosh we'd be awesome xxx

I've just finished the new Bridget Jones book-Mad About The Boy. It's OK, but a bit too much about nits/vomit/farting for my liking. Glad it was a cheap Kindle book and I didn't waste money on the paperback as I doubt I'll read it again. I was at 98% and my kindle started grumping at me about low power. Luckily I managed to finish before it died on me and it's now charging.
Still reading a 'proper' book-The Charm Bracelet. Was mostly when I'm in the bath, but I think I'll finish that one before I start anything else new. I love choosing which book to read next, don't you? Not sure what I'm in the mood for. Something light, but maybe not a romance.
Was shocked the price of books in Oxfam last weekend. £1.99 for the paperback I got from the library recently!!! Then I go to The Works and they have loads of new* books in an offer 3 for £5 (including a couple of Carole Matthews ones, if anyone is interested). Talked myself out of buying them as I am SERIOUSLY out of bookshelf space and need to have a clear out. Must remember to use the library or get Kindle books.

*New as in, not used. Not new releases...

Love the idea of our little world. And of course all the treats would never make us gain weight. Have been very lazy with exercise recently. Pretty much just water aerobics 2 times a week and only walking to the tube station because I refuse to spend £1.45 on bus fare for a 20 minute walk.
    :hello: Hi everyone

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day!

I was at a colleagues birthday party last night. I did enjoy it but I always struggle to keep up with the conversation as the music is so loud! Does anyone else find that they have this problem?

The creme egg cheesecake does look lovely! It might just be a little too sweet for me though.

Amey - Hopefully you will achieve your promotion!

Yes, I have that problem too. Not that I get to go to parties much, but even in pubs, I prefer ones with no music, or very quiet music. If I'm with people, I want to talk!

Watched About Time. Lovely film. Really enjoyed it. Even hubby said it was very good.
A while ago I think I posted about a tv series I watched called The Ice Cream Girls. I have also read the book and liked that. Just spotted they're repeating it on ITV3 next week. Monday at 10pm. It's also on sky on demand if anyone is interested.

Off to watch another film now. Not doing anything productive today. It's the anniversary of my Grandma passing (not keen on that term, but I guess it gets the point across) so having a subdued day.

  • Well meetup was ok! But the organiser wanted us to sit as per his seating plan..... I said I was a bit too old to be told who I could sit next to! Anyway a few of us rebeled and we had a great time......but he was not impressed. Apparently next time he is going to e mail out the seating plan and if we don't like it we can cancel.....guess I won't be going again!
Lost 2 fence panels in last nights wind - and my fence too. So off to the timber merchants on Mon. Just when I thought I'd got the finances back under control
Youngest DS is 18 today so we had a lovely cooked breakfast and then tea and cake in town. SW might not go too well on Tues!
Weather seems to have calmed down here tonight - hope everyone else is safe and sound

Poor diet and general lack of fitness can both contribute to depression. In addition, anecdotal evidence suggests that occasionally people become very depressed in response to some specific foods. Such a reaction is very individual, and people are often not aware of the particular food substance or drink that is causing the problem. But if you suddenly feel depressed for no apparent reason, it may be worth considering whether you have eaten or drunk something new, and whether this might have caused your sudde change of mood. I have reserved several Carole Matthews books from the library earlier. Can't remember which ones, but I should really start keeping track of the ones I've read. :)
I've not been too sad today, actually. Just a bit quieter than usual. It's been four years now, so it's not so raw.
I find the challenge info so fascinating. It's taught me a lot and the food trigger is something I should watch out for myself.
Just out of interest, what are your top 10 movies? I was trying to think of my top 5 musicals on the way home from the theatre on Wednesday and it's so tough! So many musicals I've seen have also been films-My Fair Lady, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Shrek, The Bodyguard, Lion king, Mamma Mia, Rock Of Ages... I really should watch some of the classic musicals like Cabaret, Oklahoma, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Calamity Jane. Maybe I should declare this week musicals week and see what I can download and watch...:T

Dear lovely ladies, hope you all enjoyed Valentine's day yesterday. DH arranged with my friend who is an amazing florist to have the most gorgeous roses I've ever seen delivered. Her bouquets are always stunning but this one was truly lovely. DS1 on seeing Daddy had bought me flowers gave me some pretend (imaginary) ones, such a cutie ;-) We had a nice meal at home then watched "World's End" (Simon Pegg et al) from On Demand, with a nice bottle of Prosecco. Lovely. Only problem is I think we need a new TV. The picture keeps randomly deteriorating for an hour or so then going back to normal. Typically this happened 2/3 way through the film. House seems cursed atm, everything breaking at once.
Visited FIL today, it was his birthday this week. (February is a 5 birthday month) He was delighted by the selection of photos in his card and loves to see his little grandsons. Always buy Jameson's whisky as his gift. Anyone sees it on offer let me know ;) I've shown my little boy how to draw kisses on cards but bless him he draws squiggles and then blows kisses at the card lol. Wish he could stay little, he is so funny.
37 calorie brownies sound good. So far on my diet I have lost 4 pounds then:eek: regained 3 of them. I am looking and feeling slimmer though, mummy tummy is shrinking back finally.:)
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
