Feelings will pass. Depression feels permanent, but its transient. Things will change. Depression comes and goes. Depression and pain distort our thinking. I'll have one, please. And one of those 37 calorie brownies if anyones got any left...
I watched Captain Philips over the weekend too. Very good film. Tom Hanks is such a great actor.
Went to the bike show at the Excel yesterday. I'm not going again. We had press passes as hubby runs a motorbike website and also writes P/T for a magazine. Never been treated so poorly by the staff there and we've been going for years. On the plus side, I've got a lovely new helmet. I want to keep my old one (pale blue with flowers and butterflies on) but I've had it a while and you do need to replace them every now and then. I was tempted by a black and red matt effect one for £90, but then found a cute pink one with a bit of blue glitter for £50, so I got that instead. Totally clashes with my red/cream bike, but never mind.
Not got much done so far today. I always find that Mondays are like that. I can't seem to get going.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hello my luvlies, Happy New Year - somewhat belated I grant you and can't believe where the time has gone, haven't managed to get on since Xmas!!!
Have not read back but will try to catch up on recent events, but believe it or not this is my first opportunity to sit down. Mainly due to the bad weather and storms we have had here in the South West, have lost and had replaced half of our roof - not the start to year we wanted, but hey ho, no-one was hurt and possessions can be replaced, however you don't realise how many sentimental items you keep in your loft that can't really be replaced. That has been the hard thing to deal with.
We had a good Xmas, in-laws came and went and I have to admit to get through it I did have a 10 o'clock (am) drink every day, hope they didn't realise!
Didn't get out to buy anything in the sales so no paper, cards etc and the stock pile that I had from previous years along with pressies was - yep you guessed it - in the loft!
Will get onto trying to catch up hope everyone is well and hoping that life is going to start getting back to normal now. Take care and big hugs x0 -
picmix so sorry to hear what a bad start to the year you had, i really hope things improve for you and the rest of the year is goodSPC~12 ot 124

picnmix - hope your luck is changing now and you don't suffer any more damage.
Mrs M. - picked up First Phone Call From Heaven this morning from library so I will let you know how I get on. Wondered about ordering Book Thief but I don't seem to get much time to read these days and thought that one might be a bit heavier going. Have put the kindle app on lappy but haven't tried it out yet - I like to sprawl out when reading and this might be a bit awkward with lappy.
Feisty - hope Mr F gets on well at work and doesn't overdo things. You will both have to have a lovely relaxing evening with your feet up.
Take care everyone
