morning all
freespirit and nanamia, thank you the film was wonderful, i thought because i loved the book so much it couldn't possibly be as good. it was like someone had stolen all the images conjured up in my mind while i read and put them on the screen. like the book the film is narrated by Death (who is a kindly sympathetic character with a lovely comforting voice) i couldnt stop my eyes from leaking while watching and literally couldnt speak after the film had finished i was so emotional. bonus was DD and her fella also came with us as i managed to get another pair of tickets. she said it was OK (so not sure if you need to read the book or if weve just got different tastes.
its about a little german girl who lives with her adoptive parents who allow a jew to hide in their basement to pay back an old debt.
i wont say anymore as i dont want to spoil it for anyone who may wish to see or read it but as you can see i really cant recommend it enough.
i hope all are well and staying safe and dry in this horrible weather
hugs good wishes and positive vibes to anyone who needs them and i hope the poorlies are improving.
yesterday was agood day apart from watching the book thief i also managed to finish a cross stitch ive been working on for years. so going to concentrate on some cleaning tidying and ironing for the rest of the week. - apart from making DH a valentines card
got a text off my sister giving me dates shes available so gt to ring step mum later and see if any are suitable for them to take dad out for a birthday meal (we arent sure what to get him so i thought a meal out would be nice.)

I have decided to stay at home. It is windy and raining and it's due to get worse. Really can't see the point of getting soaked.
I would have to walk Mia, get wet, come home and change to go out and get wet again. I would rather just walk Mia get home and stay dry.
I AM going to go this month and I am going to go alone. I am not going to rearrange a date with BFF. She never phoned last night, and I am not going to phone her. I am starting to feel a bit used and I feel like if I ring her I am begging her to be my friend.0 -
Nanamia - Thanks but luckily I'm high enough although there is a brook through our garden it has to flood a long way before it would reach the house.
We have some friends though who are already living upstairs with downstairs furniture all on breeze blocks. They flood every time the rivers flood which around here is annual occurrence but they haven't had to move out since 2007, but this is the highest flood we've had since then, last night it was 30cm to go before we reach that hight again, right now it is absolutely pouring!
I was able to get a couple piccys yesterday ...
You see the first row of what looks like bushes but are actually trees thats the opposite side of the river bank from where I'm stood... there should be just fields after that!
Before those trees theres a wide footpath, with benches... it's lovely down there in summer.
In the time it took me to upload the photos to photobucket, the rain has turned to snow! At least the 07 floods were in summer
theres a wall by the river in Worcester, and after every flood they put a new block in with a line that the water level reached and the date it's really fascinating! It's also why I don't believe in global warming though.... the highest recorded date, was 1770, then 1945, and now 2007. This is the only picture I could find with a person in it for reference - http://user33656.vs.easily.co.uk/rbr10images/50.jpg The highest directly above the person is 2007, and the top brown one is 1770. On a normal day the river is a couple meters lower than the bottom of the wall... it's crazy the amount of water about!
Ha that was longer than planned... I have a bit of a fascination with these kinds of things if you hadn't noticed
OMO - don't blame you! I'm not looking forward to heading outI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

nanamia.. dh still hasn't moved any of it.. guess thats my job tomorrow since i've got to stay home for parcels. We've collected one pair of glasses today and still waiting on dd3's pair to come in (she has an odd perscription so they might be waiting for stock to come in or some such reason) Nearly finished the baby order
Omo i so know that feeling.. when i got pregnant with my dd4 my so called best friend who i'd spend hours and hours a day with (helping muck and train her horses, nights out etc) vanished ( i told her i couldn't go up the field as they had sheep which were lambing so i was avoiding it just for the first few months, had terrible sickness etc and not once she asked how i was or would come over for a girlie cuppa etc.. she never met my dd4 until she was at least 5 months old either) .. she even got married last year and when i didn't go to the evening do as i couldn't get there with dh working (he had the car) shes not spoken to me since. No asking why i didn't go nothing. She wasnt the only one who has vanished since i had libbie either.. my thoughts are obviously only wanted me for what i could offer them... no loss now.
The floods are horrid aren't they.. we currently have an alien yellow glow in the sky.. only for a few hours by the looks of things but its nice to see its still there lol
I ordered 4 xmas jumpers this am for the girls from boohoo.. they were £3- £5.. reduced from £20 so will be perfect for xmas jumper day this year.. how organised am i! lolTotally debt free wohooo 2014

did manage to pick up a couple of these gift boxes http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2370264.htm
total bargin at just 50p and really good quality bigger than I expected at 8inch/20cm square and they come with the ribbon and insert. would also be good for smaller glass/photo frame gifts as its solid.
also picked up a couple of gift bag sets 99p http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9263233.htm
as can't often find a single one of the bigger size for less than thatthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0
