Am shattered, will have a proper catch up tomorrow. But wanted to say hi, I've not heard from my beautiful Festive Princess today so hopefully have news (good I hope) in the morning. Night night xxxThe secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
All year through0 -
Freespirit66 - After cubs on Monday DS asked me to sit down so he could talk to me and then told me about Holocaust Memorial Day as they had done it in school, and he told me all about the Rose Blanche book. He was really interested and I also found it interesting (as I confess to not knowing anything about it) but ridiculously sad too.
Just read the words "Peanut Butter Cupcakes" and I am drooling. It's the first day of my diet experiment today. I am trying to see what diet suits me and I can cope with and today was WW. Work colleagues who are on this calculated I should have 26 points. No idea how anyone lives on this as after breakfast, lunch and allocating milk for brews, it meant I was left with 5 points (a muller light yoghurt) for tea.
Tomorrow will be SW Red Day, and as I don't do veg/salad/greenery I think permanent red days may be the way to go. Right now though I would be willing to put on half a stone for a peanut butter cupcake. Mmmmmm :rotfl:
BBTHREE i know it is so sad isnt it, i used to be fascinated by world war 2 stories as a child too, Anne Frank was one of my favourite books and i was lucky to go to her house in Amsterdam a few years ago, so so sad, you leave feeling so sombre, my DD1 and i both want to go to Auschwitz, the main concentration camp in Poland one day. Good luck in finding the right diet, i have started the 5:2 and had my first fast day yesterday and next one tomorrow, i am putting all what i eat into MFP on my phone as well, im seeing if it suits me too, btw the peanut butter cupcakes were blooming good :rotfl:Oh no i cant believe you have fallen againis it the same leg/foot each time? I only ask because i went through a phase of falling over each time bl**dy embarrassing
it was when i stepped down eg. was in disney world busy filming on video camera and stepped down kerb and next thing camera smacked on road, me sprawled, i thought it was me being clumsy and not looking where i was going, but then next year i was getting off a coach to go through customs and as i stepped out of coach again went flying into a big muddy puddle (in front of DD1s work colleagues i might add
) passport was sodden and dirty, then again a few months later stepping off our decking, holding a glass at the time and fell into a bush (dont panic didnt spill any) :rotfl:but it felt as if my leg was giving way when i stepped down onto it, its been fine since?????
Ruth_honey wrote: »Finished my first ever crochet project today. I made a scarf!Might do another one in a different colour because I won't see my crochet guru (!) until Friday of next week. I don't want to forget it all by then, but I'm not confident enough to chose my own chart and start something unguided! I'll be fine once I've been doing it longer and have confidence in myself, but right now it's all new and scary. :rotfl:
Well done RUTHHONEY on your first project, i bet it looks lovely, is it a present or for yourself?
Todays challenges all completed(twas hard sitting on my bum for 2 hrs watching a film hehe)
Be more concerned about your own feelings than your doctors. Having a pleasant chat may break the ice, but if you are feeling grim it is important to make that quite clear. If you dont do this you may never find out how sympathetic, supportive and informed your doctor can be

Arthien, well done on your win, hope it arrives before your trip.
Amey, brilliant news you managed to get pigpens pandas. you really are a kind and helpful person - thats what this threads all about.
hope you got enough sleep nanamia and had a great day yesterday
thank you for the good wishes yesterday. there was a huge turn up of people, they had to open the 'overspill' room so over half of us crammed into their and watch the service on a tv screen - just shows what a popular and well loved person he was. We all had to smile walking into the chapel to the strains of garry glitters i'm the leader of the gang. but that just summed his fun side up.SPC~12 ot 124

Freespirit66 - It is the same leg. :
Not had my AM holiday confirmed by boss. he's not said yes or no, and has just not replied to official request, and email and Skype.
So... As I have so much to do I am gonna have to be naughty and assume that's a "Yes".;)
XxAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Nanamia- glad you enjoyed your trip to The Smoke ( late FIL was a cockney)- bet it will take you days to come down from it.
JJ- (via Nanamia) hope you are on the road to recovery and still smiling xx
Amey- you are a kind soul!
BBTHREE- oh no- not again! Loving the way you wont let it get in the way of your marathon painting spree! Fingers crossed Ikea come up with the stock on Friday x
Freespirit- I feel your pain on WW!!! Told you I could have eaten a small horse when I was on that. Better luck with SW. (on the SW website they have a 7 day menu sample. the new 'way to go' is called Easy Extra, and is a bit more lenient than red or green (which you can still do). The syn values have changed too.
DD won a scholarship to go to Auschwitz (she does A level History) but turned it down. She was honest and said that she would find it too disturbing in the long term and asked for it to go to someone who is hoping to study History at Uni. (she is doing English). She said that although its a chance in a lifetime to witness some of the horrors and pay her respects to those that suffered, she would also like to be able to sleep in the future (she suffers from night terrors when she is under stress).
I spent all of yesterday trying to make a high heeled sandal out of fondant for a cake I have been asked to do- not very successfully I might add! Sandal is in the bin and I am back to the drawing board! Ive also been asked to make a wedding cake which Im not too sure about doing. I only make them as a hobby for family and close friends and now I have 3 'orders' that have sprung from nowhere. I think I might have to have a word with myself and learn to say 'No'!
Hope everyone else is OK and that today goes well . Its started to snow here (Birmingham), so the hound may not be going out later if it sticks cus snow and me do NOT go well together!lovin' this site!
:j0 -
bbthree I know you have loads to do but do try and rest that leg & hope its not too bad
omo hope your feeling better

JJ heres hoping no news is good news
right I really should be doing some housework but as lo is at preschool and i've got the start of a migraine think I'm gonna be a bit naughty and try and get some sleep instead.this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
BBTHREE, that's rubbish news about your leg! Is it possible you've weakened it from falling over last time? If you keep falling over, I'd go to the dr because it can be a sign something's not right, either with your leg or maybe your inner ear (which controls your balance).
Murie, it's so funny you should mention snow in Birmingham, I'm at work in Redditch and I read that, then turned around to see big fat flakes of snow outside! I hadn't noticed before! I can't see it settling here, it's too wet. It's definitely cold enough though, BRRRR!!!
Sorry about the cake situation by the way, it's always a pain when you're trying to create something and it's not going the way you want it to. I think you need to learn to say no more often, by the way, you need to put yourself first sometimes! It's not just about saying no to other people, it's about saying yes to making yourself the number one priority
mandco, hope the migraine goes, when we were children, my brother used to suffer horribly with them, so I know how it can make you feel. Hopefully the sleep helps! I know chocolate is the cure for all ails in my household!0 -
Hello, just checking in. Nothing exciting happening with me. I had another job interview on Tuesday for Bank carers for the council. Just want to get my foot in the door with the council a they advertise internally mostly. It went well, they said we would find out tomorrow.
I have been in the mood for baking, sewing and knitting. But I seem to spend all my time on my bum looking at Pinterest and blogs and not get anything done. I have a few orders to be completed, maybe once I get them done I will feel I can do things just for me.
Feeling a bit run down and meh! Lots of money worries building up, but what's new for Jan? X:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
