  • JJ hope you are feeling a lot better today, and will soon be home.
OMO sock it to them eh? loved todays quote. Cars are a bloomin oncost, hope the new battery fixes the situation.
Freespirit, aren't you doing great? bet DS is soooooooo proud of you, we all are.
Nanamania, DD and I had a lovely time out, Spoons coffee is lovely, but DD had hot chocolate, also delish.
On the Deccys front, nothing to report, they got put away and have not been added to ....... yet.
I have been doing well on the decluttering, but succumbed yesterday to the blandishments of a pair of shoes, they were begging me to take them home with me, honest, they were. Need to find a home for them, when I'm not wearing them, that is.
I have spent the morning cleaning and tidying the conservatory, it looks lovely, but it is too cold t sit in it.
Fave cous is coming for lunch today, she is on SW too, so I have constructed a chicken 'thingy' with veg and a small jacket tatey. I hope it will fit the plan.
Then this afternoon I hope to make a start on the greenhouse.
Have a lvely day everyone, hugs in a basket, help yourselves. xx
  • hope you're home soon jj

It is my crazy bessie friend no.1's 40th in April and I really don't have a clue what to get for her as she keeps scuppering my ideas! I was going to get her a voucher for a stay in a castle as she's always wanted to do that then she told me last night she's got one off travel zoo to treat herself:mad: I was going to book a trip for when she's on holiday in Italy for her birthday then she tells me she's found a great trip (yes the same trip!) herself and booked it :mad:

Despite us having been friends for 15yrs, I barely have any photos of us (apart from my hen do and wedding) so a photo book/scrap book is out of the question. I buy her jewellery nearly every birthday/Christmas anyway, she doesn't collect anything (hates having nick nacks around her house) she's forever buying discounted vouchers online so she's probably already bought it if she wants it:mad::mad::mad:

For my 40th, she bought me loads of bits with 40 on (keyring, photo frame, mug etc) so I can't do that really either:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Any ideas? I'd really like it to be some sort of keepsake I think.

    Hi all.

JJ I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry mini rant time. I have been stitching every night working on SILs invitations and as well as that trying to think of a hen do idea for her. She hates nights out drinking and went to a spa once and sat in the corner with a dressing gown on refusing to join in as she is very body concious (sp). I wish I had her body she's a size 10 at most but that's another story.

Anyway she loves baking so I found a place in Chester where we can all go for afternoon tea and then have a cupcake decorating class. Spoke to MIL and she said it's perfect. Saw SIL yesterday and said I needed a list of who she wants to invite. I hadn't even told her what it was and she had the biggest most childish tantrum you have ever seen about not wanting a hen do and that her fiance is not allowed a stag do! DH didn't help as he started calling her names it was like being back in time when they were kids! Lol.

I took her to one side and explained it's not a traditional hen do it's more of an afternoon out with friends and family. She calmed down slightly but I can't help feeling that I'm going to a lot of effort for her and she is being very ungrateful and a little spoilt!

To top it all off before I left she mentioned that she's like me to stich thank yous for all the bridesmaids to be framed like I did for my wedding!

Ok rant over. Ha ha. Hope everyone else is well, hugs to those who aren't.

Oh my goodness, you have the patience of a saint! I would have either had cross words or told her I can't cope and insist she helps - once she sees how long they take, maybe she wouldn't be so demanding?

How about an experience for the two of you together? A spa morning followed by tea and cake at a fancy tearooms? If she's not into 'stuff', then making memories is a good way to go :)

My smile moment today came this afternoon: the garage doing my car service told me I need new brake disks, pads and fluid at a grand cost of £212 (cue a sad moment), but then I took it to a local independent place for a second opinion and they told me it was all BS and nothing needed doing at all! :j

Do you think this means I can now justify going out to the 2-4-£10 place for tea? :D
