Festive Princess aka JJ's operation yesterday was as far as I can understand, was to fit a gauge that measures the pressures on her brain! she was hoping it would be connected up to the external monitor today and is hopeful for coming home on Wednesday. Forgive me Festive Princess if I've got that wrong :) She remains as ever our superstar xxx

nan your update was correct! I am all connected to the monitors done around 19 hours with potentially another 12-30 hours to go! Still being very sick and struggling with the fun of dehydration but that's another story!

  • JJ - don't know how you manage that gorgeous smile with all that you have going on. Fingers crossed it won't be too long before you are back home again.

Another one here ripping built in wardrobes out. :( Have been having problems with condensation inside the wardrobe despite trying loads of solutions to solve it. DS clothes were forever getting wet. DH decided that the only way to solve the problem was with a hammer and taking the whole lot out. So we have been busy repairing walls, sticking lining paper up (yesterday) and I think today we will be picking up some paint when DH goes to opticians. Will be paying a visit to Ikea soon to get a couple of freestanding wardrobes and drawers. Its only a small room with the bulkhead from the stairs coming up into it to we are pretty limited on what we can do with the room. The wardrobes have been in for about 28 years so I don't suppose they have done too bad just that we weren't planning on replacing just yet. DS only sleeps in that room - he has another bedroom that he redid last summer and that is now his den with bed settee, whopping big tv, desk and shelving. Took the wardrobes out as he didn't need them - not going there as that's a whole new argument. ;)

May be calling on our London travel guide (aka Ruth) soon as DS is meeting up with a friend he met at uni (he is coming over to UK) and they always said that they would have a trip to London (friend couldn't get over the fact that DS has never been). DS is just awaiting confirmation that he has been granted his hols and then the bookings can start. They hope to go to the Royal Albert Hall (something about movies). He asked me what the dress code would be :rotfl: :rotfl: Feeling a bit naughty so decided to wind him up a bit.

Oh well had bettter get ready now - wouldn't think I'd been up since just after 6.

    Take care everyone

  • Another day in the madhouse begins. Yesterday I got the conservatory roof fixed for £80 (friend of stolencar friend) hopeful it is sorted.
Stolencar friend rang to say her new-to-her car's indicators had stopped working, so, up to garage, couldn't fix there and then, so I had to take her to work and wait and bring her home. Today she tried her indicators yay, they worked, but no wipers. Waiting for her to get back from the school run and then it is back up to the garage to get that sorted out. To say she is !!!!!! off with cars is an understatement, but as said car has not been regularly driven for 6 months these things can happen.
DGS needs haircut this evening, friend is here, back later, love to all xx

We've got condensation mould on the wall that faces our back garden (the room we redecorated just under a year ago!!! ) Are your wardrobes against an outside wall? I think the guy who came round to look at the walls here said if we used oil based paint, not water based, that would help. Might want to google that to check I'm remembering correctly. And maybe leave a gap between the wall and wardrobe when you put new ones in?

Will be happy to help with London info if you need. Never been to the Royal Albert Hall, though. The great thing about London is that you can be very dressed up and no one really cares. Last year we went for afternoon tea and decided that we wanted to get all dolled up for it. DH wore a tux and I wore a vintage type dress with a fascinator in my hair and we went on the tube like that. :)

    Xmas Saver!
I have a sore chest and a cough. I can't speak because it makes me cough and then I can't stop.

The car wouldn't start yesterday, it had a flat battery again. ( second Monday in a row) . So I have had to order a new one £70
Luckily my BIL works at a garage so he will fit it for free. He has told me to take a book with me as it takes ages to fit. The battery is under the passengers seat.
I also have the opticians this afternoon with dd, so will get the battery done after that so I am not clock watching.
Typically because I don't feel well the skies are blue.
Finally got ds' room done yesterday after work. I now have a wash load on that is purely socks. We found them everywhere.

j-j hope you are felling better today and not too sick.
