Morning, it's chilly today brrr.
Not sure if you remember my Tesco were doing scan voucher in Jan which gave me £50 off my shopping each week then £72 off my Christmas dinner shopping?
Well they have a new machine. You get one voucher to scan, for 4 weeks, you can win £3 off a £30 spend, £5 off a £5 spend, £50 off £50 spend and £500 gift vouchers,
We picked a few packs of vouchers from the self service tills and got posted some, we got loads of £3 off £30. Then on Friday I was down to my last £3.50 in the bank , I won £50 off a £50 spend :j:j
So I waited til Monday and got my weekly shopping, plus extras like big packs off toilet paper, big bags of pasta, some nice oil for cooking etc. I could combine some £3 off £30 spend too. So did some clever spending.
THEN my oh went in to scan a couple more this week and again a few £3 ones then another £50 off a £50 spend :j so I am saving it til Monday and doing the weekly shopping with it.
It's been a relief, after not being able to take 2 jobs due to childcare costs, plus my wee business has been busier than I expected for Jan. and now getting over £100 in shopping for free. We have another 2 weeks of vouchers to scan in the following 2 Mondays, so you never know
I think they are doing these vouchers as the store opened in Nov and it has been really dead. Not are why as there are 5 villages all surrounding it. But a lot of older customers are still using the Co-OP. so this is them trying to get folk in to spend more money.
Seeing as you can combine the vouchers, my Oh is going to brave it tonight and spend £36 then hand over 2 £3 over £30 vouchers, then add good for either £3 or £6 and hand over 2 more vouchers, then another at £30. She he should still have £27 to pay, but will have gotten a few extra bits for vouchers we wouldn't have used.
Well done with the vouchers Nic :j
Our Tesco does not have the same promotion running. However, a word of caution, when our Tesco does the £5 off a £40 spend vouchers, we are also allowed to combine them, but only if there are sufficient number of £40 spends. So if we spend £48 we can only use one voucher, even though the balance will still be over £40 with the use of one £5 voucher. We can only use a second £5 voucher if we spend £80 or more. It might be worth checking with customer services or a friendly cashier if you can use 2 vouchers on a £36 spend before you spend, otherwise you may end up paying more than you budgeted for
Ignore me if you have already tried what you are proposing with success - I just wanted to save you any possible awkwardness in case you have not ;o)Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Fluffysox I'm so sorry I missed you on yesterday's post! Och I'm getting dreadful! We are super lucky and have fab neighbours who are dear friends, three couple in particular, the boys (loosely 40/54yrs) all fish. As you know my DH isn't in good health but they are brilliant with him. It's done him so much good specially in the last 16 months since DS went to Oz. They usually go local to us at locally fisheries, roughly April/Sept but have been looking at sea fishing to try this year! Think I'd feel better if DH tried it first with DS but I know that our friends will look after him
I know it sounds a bit mean but I love a few hours peace (only a few otherwise I'd worry) we are together 24/7 usually
The ladies have trips planned ready for the start of the new season too, it'd be rude not too xxx
Chrissy there's no such thing as cheap varifocals is there! The trouble with the online sites is I've found cos you have to wear them all the time you need to try them on. Catch 22 I'm afraid. Ooh lucky DD ha an early Easter present, bet she's done some giggling tho xxx
Mrs M bless you! what a lovely thing to sayFingers crossed for a very big win for you soon then. I love that your DH wants to keep hold of the beautiful stocking, I'd be praise indeed in my house
Were the censoring the word lovely haha. Why? xxx
Pigpen I often buy a set of books and split them. Have done well in Costco in the past for sets of popular currents children's authors. I would be put out too. How blooming rude!
BBTHREE oho another serious case of man flu! There are some pretty horrible germs around at the moment, flooring people who are usually fit and strong. I am a very fussy eater but have managed to roughly stick to SW, 48.5yrs of never eating fruit or veg I've managed to turn around so there is hopexxx
Ruth it is very possible that you have read "Meet me under the mistletoe" because I'd already downloaded it- probably from your recommendation haha. 8" smaller corset oh my goodness that's unbelievable wow. Go girlHope it's back quickly and that you love it xxx
Linky have ordered! oh you are cleverthank you. Who would have thought that you'd got into an argument those blooming yanks would make a saint swear!!! Have fun tomorrow with your diy
xxx
his missus wow you've had a most productive day. Well done you. xxx
Freespirit now you've explained it it doesn't sound half as badI'm such a bore you know I can't think of anything like that that I'd like to do. I must be really boring
and not very adventurous
oh no now I'm making myself feel miserable haha.
Weirdly DH first phone arrived yesterday (with all this phone chatter) I'm not counting the emergency pay as you go in the glove compartment. He now has a very basic smart phone, teaching him to use it would try the patience of a saint. Slowlytoday we've mastered ringing and texting so not too bad. Will he remember in the morning? Only time will tell
xxx
Ooooh...I must be costing you a fortune with all these books I recommend. Sorry!
I haven't lost 8" off my waist (I wish I had!), but the corset was laced up as tightly as it could be and it was still gaping loads at the bust, so ordered such a smaller size so it would fit at the top and also have room to lace up looser, so I can do waist training. Just hope it's not too small now. Although I am hoping to lose a lot more weight anyway. It's so blooming easy to gain, but a million times harder to lose it.
Had a lovely night at the theatre last night. Saw Once at the Pheonix theatre. I didn't really know anything about it, but it's fantastic! I would really recommend it if anyone is looking to see a West End show. When are you seeing The Bodyguard, Nanamia? I started watching the film last night (well, technically this morning when we got home!) but fell asleep. Forgot how many great songs are in it. I love a good soundtrack.
Right, I'm gonna brave the cold and get to the pool for a swim. Didn't manage anything after water aerobics yesterday as I had to get home to get changed and into London, so must make up for it today.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks for the heads up, but it's letting us combine the vouchers as long as the balance is still over £30 so the other day I spent £82 used my £50 voucher then a £3 one it was really quiet, so she told me to go grab something else, so I picked up jars of sauce that I was eyeing up, to take it over £30 again and used another. She was happy to keep going. In the end I spent £27 then used various clubcard vouchers to get it even cheaper
I was telling the checkout lady about me winning it when I had been down to my last few pounds, she said ' I love hearing things like that, makes it worth it' so she was trying to help me get all deals going lol x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
well done nic, and even better that the check out person was so helpfulSPC~12 ot 124

I've nearly finished boxing up all my tesco 10p goodies, so DH will be relieved to finally get some space back. He was planning on putting the box in the loft but I can barely lift it, and it's not quite done yet, so I think there may have to be a rethink :rotfl:
I also returned 2 lots of previously-bought Christmas goodies, and the money refunded more than covers the cost of the things I'd re-bought at 10p! :T
I heard some people got all sorts of amazing deals: trees and outside light-up reindeers and £9 luxury crackers all for 10p! Clearly Tesco wants the shelf space back! Hopefully some of us on here have managed to stock up for the next couple of years (as we all know, some people are very good at planning ahead for future Christmases, eh OMO?)
ARTHIEN oh well done on the 10p deals, i never catch anything like that im always too late to the partyMorning- and belated birthday wishes for yesterday.x
Went to SW yesterday and lost another 2lb so happy with that. The leader raved about a Weetabix muffin that you can use as HE or syn them out. Im not a lover of bread so find the B choice difficult to use (and the A choice cus I don't drink milk), so I thought I would try them. Mmmn- what can I say? Less the Costa doulble choc muffins I was hoping for, and more mashed/mushed up rockhard Weetabix brickettes. And she said it would satisfy cake cravings! If she calls THAT cake she can stick it! Not gonna try them again!
Freespirit- u want to de clutter my photos? Would only take you about a month! The loft is groaning under the weight. DH is an avid photographer but doesn't trust digital copies so makes prints of every single pic he has ever taken over the last 27 years together!! One day we are gonna wake up surrounded by the contents of all his cr*p that's stored up there cus the ceilings will have given way! (Can you tell its a bone of contention between us??!)
Nanamia- ooh- what are you having done with your hair? I am a scaredy when it comes to hairdressers. I put it off and off and off until its so bad I end up having it chopped off. Problem is I hack at the fringe myself so I can see out so it ends up looking like Wurzel Gummage hair! You have reminded me to get a colour for it at the weekend cus the dreaded 'roots' are about 2" wide now! (why is it no matter what colour your natural hair is they always look black??)
Hope everyone has a lovely day even though its mizzly and grey xx
MURIE well done on the weight lossthose muffins sound yuck
i have 30 years worth as well, i keep them for memories, scrapbooking, albums, but when someone on here the other day said about getting rid of scenery ones it jolted something in me so i have been more ruthless and it feels soooo good throwing out the ones of the ex, ive already deleted, cropped photos on computer but not the printed ones, very therapeutic, will see if the kids want to keep some for their kids but i know they will say no way. I wish my roots did look black but they tend to be more grey :D

I am useless NIC i dont understand a word of that:D:D i love seeing when people use these vouchers and get loads of free food or save hundreds but it always confuses me how they do it, well done on the win, brilliant for anytime but even better for january
NANAMIA i will see if i can share my bucket list on here for you to look at, its not actually that exciting but just things i would really like to say ive done that to my grandkids (they will probs just yawn and say whatever nana):D:D:D
